Noooo clue if this has been started yet, my brief search didnt yield anything. IF it has been started elsewhere, feel free to merge them MOD's...

but this discussion is for the upcoming pins, not the event as a whole.

So, here we go! ODPT updated their august listings and a bunch of D23 pins are listed.

To get these pin you need to be a D23 member and have tickets to the event... However, some of these are likely to have leftovers and be available to D23 member in the disney stores after the event right?

Ahhhh those Cars and Toy Story pins are awesome!! I'm really interested in them if anyone gets a hold of them!! Thanks in advance!!

I thought you only had to be a D23 member to get the piece of Disney history Chip n Dale pin and the Disney Legends pin

Some of the pins say only available at the event, and some say you must have a D23 card to purchase. To get tickets to the event I beleive you also need to be a D23 member? someone please correct me if I am wrong on this one... So my assumption is you need a D23 membership either way, and need to be AT the expo to get some of these.

Don't need to be a D23 member to get tickets, but there is a discount on the ticket price if you are a member.

If someone ends up with an extra Day and Night pin they don't want, please let me know and maybe we can work out payment/trade. I really wish I could make it to the Expo. It looks like a lot of fun. Although it seems it would be rather stressful trying to get to the different stores to get pins/merchandise.

You do not need to be a D23 member to attend, the have general public tickets, but you do have to be a member to purchase some of the pins being offered and I think you will need to be a member to enter Mickeys of Glendale, which is setting up at the event and will be selling pins and other items.

Any one can enter and buy at the popup Mickeys of Glendale store inside the Parks & Resorts Pavilion. In fact, Mickeys of Glendale cancelled a D23 Saturday in June and an annual July sale at the Disneyana Fan Club Expo, in order to be ready for the August D23 Expo.

All of the pins were previewed at the Tiki Room event; I was impressed with the mystery box pins. They looked much better in person, than the photos. They showed the prototypes for the D23 pins which had a shining gold finish, rather than the matte finish in the photos.

Some very nice pins. Added a few to my wants list. Simba of course is my favorite. So nice to see a different pose. Like both Maters to.

Hope everyone who attends has a great time.

How do chasers and variants work? We'd like Bambino from La Luna (Pixar Shorts). Should we go through the trouble of trying to trade for all three (reg, chaser and variant) or how does it work? AND are variants the same amount as regulars? And anyone have a heads up on the LE size of the chasers?

According to the Sorcerer package RSP forum chasers are LE 200. As to how the chasers/variants work they are randomly assorted into the mystery boxes. I have not bought a D23 Mystery Pack before but I would guess you could receive two regular pins or a regular pin and a chaser/variant. For trading it might be hard. From last years expo chaser pins for the WDW 40th pin set were hard to find. I know people on eBay listed them for upwards of $80 for 1 chaser. I would recommend trying 1 or 2 boxes, then first trying to trade. If not I would go on ebay and wait for a reasonably priced chaser/variant to come up. I hope this helps, and if not let me know and I will answer the best I can

Has anybody heard of all the pins will be released on the 9th. I only ask this as there are 3 LE 1000 pins and 3 days of the expo. Coincidence, I think not. The Pin website says all 3 will be released on the same day, August 9th, but I doubt. Does anyone else have a thought on this? Am I crazy for thinking this?

The pins will be sold to the sorcerer passholders on Thursday, August 8, the day before the Expo starts. Those passholders have already been sent the Advanced Order forms to order the D23 Expo pins and have been charged for the pins orders. Limits were two pins per person per design and 25 mystery boxes per person. They might also be able to buy more on that Thursday before the Expo opens.

I got my D23 tickets on my birthday (Saturday!) which was awesome! Anyway, I'm thrilled there is at least a Lion King pin, now I just have to find someone trading it because I don't want to buy the boxes just for one pin! LOL!
