We should all write to them and see if they will re-release this series of pins. :)

:bigthumb: We really should! ^_^ Only thing is, I'd feel SOOOOO sorry for those who paid big money for their pins... it's still a possibility though, right? They weren't labeled LE, so maybe it could happen... I just don't wanna imagine the CHAOS that would ensue

If these pins were rereleased chaos doesn't even begin to describe the hell Disney will get when people paid thousands of dollars for these pins and some people walked into the parks and paid 20 bucks for two. If they ever do rerelease the pins, they should make a reality show so everyone can watch the madness.

Now that is extremely true... I guess it's not Disney's fault that people bought pins for such crazy money when there's still the possibility of a re-release, but they DID supposedly lose half of the shipment of these pins, so the resulting price inflation does set at least part of the blame on Disney... that reality show would be positively apocalyptic

I think there is a lost palet or crate full of boxes because there just don't seem to be enough of them in circulation, or even in people's collections, for it to just be limited release.

I just noticed how similar these 2 pins are:

and

So, it is the same pose and everything except one shows a bit more teeth. They changed the back-ground, slapped one "jewel" and called it "Limited Release" and now there is a huge price difference

I think they use similar amounts of metal and enamel, but one costs way more. Go figure the pin collector's sentiments.

I guess seeing the prices it goes for people are thinking twice about that pin. hell if I wasnt attached to Up and the marquee hit that price a few times I would consider selling XD (wont ever sell it though but pricing has to be taken into account) if someone who has all rapunzel pins could easily make a steal on ebay XD

They keep getting higher and higher with each auction too... It was
1050.00
then
1250.00
now one is already at $1355.00 and still has not ended yet. I'm betting the last one listed will end at around $1500.00 :\

Well I for one do not believe that there is a "lost" shipment, and if there was at this point it's never showing up. I think it's far easier to believe that they all went to DLR and a mistake was made on the pin website, than several crates of pins have been lost for 2 years. I was there for this release and there were a lot of pins. I also remember when they first started showing up on ebay for $100 what a huge commotion it caused and some guy admitted, I think one of the sellers, that he had bought several cases because there was only one Rapunzel per case, so it would make sense that a few people seem to have a lot of these pins, because they bought the whole case. If you do a search for Reveal/Conceal or Rapunzel on DPF you might be able to find the thread I'm talking about. It would be nearly 2 years old.

I'm sorry if I've upset anyone by saying that I don't think the pins are lost and will show up someday. I just don't see how something can be lost for 2 years.
