I've never had so many problems with them in one week before. Stuff is taking forever to show up. Things aren't getting scanned. Is it just bad luck or does the sequester have something to do with it?

No, you are not the only one having problems with USPS. I just received a package with my own name on it. Then a few days later USPS came to my doorstep and said they delivered the wrong package and demanded that I give it back. I showed him the package with my name on it and he apologized. Your not the only one.

My local post office has been whacky lately. Some days they let me get a delivery confirmation number and some days they don't. It's very tiresome.

I have had the worst experiences for a few months now. I just purchased two pins from eBay, both shipped with tracking, and the numbers aren't even showing as accepted. I also attempted to track another pin from a member here and it claimed the number didn't exist, however when I received the package the numbers did in fact match up. Postal rates go up and service quality goes down? Me no likey!! They "lost" a package I sent to lost-sun-princess for crying out loud, and I shipped it priority with $300 worth of insurance! I don't know what more I can do to ensure my packages arrive! @_@

One of my PO guys said to expect this a few months ago. I asked why and he said because of plants/hubs closing down. Not sure why that would affect the other hubs, other than more mail. Maybe slow things down, but so many other problems??? We need another way to handle smaller mail. The PO just doesn't work.

The post office is dreadfully slow when I am getting something from Europe, especially the UK. It took the USPS over 2 months to send me my pin from the UK. The person I traded with got their pin within 3 weeks. USPS is pretty good at getting my pins I get domestically and from Canada to me pretty quickly. A couple weeks ago it took almost 2 weeks to get a pin from France. Every other time it took maybe a week tops.

I sometimes wonder if all the "lost" packages happened to have been insured. I also wonder if those same packages would have made it without insurance. Insurance just seems to target the package for getting lost.

I just don't think insurance is worth it, since they often make you jump through hoops to file a claim and you will likely only get back the original costs; if you get anything at all.

Also problems when recieving stuff from outside of the US?

Because I shipped 4 envelopes to 4 members over here 2,5 weeks ago.
It normally takes 5 weekdays to get to the US, and it's been taking 16 days in general already o_O

Sequester has nothing to do with it. The Post Office is funded by services paid and stamps, not tax dollars. Part of the problem is they have to fund so much in pensions that they can't make enough money to cover it. That's why they are closing hubs and stopping Saturday deliveries, to try to save money.

Delivery has been slowing down for a while now. A letter that once was delivered the next day now takes two days to send.

Well, I've been waiting for about 3 - 4 weeks for one package to come from the states. I don't know if that's because of the postal service or because the person I traded with is just running behind...lol

Bad luck? Do you take the item(s) to the post office, stand in line and request a pre-paid mail acceptance receipt?

Delivery confirmation is only supposed to give you confirmation of delivery, not be scanned along the way.

As an internet retailer I send out hundreds of packages a week. Ever since they announced the possibly of not delivering mail on Saturday's we've had so many problems. We are having multiple issues with packages being returned as "undeliverable as addressed" even though it is a good address. We are on the phone almost every other day trying to staighten out one shipment after another. Grrrr....

I had my paycheck which usually takes a day to get to me take 5 days two weeks ago which really sucked. Its only 40 miles, you wouldn't think it would take 5 days! The last few times I have gone to the post office to mail packages was awful, one or two people behind the counter and long lines, it's really made me not want to trade anymore since going to the post office is such a pain in the you-know-what.

I've had two "status not updated" messages recently. This is when they scan the package as it is out on the truck to be delivered, but forget to scan it again when it actually gets delivered. The system sees that it should have been delivered already, but since it was not scanned it gives the "not updated" message. Luckily in both cases the other person did receive the package, but it bugs me that you pay for DC and they don't bother scanning it.

Oh wow! I've had them scan delivered before it even gets onto the truck :P

USPS Delivery Confirmation it is called USPS tracking now. It is no longer scanned in, that is dependent on the clerk if they want to add it on to you. Seems to me you have some lazy people working at your post office.

Please note that the delay in shipping could be because of customs not the post office?

Please note that USPS WILL NOT be stopping delivery on Saturday. It was a proposed plan that in August they stop delivering letters, the post office says this was to save costs because not as man LETTERS are being delivered on saturdays, this will most likely not occur because by law they cannot stop delivering first class letters. As far as the "undeliverable as addressed" that could be due to the carrier in that area. If they people are ordering from you are new residents and not notified the post office that they moved there he could be returning it as he thinks it is vacant. I have never had an issue with "undeliverable as addressed" only issues is when I put the wrong zip code or street name.

Yes, many problems, mostly in delays. It's now taking 3 days for a letter to cross counties whereas it used to be 1 day. As far as pins, I've had a few get lost, even with tracking. It seems that once the Saturday thing was announced, internal animosity ran so high that it's now affecting service. I'd like to believe that's only in my mind, but it's my theory at the moment.

+1. I think they (the postal workers) don't care anymore. It's difficult to get fire them...
