In light of a few conversations I would like to bring this to everyone's attention.

There needs to be a legit rules section added to the Games Forum. In light of SEVERAL games, not pointing fingers at anyone in particular, please understand this, but some games have been cause a lot of anger and hate all across the forum. It might not be out right but it is there.

I think we should talk about a universal set of rules that be sticky-ed and followed in the games forum. EVERYONE seems to have their own idea of what they should be, what guidelines should be followed and when things aren't up to par, there are many people very upset.

YES. YOU TAKE A CHANCE ON A GAME. I know this. But with a set of rules to follow or guidelines it may ease some of those tensions and make things run smoother.

I would love it if people would help come up with some official guidelines.

Some things that I'd like to suggest as other members have been talking about these things lately:

-ALL pins in an game should be KNOWN. Pictures or pins should all be listed
-Games should have a deadline to fill up. And should be stated BEFORE hand if they will be played or not played if game fills up
-Virtually all DPF rules about scrappers and fakes, should be the norm...lol
-Players should be notified as soon a possible if there is a hold up with the game

These are just a few ideas, please bring your ideas in! But please leave your anger at the door.

I love your ideas. I do believe that people should be able to see what pins are available. Plus a list of the pins and the numbers they correspond to should be sent to a mod before the game begins. That way if anybody has an issue they can check with the mod to be sure the game was straight up.

I agree with all of the above. I think that, at minimum, the Pinpics # of every pin should be listed, and the slots assigned to pins should be sent to the mods in advance

I agree that this is a good idea. Same with auctions, although there are rules. It seems like the same members put up auctions and only certain people win, no matter what others bid. Then you have those that put up auctions and barely no one bids. It seems cliquey. I also noticed one member that puts up auctions and the same person wins, but keep their pins because they don't get the bids they want. I can't prove it and not pointing fingersd, but I have caught on. Thank You Romancing_Train!

my 5.. no 10.. no.. 99 cents?

Personally I do not take part in the games because my impression was they are all $$ for a spot. Which i cannot afford. Any money is out of my budget for an "unknown" pin. I will only spend money on something I know and recognize. These chance games are totally out for me.

IF I were to be interested in a game: (using a raffle style game as example)
  1. All pins being given away should be worth the price of entry. If not I ain't playin'.
  2. All pins in the game should be announced, listed or pictured in the OP, and in the "Game Master's" hands at time of the OP.
  3. There should be a start and end time for entry.
  4. A list of what prizes/pins are for each spot should be required to be given to a MOD ((I will discuss that a bit more later in this reply))
  5. Regardless of weather or not all spots are filled, the game Drawing should be done within 24 hours of the close of Entry's.
  6. All winners should be announced on the Thread within 24 hours of end game, or drawing.
  7. All pins should be shipped within 48 hours of end of game.
  8. All entry money should include the shipping cost and be paypal'd as a sale, not as a gift.

Now, here's the thing... I assume that everyone who plays gets a prize. again, if not, I ain't playin'. I do not like games of chance, but if i am going to take a chance i better be getting something other than a hidden mickey for my $. I am not paying $10+ into a game where I might get a freaking scrapper or hidden mickey.

As to all Game Masters giving a list to a MOD... I think we need a MOD specifically to monitor the Games, & Auctions Forums. I would merrily volunteer if i thought you would actually seriously consider me for a MOD position. Someone who JUST handles all the issues that arise in the Auction house and Games forum. I know you are going to get getting more MODs together. Can we please consider one for just these tasks?

A Mod to monitor the games is a great idea, since just keeping track of all the pin/spot lists will be a bit of a job. I'd also be happy to help (if anyone would take me seriously)...up here in the Great White North no one is going to accuse me of being in any real or imagined 'cliques'.

I total agree with you on PayPal as well...it's just safer. Also...if there is a specific "grand/grail prize" and the spots do not fill up in time that prize should have to be given to an occupied spot. They cannot say an empty number was randomly chosen for the grail.

I personally think this is an excellent idea.
I vote for Psycho Pixie to monitor the Auctions & Games. Will prevent the scams. She can make sure that pins are truly sent out. Tracking numbers can be PM'd to her.

I just want to say for the record that I have played in....well almost all of the games that have been on here and I have never once received any fake pins, had any issues with delivery and the all around experience has been awesome.

If they say that an empty spot was the grail pin then they should be able to back it up because they would have already sent the list with the numbers to the mod. Why should they be forced to award the pin if nobody guessed correctly and since the numbers and pins are already assigned, who decides who would get it?

Just an idea could be every single spot has a predetermined pin assigned, then a public random number is chosen that replaces the prize of that slot?

But even then two people would have to be involved (Such as the seller and moderator).

But an active moderator looks like it is a must for these games threads. And hopefully someone active.

I for one really like the games I have played with Truckinallgt. I have not won the major prize yet but I am extremely happy with what I get as a consolation prize. I really like how even though I don't know what pins I am getting she has always based the pins I have gotten based on what I am collecting and what is on my wants list. I will play in more games like that opposed to games where I may get a random pin that I know I won't care for. :)
