Limited Edition 17" Collector Dolls Information
I think what we've also leant it to buy the dolls on ebay right away if we miss out. All they do is go up in price from there. Like Snow- I heard she sold for mere a couple of hundred just after her sell out- now she's worth multiple hundreds! Correct me if I'm wrong, but the longer you wait the higher they increase.
Buuuutt I'm hoping everyone who wants Ursual and/or Eric get them! :D

Some collectibles lose value eventually. I had dolls that I bought 13 years ago for $100 (retail was $60) than now sell on ebay for $20 if you are lucky. I don't know if the LE Disney dolls are going to do this, but there is a chance some will lose value so they aren't even worth retail after a very long time.

I agree. Even Disney Designer Dolls like Maleficent went up to about $250 in price on Ebay six months ago and now you can get her for about half that price. The more popular princesses like Ariel and Rapunzel and the smaller edition size dolls seem to hold value more. Overall it seems like Disney is different than many doll companies and limited popular items hold value. After all it is Disney!

WOW! So I Think A lot Of People Missed The Memo! I Was THE ONLY ONE At My Disney Store To Buy Snow White And The Prince! I Guess Ill Have No Problem At All Getting All Of Them And Ursula And Eric........ If Anyone Has An Issue Getting A Certain Doll Ill Be More Than Happy To Help!

Mere Hours Away! I Cant Sleep lol. I Was At My Disney Store Today (International Plaza Mall) And Snow White Was Very Much The talk Of the store. Its usually the same collectors I see when these releases happen Its a nice bunch of people. I hope no ones disappointed tomorrow, but interest is sky high! Disney really went all out in publicizing this collection. I guess well wait and see. Im really nervous about securing Ursula and Eric. Everyone Knows About Them And my Store Is Famous for only Getting in 4 of the surprise releases.

In Tampa, FL? That's my home town. I do miss it so much.

got my Snow White/Prince set. Everuybody there got one. It was great. Some even hitting the shelf's.

Congrats! I Was the only one at my stores release today. Im wondering what happened even collectors that I knew who were there the day before didn't show up. I guess its a good thing though. no issue to secure the rest of them.

I was able to secure snow too! Everyone there that wanted one got one! Hope it's the same for the other releases lol. I already have Rapunzel from a co-op so if anyone's in need of her, I can try to get her for you. We need to look out for each other and not giving in to sharks.

Excellent looking out for others! :) Hopefully the next releases will be as smooth. Keep your fingers crossed, because we know that the heavy-hitters are coming up!

Haha thanks that would be much appreciated.

LOL to be honest If the dolls were worth that much then I would happily pay that much but I'd prefer to have holidays and food on my table so id rather save my money for that rather than pay scalper prices haha.

Gosh I just want Oct 1 to get here already so that I know if I finally get the dolls or not, I am seriously nervous about it haha.

Hey tried to reply to your pm, it says your inbox is full.

Question for some of the veteran 17" doll collectors, since I'm relatively new to the deluxe doll line...

Will Eric and Ursula be released at 12:00 PST on October 1st and then in stores later that day? Or will it be like the Designer line where they release the dolls in store first, and THEN release them online at midnight later that day?

In the new disney geek video, where they are talking about Art of Ariel with the artist, they show me up close picture of Eric's face.....Am I the only one that thinks his face is too round looking?? And in turn to me, makes him look very adolescent. I WISH they would have used a face mold similar to the fairytale collection one:/

I took an upclose pic of Eric's face while I was at the expo

Something just looks different to me:/ ........

I def agree that there is something different, I am confident the hair plays a big part in the different look and I do agree that there is something funny with the shape of his face.

Regardless I still love it as it is the first LE Prince which is exciting! LOL

I think it's because he's photographed from below instead of straight on. Hopefully he will look better in person.

To be honest I was too short to take a photo from front on because they had them up on a shelf.

I was able to take a front on photo but the reason why I took one from below as well was becuase people were saying that you could not see Eric's face because the box was in the way, which is true, it appears that they made Eric too tall for his box so if you look at it from front on part of his face/hair is covered by the box cover. Here is a pic I took from front on.

Yes, LE Prince Eric seems a little "off" to me too. His head shape is wrong and then there is that 70's hairdo, which makes him seem less like Prince Eric. Otherwise, he looks really good.

I do think he doesn't quite look right, not quite movie eric, but really I don't think many of the dolls truely look their their movie counterparts. Maybe it's just me though. But I do like him for what he is, and he gives me hope for more male LEs (GASTON and FACILIER hehe). I display my dolls with the front cover part off (just have the plastic cover) so I think he won't be cut off. The have to make him taller, all the princes are taller than their princess. Can you imagine for the deboxers (my aim is to one day join this group of people lol) posing their dolls together and they're the same height? ... Then again I don't think they took that into consideration for the designer couples (not sure, I haven't looked at them very hard).

As much as I love the idea of the first LE prince having rooted hair, I agree that it didn't turn out quite right and it's a little poofy. Maybe it's just a lot harder to stylize shorter rooted hair? Like with Calhoun, who has a close-cut bob, her hair ended up looking on the poofy side too. If they do plan on making more LE princes, I just wonder what this will mean for the possibility of an LE Phillip, since Sleeping Beauty's diamond is next fall. He's one prince who definitely has a very stylized, close cut do (even the animators complained about it), so I worry that any poofy-ness would throw him off even more than Eric. And he for sure needs a new sculpt :)
