Limited Edition 17" Collector Dolls Information
Hmm, I don't think Disney will do another 17" set like they did with Elinor and Merida. They didn't really seem to make enough money on those sets especially since stores were clearance out their remaining dolls. I think the Frozen dolls will most likely be separate. They might do a pre-order for Anna on Sept 16th....or release both dolls on the same day as the movie....It's hard to say with Disney. However, I know they are releasing a bunch of new Frozen merchandise on the 16th so I plan to be up late checking to see what they are releasing! :)

I really want that Eric and Ursula doll!!! I think that if you were to get there early, it might not give you a better chance than someone who will be showing up at 12:00pm (let's say) to participate in the raffle. My husband went to our DS at 12:00pm to participate for the Snow White and Prince release raffle and met a woman there who had shown up really, really early in the morning thinking she might be one of the first ones to get the dolls. But, as it so happened, my husband was the first name that got pulled and he didn't even wait as long as that poor woman. Thing is, because this is supposed to be a surprise release, wonder if they will do the same thing. Perhaps announce it on FB and DS.com and then have the stores on standby for the hordes of people that will stampede over to buy them. Then corral all of us and do the whole raffle thing? Or might it be like the Ariel release? First come first serve?

They haven't really done raffles for LE dolls in the past. Then again they have never been as popular. So they may do a raffle for these LE dolls to be released on Oct but I have a feeling most may just release the stock for sale on opening so it'd be first come first serve.

Yeah, with all this hype and all this over exposure, I am going to be sitting at my computer to be clicking and ordering like crazy just for Ursula. Then, after all of that stuff is taken care of, I will give it about a half hour, see how things are, and keep checking back and forth to see if I have gotten the confirmation email and if she's sold out yet. If I get the email before she sells out, then I'll be feeling more comfortable and secure. BUT! I will still be chatting with a CM to get confirmation of the confirmation email. I've read too many horror stories on here and other sites about purchases showing as successful...only to later be told they were unsuccessful. After all of this, I will know if I have to make it to the store on time to be the first one in line.
I have been so super lucky to get each and every villain doll released and I am hoping that this time is no different.

Wow....4am?! You guys are making me nervous :anxious:! My DS is in the mall and the doors don't open to the mall until 6am! Though I really want Eric and Ursula! I'm willing to get up that early and wait for 4 hours! I did it for Ariel but no one else showed up until 7:30....sigh....why couldn't they make Eric and Ursula larger edition sizes?! I will probably do the same thing as you TinkerTigg, I will stay up late and order online first and if my order doesn't go through then I will go stand in line and keep my fingers crossed! Of course this is IF my store is going to have these dolls. Sometimes not all the DS's get these dolls in and sometimes the CMs don't know until the week before...then it is getting them to tell you! LOL

What worries me about the website is that it doesn't always show up right away. Take the Snow White and Prince, for instance, I was up at midnight and refreshed often to make sure that I was able to see the link right away but I didn't get to see it until maybe 12:14 or so (made me so mad). Same thing happened with the pins. Now, I want to be able to make sure I have Eric and Ursula but I'm not sure if the online option might be the way to go since I might not get the link to show up in a timely manner (I'm so paranoid). My thought is that some people might get priority at DS.com if you're like a gold or platinum member, maybe? I know it's not my internet connection, I have super duper speed.

There's no platinum or gold edition level of membership at the Disney Store. I think it depends on how you look for it on the site also on the amount of traffic going through the Disneystore server, the more people that are on there the slower it will be to update the website. For example I would assume that if you refresh the DFTC page it should appear there first before appearing in the Disney store home page. The issue here is where are you supposed to go to find the Eric and Ursula doll? The Little mermaid page? It's a tricky one and I am worries about that too. I am worries that by the time the dolls appear on site after I have refreshed a numerous amount of times they will already be sold out. If that were to happen that would be devastating as I don't have any other choice other than trying to get them online.

No there are no preorders Oct 1 is the actual release date so you can imagine there will be a lot of people lining up outside stores so that they can buy the LE dolls as there is going to be three released that day. The Ariel doll which you will only be able to get if you preordered it and the Ursula and Eric doll.

Kind of off-topic, but does anyone know when the D23 Frozen issue will come out? I usually get them from safeway and I wanna know when it comes out. It's the Fall issue.

Just a heads up for UK/Europe people planning on getting either of the three dolls on 1st October "1000 Ariel dolls, 200 Eric dolls and 500 of Ursula dolls will be splashing into Stores for our European Guests" (confirmed by UK Disney Store). Only one more month to go... :x:

Gah! This is the first time I've actually been worried about getting a doll. I don't like this feeling. I want it to be time already. I want my Ursula added to my collection.
Part of me thinks that they have announced these two "Surprise Releases" so early because there will be a 4th *Actual Surprise* Release -or- they are just doing this to build hype. But...why would they need to add hype to this collection? I dunno, I kinda really wish we were all still just speculating that there would be an Ursula...not seeing all the promo pics blasted all over the pages. I ONLY WANT US TO KNOW!!! ;)

Agreed. All of the publicity and attention on public venues is just not a good thing in general. The one thing I am sure that the Disney Store is actually trying to do is release a bunch of higher-end, expensive dolls at the same time so that most people would have to pick and choose which ones to get. That of course makes it even harder for the collectors that want to collect everything that the Disney Store makes to shell out that much money and to keep on top of every release.

I am really nervous about getting Eric and Ursula too...I've actually taken October 1st off of work and if I miss them online I am going to drive to my closest Disney store (which is 2 hours away) and will be camping there til they open. The Little Mermaid is my favorite Disney movie and I have to have the two of them to go with Ariel lol

RIGHT?! ME TOO!! I feel so dumb. I mean, really? Taking time off work for a doll? I told my boss that it was my friend's birthday and on October 1st, I would be...sleeping off the "beverages" from the night before. ;)

Quick question, so all 3 dolls are coming out on Oct. 1? Ariel, Eric, and Ursula? Will Disneystores be getting them like they did the Designer dolls. I know that Eric is 1500 and Ursula is 2000, so will local stores even be getting them? I think they will get Ariel since she is 6000 like the Designer ones but IDK about Eric and Ursula <_<

Yes please!!! Let October be here already!!! I'm also worried that they will be releasing LE Frozen dolls as well! So many dolls at once! Only if I didn't like the Designers one this year I would have been fine! Blast you Disney why most you make such pretty expensive dolls that I can't resist!!!:banghead:

Yes that is right, the dolls are all coming out on Oct 1. Ursula and Eric will be available in store as well as online however the number of stock held in store will be small. According to an earlier post the UK will be getting 500 Ursula and 200 Eric which means that the US market will get 1,300 Eric and 1,500 Ursula so my guess is that Disney will probably distribute 100 of each doll across Disney stores nationwide in the US Which will mean that we should have about 1,200 Eric's online and 1,400 Ursula's. Give or take a few as it would really depend on the how many they issue to stores.

Based on that amount I would not be surprised if the dolls were to sell out within an hour of release as that is a small amount if you think about it on a global scale.

As mentioned by everybody so far, October 1st will be indeed one of the craziest days for dolls releases. Since we got people who pre-ordered the LE Ariel doll. Plus we got Prince Eric, Ursula, & the DFTC Belle & Beast. I'm hoping each store would get a good amount of the dolls. I definitely gonna be up & early to my local DS as people are definitely gonna be lining up. Here's hoping I would have all 4 dolls!

Well the only way you will get Ariel is if you preordered her back in July so if you did then you can pretty much be assured to have at least one doll that day LOL. But I think if you go to the store early enough you should be able to get all three LEs plus the Designer Belle and beast. Mind you this issue will only happen in store which I am sort of glad is not happening online as the probability of the site crashing would increase due to more traffic.

Yes thank goodness I pre-ordered her right away & it was in store as well! I'm just worried about all the hype that's been going around, that Oct. 1 is gonna be lots of people showing up in the store. Plus I'm worried about for people who are ordering online as well. Pre-ordering the LE Ariel is pretty much my 1st LE Disney store doll. So I'm very excited about that. Coming from a small town called Calgary, Canada. Not many people know about the limited edition Disney store dolls.
