Freakin Pin Meanie!!!
Wow, would they do that??

I actually wittnessed a CM manager go hunting for an LE pin for a very upset person once.... Other store in the park had called the emporium and the CM at the emporium said yeah, in stock will hold 2 for her.... But didnt. When she got there, apparently they had not held the last couple for her as promised....The manager came back with the PP version in hand.

My son earns his pins, he earns them by helping mommy do chores, and when he is a good boy at school, they have color cards the teacher sends hme with the student every day Green, good boy, Blue, very good boy, Purple, superb, Yellow, he was Naughty, Red, very very naughty with a time out! I always promise him if he brings home green he earns 1.00 blue 2.00 purple 5.00, when he helps me clean house he earns money, my 5 year old paid for the renewal of his pass himself, sure it mabey my money but don't we all pay our kids allowances, he won a costume contest with his Jack Sparrow costume, he got a ticket to DL, he used that ticket to pay to renew his pass, when I take him to the park and wait in line and help him buy pins, he picks out on his own, he is using his earned money, and if I can't help him pick out scenes ,then husbands and wives cannot pick scenes together and best friends can't either because we all really help each other out, I saw it with my own eye's at the Lonesome Ghost release, friends smiling happily talking over what scenes to get, three of them together at one register, so what! it does not bother me to see family and friends helping pick scenes, gees it's more fun I think.
Yes, now I have to get miffed at the parents who are getting bracelets put on 3mo old 6mo old ok Babies! we all know more than likley those pins will end up on good old Evilbay, your son is 9 and fully deserved to get a pin my son is 5 he too desrves one, now what do you ask is done with the other, well I trade it! I don't sell them on Evilbay ever! or if someone asks for help getting one then, bam there you go, I get to help a fellow forum member or friend who can't make it. I don't pull people along with me to gain more pins, I bring my son because he likes pins too and wants to trade and buy pins just like his mommy,he asks me if he can go! I had to not say where I was going for the Lonesome Ghost release because he had school,I knew he would want to go. I have asked other forum members at times for help getting a PODM because I would miss the event because of my job and I truly appreciate the help I get, if they only got 2 for themselves and their child then less traders are going to be able to help each other. I know not everyone is out to help others we all see that on the Bay but many are. I love helping others and watching my son collect and he has every right as I do to buy pins, thats just the way I feel. Not trying to ruffle anyones feathers. Honestly I hope I can bring him for the Beauty and the beast release because I know it's going to be another insane PODM, and I want to help someone get one so they don't have to go on the Bay and pay rediculous prices for it.

So basically I am saying, My sons pass is full adult deluxe price, he is not free, he is a paying customer there to experience the magic as any adult, but he is 5 and needs guidence, and he is a pin trader, who needs guidence because there are those vicious traders out there ready to take advantage of his innocence, He needs his mommies help, and also is a paying customer who desreves every right to buy a pin as the rest of us and there is no way any cast member is going to tell him no he can't. I know i'm a broken record. Not with how much passes cost, and everything else we buy when we go.

Oh P.S your letter well written, very professional, well said. your son desrves an apology. I apologise if I offended anyone out there, not my intent. Just sharing how I feel.

Oh yeah if he brings home yellow he loses 1.00 and red he goes in the corner and loses 5.00, if Jordan gets red mommy sees red! lol and to this day, since the start of the school year, he's only brought home 1 yellow, I guess he wanted to play teacher, the teacher was trying to teach and I guess so was he, I was mad but laughing inside as the teacher was doing the same. LOL.

She was so rude and pointed to my youngest and verbilized that she "didn't count" because she was too young, and then looked at my son and said "he can't do it either. No kids!"

I'm sorry. First of all, to POINT to my child and say that they don't count...I do not even know how to respond to that. I will let you respond for me, because honestly....I am still so upset by it I have already considered with my husband about not renewing our passes when they expire in March because it has left such a negative impression I don't know if I will ever forget it. Secondly, my son is 9. He is an avid pin collector. He "works" around our neighborhood and earns money to buy his own pins. If he is old enough to be charged to visit Disney World, then he has EVERY RIGHT to purchase whatever he pleases. You have no idea how devistated he was to not be able to purchase the pins that we woke up early and drove the distance that we did for. I do regret that I was not able to retain the name of the woman who treated us with such distaste, but my memory has suppressed it because it was truly an aweful experience.

I asked for a manager, and spoke to one. But it was explained to me that it's a "global rule" about only allowing ADULTS to purchase pins and limiting the amount per adult to 2. Honestly at that point, I couldn't get away fast enough. My son was already in tears and I was about to be.

@Echo ^ That right there is why I'd punch the CM in the face, not WILL, "I'd" which = I would. Will I ever? No, as that leads to lawsuits etc and no matter how mad I was that's not a good example for my child. But any parent would "feel" that way if an employee was rude and devastated the kid.

The way you took it was personal and not understanding that I meant it towards the situation as an emotion towards the RUDE employee not CMs following the rules in general. I don't care if you or any CM for that matter is following the rules, if a manager says "you cant sell pins to kids let them know that" don't just be like "he can't do it either. No kids!" and do all sorts of other really rude things as mylittletyguy as said. There is no excuse for a CM to be rude, even with that "rule" they had NO reason to be rude, it's Disneyland for crying out loud, the CM should have been like "I'm so sorry I was told we could not sell to kids for this pin, let me get a manager for you to see if there anything they can do." Even if the manager can't do anything at least the CM isn't being a complete jerk in front of a kid and ruining their experience as this one CM has done.

When someone talks about how they would get physically violent with a cast member, of course I take it personally!! You might be surprised at just how often it does actually happen, even when the cm isn't being rude at all.

Please don't make assumptions about me. I never said it was okay for the cast member in question to act as they did. I never condoned rude behavior in any way, shape, or form. But when someone talks about using physical violence, I take it at face value.

I am curious why after driving all the way to Orlando, that you would not go into one of the parks to get the PODM Lonesome Ghost pins. I know that you were upset with the situation at DTD, but, the ability to get the pins you wanted would have at least make the drive time and distance that you had already done, worthwhile. I think that at least MK and EPCOT still had PODMs on Friday.

I was contracted to photograph a wedding rehearsal and dinner in the afternoon...I didn't have a lot of time and was PRAYING I didn't hit traffic. It was a risk to even go in the first place. I wanted to go, get the pins, and go home. Trust me...if I had time, I would have gone EVERYWHERE to get my 2 at each place so I could have a lot to trade for all the other PODM's that I am trying to get :)

I went by a PM I received about the availablility at DTD, so that's why I went there instead of anywhere else <3

My husband told them at DTD when they did not let him see the cells only handed him two and said thats your choice he said I do not think so I am not paying for something I do not know. and he also told them that when BATB comes out dont think for one min I will not look at them.

I would quite simply means you will. I have to agree with Echo. saying you "would" punch them, means that if the situation occurs, you will. It was not a comment that could be misconstrued. She had every right to be concerned.
Moving on.....

Have you gotten a reply back yet? I assume it was a letter via email not by post office. :) We all want to see if Disney works thier magic.

Very well, a grammar lesson! :)

Will:
1. Intend or desire to.

But if that's still not enough to convince I apologize and reword my sentences.

If a CM was ever rude and made my child cry (of which I have no child and cannot have one unfortunately due to mother nature being cruel and unkind to my body, but that's what doctors are for :D) I will, in my head imagine punching them in the face, in feeling disappointment and anger, curse at them and even attempt to get them fired and let them know that this was not a happy experience, all in my head ;).

In real life however should the CM be rude and make my child cry I would simply walk away and report them later on.

Not to stir the pot, but I'm just now sitting down and catching up on threads when I saw this and the update. I would not stop with this. I would just gently throw out the word discrimination and watch what happens. By telling your two children they can't sell to them, they are discriminating against them and unless rules were given out in advance about not selling to children and posted publicly, this one CM can't make the rules up as she goes. Now that you have proof from these messages that they did indeed sell to other children, I wouldn't drop it. It's not like the pins were free, you are PAYING for them; therefore, you should be able to buy whatever you want to buy. This is insane.

I showed up to DLR PIn traders yesterday at 10:30am and they tried to tell me that they were all out of wristbands and that I would have to wait til 1pm. I told them that there was no way that they could possibly be out of wristbands and that there must be some sort of mix-up or miscommunication. They insisted that all had been handed out and that they had already had sooo many people buy pins there. I asked to speak with a lead since - they still had plenty of pins of the shelf and NO ONE in line. They called and said someone will be right with u.

I waited like 10 minutes then MAGICALLY they said - oh Alan said he is coming with wristbands so I can show u some. So she puts down 5 almost identical scenes. I asked to see more and she says - No I can only show you 5 and you have a three minute time limit. I said - ok but also I can refuse these - get back in line and see 5 more. So I took three steps back and then three steps forward. Ok I'm back. Then she gave a big rude sigh - then said this is the last 5 I can show u. Luckly there were better options in the second bunch. But I just don't understand when there is NO ONE there - why I was given such a hard time.

To be fair they are trying to be fair to everyone who comes up to buy, and following the policy that they are given. If they allow you to sit there and sift through pins for the cream of the crop it might leave only crappy ones for others. Even if it is a less desired pin. To NOT follow policy opens them up to disciplinary actions... so it's kind of a damned if they help you, damned if they don't.

As much as I understand the frustration, as a cast member I really dont appreciate reading about how someone would punch me in the face if I was told by my lead or manager that I wasn't allowed to sell pins to a child under a certain age. =\

Or, you know, get in trouble for breaking policy. I am so sorry people act this way to cast members. *hugs*

My 6 yr old has to pay the same price for his AP as an adult does,
so I would be all kinds of pissy if he was denied the ability to
purchase anything at WDW. The rude behavior is unacceptable,
unnecessary and I'd make sure to let someone know. Sorry you
had such a negative experience.

Lets be fair about this. Many parents are using their kids to buy extra pins for them to trade. They are not buying extra pins for themselves. They are trying to make it accessible for those who might actually WANT the said pin. Look at it from that standpoint.

When my GF and I go for BatB, I'm pretty sure we will be keeping all 4 pins we are allowed to buy for her. I'm only there as a way to buy more pins for her (yes my 2 purchases are for gifts to her, but still). In a way, I am like the kids in this example. But at least the 4 pins are not going as traders because we know everyone will be RABID over these pins. We are buying them to keep. (well, unless we have a Ballroom Scene and someone want to trade a Library for it, as that is the ONLY scene she has said she absolutely does not want) Many people are using kids, friends, family, as a way to get a LOT of these pins and resell them or only as traders. Which leaves people who REALLY want the pin at a disadvantage if they don't have something that you deem "worth" the pin you have. You can see the flaws in the system, right?

When I arrived at the store in the morning I was greeted by a woman and when I asked if any of the Lonesome Ghost pins were still available she directed me to a different counter and register. There was a young man there by the name of Brandon. He was very nice and while he was getting the pins out for me the woman who greeted me came back over and abruptly took over the transaction explaining that I HAD to pick the ONE pin out that I wanted of the few that was already set out. When I asked about purchasing 2 per person and I intended to purchase at least that since I am trying to collect all the piece of Disney movie pins set for myself and one for each of my children. She was so rude and pointed to my youngest and verbilized that she "didn't count" because she was too young, and then looked at my son and said "he can't do it either. No kids!"

Oh. My. Now this is the type of cast member that I don't like. One question, did they use a single finger to point? Because if so, they broke more than one policy...

Yep, they do things like this. THIS is what Disney magic is all about. And these cast members should be commended just like we condemn the bad ones at City Hall. PLEASE remember, if you have an especially good experience with a cast member, please go make a report of that as well... it goes a long way to keeping them acting the right way if one out of the 100 people they likely help go out of their way to make sure they are recognized for it.

*** back to thread.... I hope we get a update soon. cant wait to see how this ends.
