Hey everyone, it's that time again..

After the success of the 2nd charity pin and vinylmation event where we raised £630 and we couldnt have done it with out the help from all you kind pin traders and vinyl collectors who kindly donated to the charity.

The reason I am starting for next year early is that we have plans to have more games on offer for people to have fun at and try and win some great prizes but then the prizes come from you kind guys and gals.

If you happen to have any vinylmations lying around or single pins that you could donate then please think about donating even just 1 pin or 1 vinylmation as every pin/vinyl counts to help us raise money for the charity. And next year hopefully we can raise even more money for the charity which you can read all about here - http://scottwardschofieldmemorialfund.org.uk/

There will be a surprise prize for anyone who donates something. We don't need just pins, anything can be donated plushies, figures, mugs anything Disney is welcomed.

Again thankyou to the continued support of the pin and vinylmation community for donations who help the charity event become a reality. With all the gift giving and zapping and kindness going around the forum lately I hope some of that kindness might go towards helping the children who suffer from EB get holidays and days out which would create magical memories for them and their family.​

Bumping this up to see if anyone has any kindness left in them to donate something this year :) its for a good cause and I see people giving to games and a lot of zapping going on then maybe some of that generosity could be put to donating even a single pin or vinylmation as we (myself and Xlaineyx) can not donate and buy items to donate by ourselves.

Sorry I did not see your post earlier but I will start gathering items for your event.
It takes special people to put together events like this and give up the time it takes to organize it.
The least we can all do is donate something for a good cause and give a little back.
Should be able to get a package out by the first of next week.

Thank you Donna, it means a lot when people can send just a single pin or vinylmation. He loved to pin trade and we do this every year since he passed away (3rd event 2013)

I know I'm not a popular member of the forum but we are trying to provide long lasting memories for the families with a child with EB (not adult) its a cruel disease and if we can give a child a special holiday from the money we raise I know I've done my best.

So, Please think it over as I see lots of page views but nothing but I see people helping others in games etc but this is a genuine charity event and it makes me sad when people can not spare just 1 pin, not even an OE.

Thank you to those who have messaged me regarding my address so far, you don't know how much it means to me and Elaine who run this event solely on our own and in our own time.

For those of us not familiar with this, can you explain how everything works? What do you do with the donations/pins, vinyls, etc. to raise money and how much has been raised/helped those who suffer from this?
Hopefully if this is all more clear you'll get more donations and interest!

For the first event, it was all organised by Elaine single handedly did everything, and the first event I believe we raised £535, when we got donations for the first event Elaine split up the donations into raffle prizes. Everyone was able to buy raffle tickets and they were pulled on the day and recorded who won what if they were not present or were in another country. There was also 2 big pin boards up for grabs at the first event.

The second event I decided to jump on board and help her out with everything. We spilt up the pins and vinyls into tombola prizes (people bought tickets if they matched up to a number on an item they win that item) a Pin raffle and a vinylmation raffle, we also had a game where you picked a disney character and if your character was pulled the person would win the prize. We also had a prize for those who attended and a raffle for those who donated something, which was the UK Tangled Gondola pin (thats one entry per person be it 1 pin to however many)

None of the pins/vinylmation or any donations are sold ANYWHERE! all items donated are used purely as prizes to help raise money for the charity.

We have held two events so far and have raised over £1000 and all from donations from pins and entry tickets from people who attend, the money raised goes to sending families on holiday who's child suffers from EB.
 
Thank you to people who have shown interest, I have noted names in a spreadsheet of who I have sent PM's to so I can keep track.

If anyone else is interested then please let me know.

I am hoping more people decide to help out. I hope its not a rush like last year when we gave away the gondola pin then people wanted to donate something.

Makes me sad when people can't spare a pin or two for such a good cause.

Bumping this up again. seeing views but only a handful of people may be donating something. please if you have any pins lying around or vinylmations you dont want consider donating them as all money raised goes to a good cause.

this is our 3rd year running this so we are trustworthy. people who donate gets entered into a spreadsheet and would recieve a +1 feedback aswell as entered into a prize draw for a pin (to be determined)

thankyou for any time you goive reading this. The holidays the charity provides do change lives for those with EB.

Donations must reach me by the end of September 2013.
