Opinions Needed on New Form of Trading...
Pixie, it could also work out in a more complicated manner. Perhaps A wants a grail the B has. C has one or two pins that B wants, but it's not enough, but D has another two pins which would then be enough. A could end up sending pins to C and D, and even C and D could work out something else to make everything equitable.

Bottom line, it's a free-for-all, but as long as people are happy with what they're giving and receiving, everything is fine.

My only concern would be sniping the list. Say, member X offers pin 1234 for pin 2345 as part of the chain. Now, what if somebody (not in the chain) has pin 2345 and wants pin 1234. This could be a 1-1 trade for those two memebers, but it could kill the grail chain...

Good question... Wanna see what Moe thinks but::

personal opinion: folks were worried about bid sniping in the auction house too. But it rarely, if ever occurs due to the fact that EVERYONE would see your sniping actions. Trader X may attempt to snipe pin 1234, but they need to either contact the person with the pin via PM or post right there in the thread. IN the thread, people would see it, and trader X would be frowned upon for such an action. Via PM, the trader being contacted for a private trade instead has their own integrity to consider. THEY joined the trade chain, to back out now would ALSO be very frowned upon. Either way, you have a good reputation to keep and both traders involved would be rather "shunned" for the action.

+1 - seems to me there could be a rule that, if you post as the next link in the chain, the pin(s) offered are 'locked' for some reasonable period of time (much like auction bids are locked if you are in the lead)

That sounds like an amazing idea. I saw a story where people got together to help some one find their grail pin and this would be a great way for multiple people to be able to find and get their grail pins. I like it and would love to see it in action (:

thinking about doing this for myself but im beggining to think that my grail on trades list is a myth xD I hope you both get yours, I will help where I can.

lol I feel the same way some of the pins on my signatures (I'm looking at you Jessica as Cat Burglar)...

It's a cool idea, but now I feel like the threads are just going to flood in.

My exact though xD I would definitely try to help but I'm going to have to wait and see first before I start my own, it all sounds very confusing at the moment but not confusion. Which is more confusing because I understand the whole thing, but I just know if 7 people are involved things might get nasty O_O And then comes the problem that what if one person has an unreasonable request like persay, they say I have Pin A but I'll only trade it for Rapunzel Reveal/Conceal (nobody would ever say that but I'm just speaking of pin that far exceeds whatever pin they are trading) thereby ending the chain because nobody would actually trade that pin for something else.

Maybe he added it after the fact, but the 7-day time limit sounds like a reasonable "locking down" time through which you can't back out. It is only a week so it isn't like something deadly is going to happen in that time ^_^
