Hey everyone,

So I have a pin that has a broken post, the problem is that it's not an entire post it's just the spike part. I tried glueing together with this glue that's suppose to be really good, but when I tried putting it on my lanyard it came back off again! UGH it's so frustrating since the pin is a really good one :( any help would suffice, thank you :)

Here is a pic, I can't really do a close up (I'm using an iPhone)

NEW: Thanks everyone for the good wishes. Does anyone know how to break a post off another pin so maybe I can just replace the post (because the only thing that is broke is the spike)?

Sorry to hear about your pin post Clara! I hate it when that happens and I usually just give up on the pin and sell it for a lot less than it's worth haha. A local jewelry shop can fix it for you if you bring it in. They'll just weld the material together and BOOM! Of course they'll probably charge you. What's the pin if I may ask?

It's the Jasmine carousel pin! UGH! If they mess it up I will cry haha I'm going to go ask to see how much they charge, but maybe because working with gold and metal is different?

I'm also considering some tougher glue or something..

OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!!!!! :o Are you SERIOUS!? The Jasmine carousel, as in the DA LE 100!? I am SO sorry!!! :o :o :o I feel your pain, I would cry if that happened to me LOL! I don't even own that pin but OMG, the precious Jasmine DA grail! :( </3

I hope you get it fixed really soon, Clara! Crossing my fingers for you! :D

If you love your pin THAT much, get it done. Glue just will not suffice. Talk about a bad pin to have it happen to...

BTW is that why the pin is still on your wants? Hahaha

I know, Thanks Chalon! Yea I'm SO sad. But i haven't lost hope!

hahaha OMG Marvyn, it's on my owns too! I haven't been able to update my siggy which I will soon because now there are other grails that I am looking for haha

OH SNAP Clara! We're so sorry that happened to your Jasmine Carousel! If it makes you feel better...a post from our designer princess Ariel pin broke off..but thank goodness it was the bottom post and not the top! Since its in our collection and were gonna keep it forever..we didnt let it bother us too much, but its still a pain knowing one of the posts is not there -_- . lol. GOOD LUCK fixing yours!!!

Oh yea! Cat mentioned that to me a couple of days ago, but you're lucky it was the whole post because it's easier to put back that way. This Jasmine is in my collection forever too but I get frustrated looking at it like that :(

if the glue wont hold the post in the little round part, the whole thing needs replacing.

Yes, this is what I am trying to do. But I'm not sure how to take off them stump part off :( I have another rack pin that has a similar post so I'll take it off the other pin, but again I'm not sure how to take it off.

P.S have you been able to get a hold of the guy that can fix posts?

Perhaps you can try a little JBWeld to repair it?

Sacrifice a scrapper pin, as a test unit, and make a similar post break. Apply JBWeld. Wait 24 hours. Test the results. If it works, repair the original pin breakage.
