2013 Fairytale Designer Collection
BTW guys I uploaded more pics of the expo including more pics of the designer dolls, i tried to take pictures after remembering points raised by people on the forum, I can take more as I will be going back tomorrow, so if there is something specific you wanted to see, let me know and I will try take the pics tomorrow.

Sorry I am not able to upload the pics individually on here as I just dont have the time but you can check it out on my flickr
http://www.flickr.com/photos/100074308@N03/

Like I said, please feel free to share these photos or even link them on here if you like.

Thank you for posting the pictures! I'm excited for the Fairytale Designer Dolls. I'm also excited for the 17" Eric, although if I managed to get one I'd probably fix that hair. Too poofy.

Thank you so much for all of the pics Polaris. I really appreciate the effort. The link is more than sufficient. The one pic I would like to see is a pic of the Designer Ariel & Eric set that is facing Ariel. None of the pics that I've seen on the Internet get her straight on and I would like to see what her face looks like.

I really love the way they did the princesses' eyes for this collection, particularly Ariel's and Rapunzel's. They look stunning.

100 Snow White on ebay is just crazy, irrational, illogical. :|
The funny-crazy thing is the reaction of people for these sets: on facebook TONS of people say: "I will not get them! TOO PRICEY! 129 Dollars!!!" and after it? ALL in line for a "exclusive" limited snow white, who cost 129 as well!... Very consistent..very smart!

I mean: money are important, but,.. seriously? You buy a limited doll and resell her the same day? And not 10-20 on ebay,..100 +!!!

...I have really no words inside for this thing :|

Come on! DON'T buy these dolls! They will be lower someday. Resist to the temptation.. if you want Snow white you have 2 chances August 20 and 21!

I'm sorry for many of you wish to buy her and don't have it! Specially for the user ElysionsPrincess :(

Crazy people, is so unfair. Disney should change radically something (maybe check the buyer is a true collector ? A photo with the buyer and his collection ,:D? I'm crazy too?)
I agree, it's such a shame that doll collecting turns into such a farce, and that people who have no interest in this other than making fast cash are succeeding and the true collectors leave empty handed. I'm wondering whether to go to the Snow sale next week if this is the sort of thing I will encounter.

I've got a dumb question/would like some advice on ordering...

Last year I ordered the designer villains one by one with no problem online, and I know this year it will be harder to do because the smaller edition size. My predicament is this: I pre-ordered the 17" Ariel doll, and they haven't taken the money out of my account, but if they WERE to do that, I wouldn't have enough to cover the full pre-order of the Fairytale collection... However, once I get my semester refund for books, etc. in September, I will have enough for both pre-orders. So, for people who have experience pre-ordering the whole set online in the past, do they do frequent account charge checks? Or do they sort of just do one at the beginning and wait until October to do the next one?

My biggest fear is that they'll decide to charge check both at the same time and they'll see there isn't enough funds in the three week span between the 12th (pre-order Fairytale date) and the 4th of September (when I get my refund)... does anyone know how frequently they check? HELP! :banghead:

Hi Guys,

Dont forget that even with the restriction of one per doll that does not stop sorcerer members or anyone really from going to the Disney Store the next day and then buying the dolls again. So whilst the Disney Store was very strict on this policy they do not really have a way of monitoring whether or not a person has already purchased a doll or not. To be honest everyone's tickets had a barcode that could be scanned. I think what Disney should try to implement is that the barcode be used to link the sale to, that way whenever a person buys a doll it gets linked to the ticket via the barcode so if they try to purchase another they will have their barcode scanned and it will tell the cast member that the person has already purchased one.

By the time I got into the DisneyStore today it was about 12:30pm and there were no dolls left, no pins and no designer lithos, there were however still some Ariel lithos. They still also had some Designer sets for pre-order hence why i thought that either they had about 1,000 sets for preorder or that not very many people had ordered them in advance.
Polaris, thank you for the photos, I am so sad that you traveled so far to be shut out. I hope you enjoy the rest of D23 and not let the greedy people ruin it for you. It looks awesome from all of your pictures.

Polaris,
If you go back to the store tomorrow, is there any way you can get me one of the Ariel lithos please? I'm not sure if they'll release it on the DisneyStore.

I'll pay for shipping, taxes, and the item of course.
I don't want to feed the scalpers.

And if you can please get a closer shot of the Nightmare Before Christmas watch, I'll be more than happy :D

Thank You so much!

Do you think that the huge Ursula Vinylmation will be limited to the D23 store? I'd really like to get one.

I am not sure about the Ursula and if she is LE or not, I think she may be as there were issues with people grabbing more than one when they were not allowed to.

Hi Polaris, thank you so much for your amazing pictures, I can't wait for the fairytale collection ...

Maybe you have more informations about the Frozen set of classic dolls released today at 40 dollars, Is it only available at the D23 expo or only sold in advance ?
Thank you very much and sorry if this is off-topic ...

I believe the frozen dolls are just sold in advance, they will definitely have them available on the Disney store website as they are not limited.

Ah Alright. Thanks! I managed to grab the 3 pack Ursula Vinyl from eBay at a reasonable Price. I really hope that they release this online. My best friend friend is a huge fan of Ursula. But right now, all that I really care about are the lithos. Since there are people on eBay who are selling multiple sets, for 150 USD and upwards!

I agree they should have limited it to 1 per person for the entire event! Some sorcerers were bragging they got one every day and were going to sell it! I flew all this way and camped out 2 days straight and barely got mine! If I didn't even get one I would cry like some of the girls there, I missed all the shows, which I would have loved to see the Marvel stuff as well.

We didn't have time to take pictures in the stores because each time we were really being rushed out...but I will post pictures later when I get back.

Thanks Polaris!

I am a Disney fan for life, but from everything I'm hearing... D23 sucks. I don't think I'd ever go...

I completely agree. It's really such a shame. From what I've heard they just really don't control what's going on. As crazy as SDCC can be, I've heard D23 is a million times worse because of how chaotic it is. Disney keeps promising that they will get their act together and control the situation at the next D23, but it just seems to get worse. If they ever do get it under control I will go, but until that happens I definitely wouldn't go. It costs people a lot of money to get there. People shouldn't be standing in line for that many hours to get merch only for that many to come away without what they were looking to buy. Plus while they're standing in line forever they're missing out on all the great events.

I agree, it would be cheaper to buy all the merchandise on eBay, at least then you'd be guaranteed a doll and no lines

Good point. I never attended sdcc due to lines and that it's hard to get into as well. I was hoping d23 would be tamer but it sounds just as bad if not worse than comic con.

Well, I want to complain about prices. LOL. But remember, that D23 exclusive silver Cinderella LE250 that was what, $60-80 2 years ago, is now $800-1200+! EEKs...

Hi, everyone.

I have posted once before on this subforum, but I lurk almost daily without posting. All the new merchandise and D23 expo coverage is pretty exciting!

My name is Rachel and I'm from Illinois, but currently living with my boyfriend a couple hours north of Disneyland. Unfortunately, I've only been on a couple one-day trips (in 2008 and 2011), and even another one-day trip isn't a possibility right now. Thanks to the internet, though, I can live vicariously through other people, lol.

Anyway, I've been reading most of the posts in this thread as they appear, and I apologize if this has already been answered, but I do have a question: Will the lithographs/prints for this collection be available to purchase online or in Disney stores, or only at the expo? I'm probably going to head to my local Disney store on the 19th to pick up Belle and Jasmine mugs, but I'd love to get my hands on a set of these, too.

Thanks in advance for any answers you can give me.

Hi Rachel! May want to stay up til midnight or later (3am on the east coast lol!) this Monday morning. Disney store is suppose to be releasing the fairytale collection online on the 12th and in the physical stores on the 19th(day before snow's release) which should include the lithos

They should count how many people are in the line and inform people that the possibility of them getting one is slim. That way people have a choice to leave or stay.

Some pictures for those wondering (including me) how Belle+Beast, Rapunzel+Flynn will be boxed.

Beast is facing sideways behind Belle, Flynn is holding (?) Rapunzel's waist? They look a little crammed. Also some new merch featuring Rapunzel solo on a tee, the Belle shirt, and a cosmetic bag featuring Jas, Ariel, and Punzie.

Belle and the Beast are really growing on me, I have to say. I actually think I might hold back on buying Snow and Charmingand go for their set and ariel and Eric's one. :)

I read this on tumblr
Yesterday I went to the D23 Expo for the first time. For those of you that don’t know what that is, it’s an all Disney expo. I was really looking forward to it but I have to say I was quite disappointed :(
I wasn’t expecting the expo to be quite as big or have as much to do as something like Comic Con, but that wasn’t why I was disappointed. I was disappointed with their lack or organization and Disabled Services. It’s unfortunate because 95% of the time Disney is usually great with accessibility and such. This was not the case for D23.
When we arrived we asked security what line we were supposed to get into and if their was a separate line for guests with disabilities? We were told there was no separate line and we were to go to the end of the line just like everyone else. Now that’s fine except for the fact that the end of the line was on unevened ground and getting there was not possible with my wheelchair because or narrow paths, poles and bumpy terrain. We explained this to security and were sent to 5 different lines that were inaccessible and told by security that they didn’t know what to do with us. Then they suggested my attendant go stand in line for me while i wait by myself for hours. I can’t be left alone so that wasn’t going to work. Now I know it wasn’t really security’s fault because they were just doing their job and didn’t know where to direct me because there was nowhere for me to be directed. I wish Disney would have been organized their line situation and thought of guests with wheelchairs or limited mobility and how it might be difficult for them to access the general line. Hence why they should have had a separate disabled line.
Once we got in I was optimistic because the show floor was spread out with lots of room and I assumed the rest of my experience would be easy. I was wrong. Unfortunately a lot of the vendors had their set up and walkway so narrow that my chair could not get through. I wanted to look at one booth andy when we tried to get through we realized there was no way my wheelchair would fit through and were so afraid I was gonna run into something because of the narrow space, then get yelled at for accidentally bumping into or breaking something :(
We then decided to try our luck upstairs at one of the panels. We went over to an usher and asked where the nearest elevator was? Her response: “I don’t know. Somewhere out there. You have to go find it yourself.” Yeah! I couldn’t believe it either.
Even though up until this point my experience wasn’t going so well, I still had hope that the panels would be better. I already expected there to be no separate line to get into the hall for the disabled which I was fine with, I waited in line to get in just like everyone else. But I at least expected them to have accessible reserved seating. I don’t know why I was surprised when they didn’t. In fact they were making a lot of their guest park their chairs against the wall and sit in a regular seat! I was waiting for them to tell me that because there was no way I was going to! I need to stay in my chair. Luckily I was not told that, but when I asked about disabled seating they told me there was none. I then asked “Where do I sit then? Where can I park in my wheelchair?” Security told me they didn’t know. I then said “Well where am I supposed to go then?” Their response, “Just go park your chair at the end somewhere.” Sigh.
From then on I asked different Disney employees where I could make a formal complaint about the expo? I was sent in circles and no one seemed to know who I could talk to!
Disney, I love you and your park. I’m a huge fan and you’re usually great at accessibility. It saddens me that I ran into so much problems at D23. I hope enough feedback regarding this issue and the letter I plan on writing is received well so that you can make the appropriate changes for next year’s expo.
Please don’t let me down again.

Thank you for sharing her experience with us. That is just terrible. It's bad enough that Disney didn't plan ahead for people with disabilities, but for all of those employees to treat her so terribly is despicable. It sickens me how many people are employed who just don't care about helping people when its their job to do so. If they can't manage to do their job and just be decent people then they need to get another job so that someone who does care and needs a job will be there to help people.
