Does anyone know why the back of my Stitch invasion DLRP Indiana Jones pin is like this?

Do you mean the grainyness? That's just a type of backing that disney uses for some of their pins. The thing that is questionable to me though is the LE number is missing... That usually means the pin is a counterfeit/scrapper but pin on pins aren't usually scrapped that often. Maybe someone with a bit more knowledge on this will correct me? Maybe posting a picture of the front of the pin may help too.

I think she means the missing # for the LE. And I have no idea why. Does the front of the pin look good?

I have put a picture on pin comparison, the front looks the same as a what I believe to be original.

Sorry I don't know about this pin. I have seen some Pinpics descriptions of DLRP pins that say the # is missing or is XXX, but that doesn't seem to be the case here. If the front looks good it may be that this pin just missed getting numbered?

Be patient and hopefully someone will be more familiar with this pin. (FYI, you are only allowed to bump a thread once per day.)

You could also try adding a comment to the Pinpics listing, asking if anyone else has this pin with the number missing.

I thought this meant a Paris AP pin? I've also never seen a fake pin-on-pin pin.

oh gee that is weird....i agree with above...on pinpics in the additonal info box post your brief concern on no number on the additon size. see what others say

If it was an AP wouldnt it have AP stamped on it? My understanding is that this pin was probably made extra, over and above the 1200 pieces, so thats why it is not stamped with a number. It would probably have been taken out the back door by an employee, hence regarded as a scrapper.

I have a pin like that too, I can't remember which paris pin it is, I will go have to look but I do have one too like that.

It looks too good to be a fake. I'm casting a vote for an AP pin. An AP collector will have to verify though, as I'm not overly familiar with how Paris marks AP pins.

I vaguely remember reading an article years ago (I think it was on ODPT or the official Disney pin blog) ... any way, as I recall Paris didn't used to put the "AP" on the pin and it was normal for an AP pin NOT have a number indicated as to which of # in the LE that pin was ... I as recall this was often the case for pre-production pins ... as well as the AP pin. I also agree that the pin-on-pins have not been scrapped or counterfeited ... so far. (it's too costly a process).
