Tbh I don't really understand why they put up only such a small pre-order? Wouldn't it be smarter for them too to just let as many up for pre-order as people want to buy them?

I made two orders. First the lithos, then went back for the tote.

If order numbers are sequential, between 3:14 and 3:23, only about 50 orders were placed.

I'm thinking it's a glitch, or they really did only have a handful of sets for pre-order. How dumb if so.

Yes and no - the pre-orders don't charge until they ship. That being said there is an issue with people not having the money when the time comes or people just plain changing their minds. It's actually a bit of a hassle for them (or more than a bit).

I really don't want anyone to get too upset, but the pin sets are most likely going to be cancelled. I think the page goes up as a precaution, in case they had any left or the item didn't sell out, that it would be automatically for sale. No matter what it is. :( They did the same thing with the designer princess pins in 2011....

I'm either dreaming or the luckiest person here. My doll set went through and then I had enough time to place a second order for the lithos and...THE PINS!!! I guess people weren't even expecting the pins to be available so they weren't going after them, just the dolls. I've even received conformation emails for both orders so I assume that means they went through. I'm having the dolls shipped to a depot across the border because they wanted $199.50 in just SHIPPING costs to ship them to Canada but I'll eat the $60 they're charging me to ship the lithos and pins because I want those right away if my order did indeed go through.

This really, REALLY sucks for everyone else though unless it is a glitch. Yeah, they sold a bunch of preorder sets at D23 but with the villains the word around was that they sold 750 sets in total preordered and they took about 30 minutes to sell out. Sure, maybe they did less of these ones since there is 7k less dolls to go around, but it still seems very bizarre that they would be gone THAT fast.

I really think Disney made a huge mistake limiting this set to only 6k units each. Yes, the villains "flopped" but they're not as popular in the first place. These dolls should have been 10k, I think. Even then they would have sold out but at least all the true collectors would have gotten their dolls. I sense a Dollmageddon Part 2 coming on... :(

OMG!!! I couldn't even get to the checkout before the FRIGGIN pre order of the dolls was SOLD OUT:/ I was able to get the pins though....I HOPE that order goes through!!!

my friend who went to expo said that the CMs said the pins weren't exclusive to expo though, so there is hope.

I think it could go either way. It could be a glitch (because when things sell that fast there's usually a crash on the site or something - this was too smooth to be an actual sell out I think), but at the same time I do think it's plausible that they had very few sets available for pre-order given: A) Reduced edition size down from Designer Villains and B) Amount of time Villains took to sell out as a set.

Yes and the fact most of the preorder set went to the d23, so it will do like the Ariel pin's for Europe, just 100 left after the D23

Constantly refreshing Ebay to see the first person to list the entire set for $3000+...

I think this was so stupid. If you're going to allow pre-orders, at least set aside a decent amount. If they only allowed 100 to go, what was the point of advertising it?

Holding out for the pins, but assume it is highly unlikely.

I will keep that in mind because I was shocked that the pins even showed up. I hope they really were available. I missed out even seeing the designer princess and villain sets when they showed up.

Ah, well, that would be very disappointing but at least it would save me $200!

So happy for you!

But I would caution that an order confirmation is only a first good sign. It does not mean that you are guaranteed anything. Not trying to bring you down, just speaking from experience. These people have burned me too many times before with other collectibles, so I trust nothing until it is in my hand.

I really, really hope everyone who was told they got one (whatever it was), got it.

I'm really hoping and praying my order for the tote goes through. I figure I should be OK on the lithos.

I tried for the pins but I am sure that my order will be cancelled, I am so shocked but I complete my order just before sold out, so I am pretty sure that they will be sold out even if I received a confirmation email... I hate how DS.com cancels orders

Confirmation emails mean nothing. I learned that the hard way when I ordered china girl and got the email. The next day disney called to cancel my order.

Yeah, I definitely wouldn't be surprised if the sell out isn't a glitch. Here's to hoping that this really doesn't turn into another dollmageddon.

Pins are gone, but the lithos are still up!!

Also if anyone wanted to know the wallet, cosmetic bag, and purse are limited to 500 each!

The wallet and cosmetic bag are LE too? Oh lovely. I was thinking I could wait on those. :( If I had realized, I would have ordered the wallet and not the tote, since it has Ariel on it. Gah.
