So, I need some advice on feedback. Over the last month, I've been selling off some extra traders as we are moving and I can use the money for house stuff. As usual, 99% of people have paid promptly and been an absolutely pleasure to deal with. My question? At what point (if ever) is it appropriate to leave negative feedback for someone that has asked for you pins, promised to pay and then never pays. I know usually you just move on and get over it, but I've told multiple people they were sold and I just want the transaction to be finished up AND the person has stopped responding to PM's. I promise I'm not being ugly and have even said, just let me know if you don't intend to pay. HELP!

If the person didn't pay and you also never sent them the pin(s) they wanted...I would do nothing except send them a message stating that you are not waiting any longer and will offer the pins to others. And like lucan444 said, exercise caution if you deal with them again.

If the person didn't pay and you already mailed your pin(s) to them I would definitely leave negative feedback...especially if they stopped responding to your PMs. :)

Hi Brea
I agree with the above statements, and you always wait to send if pymt is sent through mail or even paypal, next day there...I would just hold their ID here and use caution if they request pins from you in the future

ditto's...

a sale is not complete until they pay you, then you send. If no payment is made and they keep asking you to hold them over and over... Give the person a deadline for payment and relist once the deadline passes. No feedback for them asking you to hold em forever. I have had it happen once or twice and while it is frustrating, you just have to deal with the facts and move on. The people who do that to me are politely told no when they ask me to hold a sale item now.

In the future when you sell things, you might put in the thread something like "No holds over 24 hours, first come first serve..." etc...

What about neutral feedback? "Requested pins, on hold for X weeks, no payment, stopped communicating." I feel in order for the feedback system to be effective, it needs to protect BOTH sides of the transaction. Obviously, negative feedback for paying and not receiving protects potential buyers from bad sellers, but how does the feedback system protect sellers from bad buyers? Sure, Brea can keep track of a username, but that protects no one else. Sellers have the right to sell their pins in a prompt time frame. And it's just courtesy to tell a seller that you aren't interested anymore.

Yes!

I really like this idea of a neutral feedback for buyers who ask for holds over and over but never buy. I would say it should definitely say something very brief in the comment like "Asked for hold never completed purchase." or something similar.

Sorry I wasn't more clear. Yes, I have held the pins for 3 weeks today with promises of payment. I had told them I had others wanting to buy and they repeatedly told me they wanted them and would pay. Of course, now they have backed out after I put out this thread. I'm just frustrated as this happened to me a couple of years ago with another buyer who I held and then they backed out and I gave them the benefit of the doubt on another item and they did the same. I could have easily sold these pins three weeks ago and now they are literally completely packaged ready to go and I've got to undo all of that. Just a vent.

I think the neutral feedback is a good idea. This time I'm not going to do anything simply because I don't want to be ugly, etc. I think it's a great idea about payment being due within a certain time.

I guess my whole thing is: don't be shopping if you don't have the money. It's really simple. If I don't have money, I don't even look. No temptation!

THANKS for letting me vent and I'm off to update my sales thread :(

Just as an FYI - a seller CANNOT leave negative nor neutral feedback on any BUYER. Only a BUYER can leave less than positive feedback. Also, if you leave negative comments in a Positive Feedback -Ebay will remove it as well...if requested by the BUYER.

All a Seller can do on Ebay with a Non-Paying Bidder is open and case in the Resolution Center; and then hope they pay. If after that..and they don't pay -Ebay will return to you the listing fee and the commission charged. Then you have the choice to put the BUYER On your Blocked Buyer List...but that is about the worst you can do to them.

Wish I had better news..but EBAY is BUYER focused.

And a quick PS - Ebay is actually the BEST place to buy pins..even if they might prove fake -as there is a Buyer Protection Policy -that is pretty easy going and refunds money for basically any reason -even "I changed my mind"....

My 1 Cent..(I used to have 2 cents.. but I live in California and the taxes just increased..AGAIN).

I think the topic is feedback on DPF not ebay. :)
