Limited Edition 17" Collector Dolls Information
Funny, I've always thought of Aladdin/Jasmine/the whole movie was supposed to be Egyptian. I know that is Middle Eastern, but a rather specified place. I've seen (and really want) a Disney World map puzzle, that shows where the movies are supposed to be set. Obviously it's not 10000% accurate but you get the gist. I'm a really huge fan of Rapunzel but even I decided to skip Rapunzel of the designer collection. I just really don't like the way Flynn is standing behind her like that.
 
Hi! I'm new to DPF! The forums on here are so awesome! And everyone seems so nice! I've been collecting LE dolls for a little over a year now. I started when Merida came out! I'm soo obsessed with that movie! But I ride horses and do archery so she is like the perfect princess to me!

Hmm, I have to get Rapunzel and Eugene! I love Rapunzel's dress and Eugene is one of my favorite princes. I've seen them in person at my Disney Store and they do look way better in person then they do online. Granted Rapunzel's head does need to be fixed. This is the first set of designers I'm actually getting. I wasn't really into the villains and I missed the first princess line. But I truly love the Fairytale Collection!

Thanks for the link, I'd never seen this. They are defiantly in the Middle East, and not India. Though I agree with folks on here, I shouldn't get too upset. Disney does always blur the lines.
 
No worries! I have 5 Disney puzzles so I'm definitely after this one. But yeah, definitely middle east - the jungle book is in India haha :-)

Hey, welcome! I'm new here too--it's been great so far! And I agree with you--I wasn't too crazy about the villains, and I was unable to get any of the designer princesses--but I think that Rapunzel is worth the hassle of changing the arrangement. Sure, she won't be mint, but that's not overly important to me.
 
I don't know about anyone else but as we get close to October I am getting soooo nervous! :anxious:

I REALLY want Eric and Ursula but I don't know how hard they are going to be able to get. I plan on going to my store super early to stand in line. I'm thinking Ursula is going to be really hard to get because she looks so awesome. Eric I think will be hard as well because he is the first prince to be released as a 17". And I'm crossing my fingers that Disney doesn't add anymore dolls to the mix! In that day alone I will be buying 3 dolls! Eric, Ursula and DFDC Belle and Beast. I love you Disney but my bank account really hates you :lol:
 
I almost had my hands on a snow white le 17''! It went Up Way Too High! Why Did I Have To Come to Game Late :cry:. Ah Well Cant Wait For my Jasmine And Aladdin! Also Im Thinking Theres A Good Possibility For Either A Human Ariel Or Vanessa limited Surprise Doll. Think About It, With Cinderella They Never Made A Lady Tremaine In History, Then The Have Her And The Step Sisters In the Doll Set And Then A Surprise 17''. Same With Vanessa. Never Made Before And Now The Have Her In The Big Set And Separately In The 12''........
 
Hello all! I'm a newbie too!! LOVE the LE 17" dolls!! Can't wait for Ariel and Eric and Ursula! But oh my the timing!! The couples sets too! So much money! LOL! I would LOVE Snow White too! I'm lurking on eBay but they wind up going too high! I would do anything for her!!! (almost, lol).

I feel like they may make vanessa anything is possible. My wallet will hate me but i would love a vanessa.I feel like 3 little mermaid dolls on the 1st is nuts but imagine 4 oh no! i think anything is possible because TLM is a big money maker for disney. maybe we'll get them but i feel like it will be online only to prevent craziness at the stores. i feel like vanessa would be LE of 500 like alice and the queen of hearts. If they made human ariel i hope she's in the water gown. again i feel like she would be a low LE or not. but vanesa would be like 500 LE and online only. I guess the only way to find out is to wait til october 1st. i'm going to see if she is up just in case
 
edgetheclown: I'm right there with you! I was wondering if they might do something like that.....gosh that is sooo many LE dolls though....but Disney always has a surprise doll release with every movie so I don't think TLM would be any different. My poor bank account is going to be crying after Oct 1!!
 
Ahhhhh Why do people keep announcing/posting these dolls on FB now it will be harder to get! I'm soooo Nervous about getting Ursula and Eric I think I'm having panic attacks and it's a month away!!!

Actually, the DisneyStore UK announced on Facebook that they would be getting the dolls as well, that is where the stock photos came from.

I'm so nervous too :anxious:! I really want both dolls but I'm afraid the DisneyStore is going to be crazy. I'm getting up super early to go so hopefully I get one of each! Good luck to everyone going after these two :x:
 
I'm not crazy about Eric, and I'm really on the fence about Ursula. She is one of my favorite villians, but something about the doll seems a little off to me. Maybe it's because he skin has that shine to it; it makes it look like cheap plastic in the photos. Perhaps it's just irridescent (which would be cool). I have a feeling that with all the hype on these two I will never get to see her in person to decide whether I want to buy her or not. There was no debate with Ariel! I saw her photos and knew I had to have her!
 
I really like the Eric, but just think it's a shame the box chops off the top of his head. Makes it look a bit silly on display!
 
I don't like the Eric at all! He is too tall for his box and he doesn't look like Eric at all he looks to young.And I think the sculpted hair is much better on the couples Eric, rooted hair on him just looks poofy and not right:/. Ursula looks great, not sure on the skirt part of her outfit though.
 
I can't wait for Oct 1st!!!! I wonder if there will be any surprises or not?? I hope so, but 4 for Little Mermaid would be too much I think???? I want them to go back and do more dolls for each movie! (like more for Snow White, Beauty & the Beast, Etc!!)
 
Disneychrissy: Me either!! I kinda want a surprise doll but it will be sooo much money! :sigh: Especially since we still have Frozen coming out! And I have to have Anna and Elsa......oh and if they make the male dolls too......AH so many dolls! I also agree, the need to go back and make more dolls from the other Disney movies. I want a Eugene doll!!!! He's my favorite!!
 
I honestly don't believe we will get any other dolls other than Eric and Ursula released on October 1 mainly because of the reason most of you mentioned in that they already have 3 releases coming out on the one day, Ariel, Ursula and Eric. Never before has Disney done that so an additional release would just be unforeseen. But who knows Disney has surprised us in the past take Eric for example. Who would have thought they would have released a male doll 12 months ago.

In terms of Frozen releases I am hoping we got both dolls released in November along with the movie release. I just wonder though if they will release two single dolls on the day, or release the two in a set (similar to Merida and Elinor) or if they will release one now and another during the bluray release early next year. I doubt we will be seeing another male doll for a while as Disney is probably testing the waters with Eric.
 
Eric will sell out in a heart beat. Scalpers will get him, and most people here will. You'll see the pictures and want him.

Now is a really good time for the forum to go down.. Since people are finding out about the dolls, google will lead them to this topic and it'll make it hard for all of us to get these dolls.
 
I was surprised that Lady Tremain lasted 12 hours online, same edition size as Eric...but I know that for one, he will sell faster because he's our first 17" male doll in the princess line...and two - TLM is and has been so popular. Well here's to hoping I can get him! I kinda want Ursula....but still on the fence; that skirt....is she just a hollow tube under there to make her 17"??? If I can get my Ariel and B&B set I'll be happy ;)
 
Think I'm going to see if my husband can take off Oct.1 and camp out at the DS for me! It's an hour from us, but we like the fun of buying in-store!!! Never done the raffle before...
