I recieved a PM telling me that my POC auctions were dumb. (they used um.. stronger words. LOL) I of course deleted said PM, but I did read it first. They rather long windedly said that if a pin is a piece of Sh*! then why auction it? No-one would want it, I would get horrible bids, if I got any at all. And it was a waste of time for people to "have to read it." That I must be a shark to expect people to give me their "hard earned highly tradeable" pins for what amounts to scrap metal.

Well, I was not going to reply, but it occured to me that others may wonder about my "motivation" for offering a POC pin up to auction.

First, in reply to the person who PM'd me....

  1. You dont have to read my POC auction, the title tells you what it is, do not bother clicking it.
  2. IF you actually read the rules of my POC auction game, you would know I do NOT expect good pin. In fact I want the WORST possible pins you can bid!
  3. I deeply resent being called a shark when it is clearly unfounded. That was just rude.

Now, my POC auctions are done for several reasons.

  1. My ID is PSYCHO pixie... Hello?!?!?!
  2. It's a points game. A game... It relieves the monotany of all the standard daily auctions for high end pins.
  3. It allows folks to get rid of unwanted pins. I use the pins that win as lanyard pins for my daughter to trade with cast members. This way I know she is not handing out Scrappers. Occationally one or two of the winning bid pins goes into my book, but not often.
  4. It gives people who do not have many higher value pins a chance to get in on the auction action. One of my POC games, the winner told me it was their first LE!!!! WOW!

And here is my mini rant::
With that, I have "explained" my motives. Don't insult me or the auction game. I still don't know what your issue is. From the tone of your PM, I make the assumption you are the one who was "one star stalking" me. Get over it, if you have a beef with me, tell me. Otherwise, theres a great thread Grim put together about how to ignore people. Why don't you just put me on ignore and leave me alone. Your behavior is idiotic and immature.

Ok. I am done. :)

Heres a link to my current POC auction!

Happy bidding to all!

WHAT!?! It is supposed to be fun! It is a sad that some people have no humor or fun to them and that they have nothing better to do than to PM you. It would have been a lot quicker for them to leave the thread and don't read it again. Some people...sheesh!

Sorry that happened to you, I saw one of your bags of POC, Dawny was kind enough to share with all of us and I thought there were some cool pins in there the penny one grabbed my attention right off the bat as that was an old hobby of mine and it was way cool of them to combine the two hobby's together! and a WDI pin too! way cool! all of them were pretty cool pieces of crap! lol

And I would like to add, if you don't like the auction don't bid on it!go on your merry way, others enjoy and get amusment out of it! and really? this forum is very close knit from my perspective, why is it necessary to bash, I want to bid on Psycos pieces of crap auction, but I have to dig through my pieces of crap because my knowledege on scrappers is pretty weak, I just got a pretty good lesson from a cast member during my last visit, I think I have quite a few scrappers.

Psyco, you keep doing what you do, I would like to bid on some of your crap! your a great trader!

Sorry I got it confused, mabey because more than one person thinks these kind of auctions are fun, and post these kind of auctions, and we all get a kick out of them! "my baaaaad!" :)

Well alrighty. Clearly, whoever it was that PM'd you doesn't know what they're talking about. Obviously they haven't been around long enough to know about you and pay attention to the fact that you are a great person - helper of newbies and those who could use a little help and general fun-maker. On top of that, it's pretty apparent that they're not familiar with terminology if they're calling you a shark. If you're holding an auction for a POC and are calling it as such, hoping for the worst pin/s possible and giving points for the worst pins out there, how in the world would that make you a shark? So yeah, this person has issues and as such, should just keep their mouths shut. And if they really have a problem, do as you suggest and click ignore before swiftly and firmly zipping their lip (or duct taping their typing fingers, as it were).

If you don't like the auction, don't bid on it. It takes 5 seconds max to click on an auction thread and see if it interests you. If it doesn't move on. Yet, someone feels the need to take even more time to chastise someone in a PM over those precious 5 seconds... It's a hobby people! Stop taking it so seriously!

Geez, what a Scrooge! Your POC auctions are what I like about this forum...it's full of serious pin traders who like to have fun too. I haven't participated in one (yet) but I enjoy reading through these auctions and get a chuckle when I see what people come up with to offer. I think it's just another way to have some fun with our pins and I'm glad there are creative people like you out there that come up with these crazy ideas. :)

I'm glad you posted this Pyscho Pixie. You are always very specific in your auctions and you really are a great person, I have met you in person. I for one commend you on auction and hope you continue with them. I for one will bid on them.

I hadnt seen your POC auctions, until reading this thread, but I must say they look fun and are a marvellous conception! Thanks for always coming up with weird and wonderful new ways for us to have some laughs!

The rudeness of people on this board never ceases to amaze me. I have had people PM me first, and then go balistic for one reason or another. I am always like, what in the heck just happened there?? I saw the same type of rude behavior, again on this board from the same person, and decided to use that wonderful ignore feature. Works perfectly.

Psycho, I'd do the same, they just aren't worth it. Plus, people with that type of attitude usually fall out of the hobby pretty quickly.

Good lord, some people's children! I think your POC auctions are a fun game, and even when I don't bid I like looking to see who's playing and what goes on, because FUN!

But even if I didn't, WHY would I do anything other than, y'know, not click???

My 2 cents. I think whomever sent the pm didn't actually read through the auction post because its pretty obvious it was an excellent attempt at generating some fun within the community. I for one actually like the pins and if I thought I could compete with the points on the scoreboard I would. IMO auctions shouldnt necessarily have to be for the most unique pins they can be whatever you want them to be. Don't like the item etc..? Don't bid. Simples.

Thanks for doing the auction and hopefully I'll be able to bid and win sometime. :)

So, check out the PM i got, in chat, from the person. They briefly popped in, sent the PM and left. I couldnt cut and paste but heres the basic flow of the PM....

"Why did you call me out in the forums? All I was doing was giving you constructive criticism. Now people will think I am mean. You are stupid."

Oi... some people right???? LOL I never gave a name. nor have I said a name to ANYONE who asks.

Ive never bid on your POC auctions but I love seing them pop up. I cant believe someone was so rude to you. Im sorry to hear that I will keep a special eye out for these in the future.

I still dont get how the stars work, but 1 star stalking you to see how psycho the pixie can get sounds oddly alluring to someone who seeks anarchy. xD Mawahaha

Don't worry ;) I wont....

As somebody who has traded with you in person on more then one occasion, all I can say is that you are always awesome to deal with here and at my home away from home Disneyland!!!

I love your poc auctions!!! They are just something fun and different and the world needs more of both!!!

 all bow down to the awesome one. Psycho Pixie may your auctions always be short on time and long on fun!!!
