I'm going to Disneyland on Sunday to hang out with some friends but I will probably get there an hour or more earlier than my friends will. I haven't been to either store so I was wondering which place would be the best place to check out? :)

What would be your recommendation and why?? :)

I really like Frank & Son. You can get pins fairly reasonable and there is one person (Melinda) who will even trade with you. I wish they were open more often.

Franks was overwhellming, but we did get some good OE pins at good prices (but i do wonder HOW this particular guy had sooo many current pins and 1/3 price?) There were a few LE sellers, and i found their prices relative to MYDppins if not higher. HI Michelle!

I love My D Pins. Being friends with the owners doesn't hurt, but they're great people and have a really wide selection of pins at fair prices! Frank & Sons is a huge warehouse that has lots of vendors, mostly non-pin. Action figures, cards(sports, Pokemon, you name it), random collectibles, etc. There are a few vendors, like Melinda, that do have pins, but I myself like My D Pins better. :)It has everything from $2 traders to $300 grails and everything in between!

Actually, it depends on what you're looking for. If you're looking for OE pins, then Frank & Son's (they have those crest pins for $5, lots of princess pins for $3 each, etc. Frank & Son's =- parking is horrible and they are only open Wed and Sat.

There are some LE sellers but their prices were high (even compared to ebay sometimes).

If you are looking for more of a selection, My-D pins, which is open daily.

my-D pins now sells pins at frank & sons and Josh is normally there on Saturdays not the shop .... so yeah ...there is that.

The folks who say franks is only good for OE pins must have never bought any of Melindas 15$ DSF pins like I did when I bought ALL the DSF Mulan and Oz pins for 15$ each.

I visited her booth. She saves the DSF pins for people who spend a lot of money at her booth. Me, I was a first time buyer at Frank & Son's.

And yes, My D Pins now sells pins (started this weekend) at Frank & Son's. Josh said he was trying it out (when I was walking down the aisles, I saw his new booth and went over)

My-D pins, if Josh is there, will sometimes trade pins, and of course buy pins. I haven't been to Frank & Sons yet but also wonder about the brand new OE pins that are below even CM prices. 5 finger discounts perhaps?

I always wondered that as well. When we went there, the one stand had 2 guys running it and it was on both sides of the aisle. (Not sure if you know who I mean or not.) But anyway, they had a massive amount of OE pins. They even had ones that had only just released a week or two prior to us going there and they were $5. I was VERY curious as to how they were selling them at that price, considering they would cost more than that even with a 20% cast discount. Even the 40% holiday discount wouldn't have made it a profitable plan.

I haven't been to Frank and Sons in awhile. To be honest the horrible parking situation turns me off. Is Melinda the lady with a booth in the middle of the warehouse away from the other pin sellers? If she is, she is the seller I buy from most. Her prices are very, very good. My D Pins is great and parking is rarely bad in their lot plus there's a comic book store in the same shopping center.

Five finger discount? That's kinda rude..
I don't like either, they make me go broke!

Out of preference for pins I like, My D pins is the wayto go.
Franks is kinda all over the place and Melinda is ALWAYS swarmed

For My D Pins... it's a fabulous store w/ all kinds of pins (grails, most wanted, HMs, middle of the road pins) all at fabulous prices! If u would like a wide variety... I recommend My D Pins over Frank and Sons.

I actually juuuuust visited Frank and Son's 2 weeks ago. Their hours are somewhat odd; they are only open wednesdays (until 10pm I believe) and sundays (until 5pm). I think there's only about 3 to 4 booths total that have pins, the rest are other collectibles like legos, beanie babies (omg flashback!), action figures, comics, and so on. Very cool stuff to look at tho :3

In terms of pins though, only 1 booth interested me pin wise bc the pins were so cheap ($2 to $5 ones), and the pins were all OE rack pins that u typically see in the park stores nowadays. I think that particular booth is great if u wanna get those as traders w/out breaking the bank, but other than that... meh lol

Care to offer a different suggestion? It's either their fake, scrapped, "fell off the CM truck" or stolen. There is no other reason someone would buy pins and then sell them below their own cost and purposely lose money. The recent Princess crests are a great example. They were at Frank and Sons for sale like the next day after release. Tons of them for $5. They're $11.95 pins in the park, even with a 20% AP or CM discount that's still over $10 with tax. And if they are subsidizing pins to buy completer hidden mickey pins you're still not breaking even even at eBay prices.

Oh yes of course I would totally be down! I'll PM u mah numbah ;) And yes the end of the party was EPIC!!!

I go to Frank and Sons a lot because it is closer to my house. I have known Melinda for years. She is extremely fair, and always offers her pins at great prices. I have only started going to My D-Pins recently, but I definitely feel like they have a better variety of mid to high level pins.

Wow, that is what I was wondering when I saw that, too! I thought it was very strange! To the OP, I think My Dpins is closer to Disneyland than F&S, but I'm not sure. That might help you make your decision. Good luck and have fun!!

My D-Pins is definitely a lot closer...It's about 10-15 minutes up the road from Disneyland. Frank & Sons is about 30-40 minutes, but could be much worse depending on what time of day you head there.
