Limited Edition 17" Collector Dolls Information
The 10th seems like such a strange day to me....have any LE been released on a Wednesday?

Considering it's quite close, even if the date is the 29th, that's only 3 weeks away- you'd think we'd have seen more pictures by now!

I agree Mali the 10th is an odd date as the site is usually update with new items on the Monday and from the past releases of LE dolls they have all been on a Monday with maybe one or two exceptions to coincide with movie release etc. so if anything it will be released either today, the 15th or the 29th, heck you might as well add the 22nd just for good measure. But I think just to be sure it might be worthwhile checking it everyday should disney decide to surprise release ariel on an unexpected date to throw us off. The photo taken of her was never meant to be leaked and as pointed out by ladyrosalie they usually release some info about the release prior to preorders coming out. Be it sneak peeks on the Disney store Facebook page or an article on the buzz either way it is odd that no actual official news has been released yet.

i just find it really odd that Disney is being so secretive, so far as to fire the employee that took the leaked picture. It is odd but may just be their way of trying to keep us all excited and try to throw off the scalpers. Either way it would probably be in good measure to just check the site every now and then as we should be expecting it to be released this month. If not some information/statement should pop up soon from Disney announcing the doll and the release date etc.

well, last year, there wasn't an expo and I think that's why the dolls were at the consumer showcase, that has already happened this year and the video was posted on Stitchkingdom.

I think you are correct, I just watched it and they revealed practically nothing... I am not enjoying this expo year. Last year was much more fun; knew when everything was coming out, got all I wanted, and no hassles. But there is no reason to get depressed, just need to prep for a crazy dolly year and save up!

Looks like this is not the week Ariel is to be released for preorders. But as pointed it by other members there are other TLM merchandise which have been released.

I am still banking on a July 29 release but better to be safe than sorry.

I was at the Southcenter Mall Disney Store in Tukwila, WA on Saturday and I spoke to both a cast member and a store manager, and they had no idea what I was talking about. They though I was talking about the pre-order on the movie.

The store manager told me that they get their information about a week before the public, and to just keep checking the store's site and facebook page.

Welp, called and no new news. The manager told me they normally get debriefings on Mondays, as well as things are released in general on Monday as well. Guess it's gonna be another week of waiting!

I have some news. I just went to my Disney Store, and they told me the pre-order for Ariel will be July 15 in stores. At least, it is set up in FL for this date.

The associate didn't know how to answer this question. She said that the store will receive the LE Ariel during this week, and Monday will be the pre-order.

Oh gosh, this is nervewracking! Is it possible different parts of the US have different release dates? How soon are DS employees notified of LE doll releases in-store? Will the online preorder be the same day, before, after, or when? Pardon the questions, I've just never been through the process of getting a LE from the Disney Store and I don't want to miss out on my favorite Disney character of all time!

Could someone explain me how does the Preorder process works in stores? Do you have to pay the whole price of the doll, or do you only leave a porcentage of the full price? Also, I heard before that costumers that preorder the Princess doll, get preference over getting the Villain surprise release. Is it true?

The store manager at the Southcenter Mall in Washington told me they usually get their information a week before any special items are coming in. He told me this on Saturday, so if what the associate told nessamgm85 is true, then that coincides with the manager at my mall told me on Saturday - if they got information this morning, and the release date is the 15th, then that's a week's notice! ;)

I don't believe customers have preferences if they buy the princess.

The associate was pretty sure about the date. I hope is true because I will be there at the store just waiting to be open. In fact, I will try online first if does not pop-up anything, I will be heading to the store.

No, the entire US (and possibly Canada) will have pre-orders of the LE doll at the same day, when they open during normal business hours. The online pre-order will almost certainly be early morning the same day, usually just after midnight Pacific Time, although it usually becomes "live" (rather than hidden) at around 12:30 am. This is based on what has happened before, although the Disney Store is certainly free to change the procedure at any time.

Again, based on what has been the past procedure, you must pay the entire amount of the doll when you pre-order. You don't have to pay for shipping, since you come back to the same store to pick up your doll when the doll is formally released. In this case, it coincides with when the Diamond Edition is released, on Tuesday Oct 1, 2013.

What happened with Lady Tremaine was that it was a "surprise" release at the same time as the formal release (NOT pre-order) of LE Cinderella, which was Oct 2, 2012. If you pre-ordered Cinderella, you had no better chance of getting Lady Tremaine than any other customer of the store. In other words, it was first come, first served for the LE Lady Tremaine doll.

The only way you would get any prefrence is that if you bought the previous then they will call you they day or so before the pick up. date to let you know your doll is in, and if there is a surprise release then you will be informed then. At least that is what the Temecula, CA store does

Thank you for your answers. So does this mean, to avoid missing out, I should focus on getting her online at midnight instead of at the store 10+ hr. later? And does DisneyStore.com's free shipping offer apply to LEs?

Yes, the free shipping code will work for LE dolls. I have never had a problem.
