Limited Edition 17" Collector Dolls Information
I never thought if a certain time of year to look for them.

Thanks for this!

Vicki

EEEEE so happy! Super relieved I didn't go for the Fairytale Designer Rapunzel set as that money just went to get my most coveted LE doll for less than $200 - 17" BLONDE Rapunzel! New in box and all she's missing is her COA, but I'm okay with that considering she was $177.50 with free shipping. Gah, can't wait till she gets here! <3

On a side note, I was surprised to see a used 17" Gothel end around $102 total with shipping and it only included her dress, earrings, and the doll herself. Would you all consider this a good deal for her or is that still pretty high for a used one? (Sadly didn't buy her; she went out of my price range.) I should probably mention the doll was numbered 005/1500, though she didn't have her COA.
I'm sooo glad someone on here got her!! I was watching that auction and was going to try for her but forgot about it the day of. Congrats on her :-)

I know, right! Crazzzy. I saw a LE Belle for $299....USED. She came with no shoes, no cert, no box, fluffy hair, no rose and a cyrstal of her dress missing. For $299?! Yes I'd like to debox mine and shove them in a glass case... but it looks like it was a child's play thing! Makes me so sad because I still need Belle...

BUT- congrats on your Rapunzel!!!!!! :-) :-) . I got my grails (Snow and Tiana) so I know how excited you are. I'm really pleased for you!

What's really crazy about that Belle is originally she was posted for $50 and no one bought her, so I don't know why that seller believes she is going to get $299 it's just crazy

I can't believe that Belle is going for $299! That is ridiculous! Then in her post she is calling people idiots because they bid on the doll because they thought they were getting the new doll in the back.....ummm yah!! For $299 I would think I was getting the new doll too! For crying out loud!

Anyway, Eric and Ursula.....ok so it has been confirmed that the UK is getting 300 of Eric and I believe 500 of Ursula...so that means there will only be 1200 Eric's and 1500 Ursula. I wonder how many Eric's will actually be online...I'm guessing stores are going to be getting may be 1 to 4 of Eric at the MOST.....excuse me while I go over here and have a nervous breakdown!!! :anxious::anxious::anxious:

Seems I really lucked out then with so many of you all watching/planning to bid on her as well! Best of luck to all of you still searching for her, especially one with her COA. :) Speaking of COAs, mind me asking why that's such a deal-breaker for so many? While it'd be nice to have, I'm not paying $50-$70 more for that slip of paper. And since they're so detailed, I didn't think there was a chance of one being fake... I'm pretty new to this whole LE doll thing, so any answers would be great.

Then perhaps it'd be a good idea to watch for a re-listing less than the $299 they're asking? For those looking for Belle, what would you consider paying for that used (and abused) doll since she's still the LE doll?

Me personally, I wouldn't buy a used LE doll in that condition. Not even for $20. All my girls are still in their boxes and will only be removed when/if I have a case to display them in properly, and I would have no use for a used Belle. Maybe someone could buy her and work magic on her (fix her hair, make her gloves and a rose, find shoes etc), but honestly I couldn't buy a doll in that bad condition to go with my collection.

The only way anyone would get this doll is if they wanna make it go through a whole make over to make her look more accurate, like cutting her hair. But even then.. $300 is no where near reasonable.

I just found and read the listing for the Used Belle everyone has been talking about and I find it astonishing the scolding manner in which she is writing. It certainly is not very inviting. I understand that there are those on ebay who do not fully read a listing and then blame the seller for their own mistake, but she sounds so angry and menacing. You would expect a nicer way to express your frustration especially in the conditions the doll is in. Personally, I think that anyone who spends this amount on a such an abused doll is throwing money away. I would wait and get a new one.

The reason COA's matter to ME at least is I guess for a very selfish reason. I want the things I buy to be JUST like I'm buying them from a store. If I'm going to dish out more for a product then they paid in store, it better be the exact thing. I frankly don't know why people throw out/sell their COA's, because they are basically selling away a piece's certificate... of authenticity. Sure, WE know there aren't many (if any) fakes out there, but will people be able to prove that forty years from now? COA's help financial business people evaluate the estimate of your estate as well, and a lot of people like their collectible approximated, that way if for some reason there is damage (fire, flood, tornado, etc...) you can be reimbursed by the insurance they provide. Also, although I PERSONALLY would never sell the pieces I collected (because I believe I've bought everything at one point in time for a reason), unless of course I'm close to being homeless, I do plan on passing them down to my children I plan to adopt, and what they want to do with them is their business after I pass away. Although I would hope that I can encourage a love for all things Disney and that they would keep the things I've collected throughout my life for sentimental reasons, ultimately I won't be around to yell at them for wanting to sell a 100 year old Ariel designer doll for something practical like rent, a car, or even something they enjoy more. So, if a COA were ever necescary, it would be then when they are trying to sell it for a profit, as opposed to breaking even or losing from what I paid back in the day. Ultimately, I think it is just a matter of your taste, and what your grand scheme for the collectibles are. I am very meticulous, so for me to buy a doll and set her on a shelf without her COA, I think I would focus more on the fact she is missing something that completes her, rather then how pleasant she is to look at.

As for the Belle, I would never in a million years bid on it for the same reasons I won't bid on something without a COA. She is largely incomplete, no gloves, no rose, etc. Although she is "special" being LE, I honestly would probably not be able to tell her apart from your run of the mill Belle doll because they both would look too similar, and there is nothing to distinguish her apart. Yes her dress is a bit fancier, but what is the point of a LE doll if you can't immediately tell there is something that sets her apart from the rest?

That does at least give me an added sense of false security. I mean, if those numbers were the same and the UK always got 500 of the other surprise releases...then the US is technically getting 500 more than it normally does. Happy Face? I dunno, I greatly dislike feeling worried about getting a doll this time. With Gothel, I had an in and I knew she was mine. Queen of Hearts, I dragged my feet in doubt and snatched her up on that 3rd and final day. Lady Tremaine, I was worried and a little unsure the days before on whether or not I'd be successful...but I placed that order at 0 hour and she was still available hours after. But this G** D**** Ursula has me worried! I don't like the worried! I just hope I've been worried for nothing when this all comes around. 0.o

Ugh. I've seen that Belle auction for a few weeks now. I've noticed that it "sold" twice now, but the buyers' did not realize you do NOT receive the MIB doll. I personally do not care for her/his attitude either, even though they had to deal with non-paying bidders twice. They should realize what they are doing wrong and REMOVE the picture of the boxed doll. They did a bait & switch if you look at their recently ended listings; the very first time it went up on eBay the listing picture is of the doll that's NOT FOR SALE. Very misleading. Even the title was misleading. The original buyer did not even want to doll for the initial $51, so what the heck makes them think it'll sell for $299

It's a shame, that LE Belle doll at one time looked wonderful and now looks like someone threw her and obviously let a child play with her, of course I could be wrong but, children lose things like gloves and little things attached. I hate seeing a doll just destroyed like that and then they are trying to sell it for that prince is just, useless. If anyone actually buys it i'd be more angry the seller got paid.

YES YES YES I want a 17" Eugene so bad! Think of all the possibilities of the design!

YES! I'd pay insane amounts for a 17" Eugene.

Now you've gotten me laughing. My favorite dub of Tangled is Swedish, and as amazing as the performers are they just cannot pronounce Eugene. Not even to save their lives.

sinslikescarlet/Menne: We are all in the same boat! I would also pay an insane amount for 17" Eugene! So if there is a Disney Store market researcher reading these posts....MAKE A EUGENE 17" LIMITED EDITION DOLL!!!!!!!!!!!

LOL, I love Eugene! However, I think I have discovered why I love him so much. He is very much like my fiance! Same sarcastic attitude and loving side....I think I know what my fiance is dressing up for this Halloween haha!

Yeah, there is no way I would spend that kind of money on an opened semi-ratty looking doll which is missing parts. And her writing makes me think she (he?) is not a nice person I would want to buy from either. It tempts me to send her a message asking if I would get an unopened doll in the box like in the picture. ;) Why even keep that picture up if it is causing so many misunderstandings like she claims.

Someone could fix the doll up, she could fix it up nicer! But the most I would spend on it would be $50. And even then I might rather save my money.

We are doing Rapunzel and Flynn for Halloween too!!! ;)

I am sooo anxious for Oct 1!! I'm a deboxer, and I think I will make a trip to the petshop to get some cool aquarium rocks and stuff, and let Ariel sit on them, it will be sooo pretty! Plus, it will fix the problem of the visible stand, and the awkward 'standing mermaid' thing (c'mon, you can't stand on a tail). I'm a bit nervous, because my nearest DS (1,5 hour drive) isn't able to tell if they will have them yet, so I have to call them on Monday September 30... Very stressful, but I have to be sure, because if they don't have them there and I do go, I'll be back home at 12:00, and I'm scared that the dolls (especially Eric, EU only gets 200!) might be sold out online by then.

Disney, open a darn store in Amsterdam NOW so I won't have to travel to Belgium every time!!!!

Wow that's eerie. I was just looking at some LE Rapunzel dolls and thinking "I wish they would do a LE Eugen/Flynn" that would be so cool. Id buy him in a heartbeat. I have a question on the LE Rapunzels - so there is the wedding one with the short brown hair, and another with the long blonde hair. I also saw some classic dolls that are VERY similar. In fact Im waiting for the classic wedding doll with short brown hair to get here. How different are they? And are there other LE Rapunzels out there that I'm missing. My big three to collect are Rapunzel, Belle, and Ariel. So I want to make sure I know all of the ones that are available to try to hunt down. Im also thinking of adding Aurora to that mix. I just kind of really love her.

That's going to be so cute! Post pics!

Yep, you have the 17" Rapunzel (blonde hair), 17" Wedding Rapunzel, 2011 Designer Rapunzel and 2013 Designer Rapunzel & Flynn. If you really want to collect everything Tangled, there's also the 17" Mother Gothel and the 2012 Designer Mother Gothel. I'm trying to get 2011 Designer Rapunzel now, if I succeed I will have every Limited Edition Rapunzel doll ever made :D. Maybe the classic dolls look similar on pictures, but they really aren't. The LE ones are soooo much more beautiful in every aspect, their faces are executed way better and their dresses are beyond breathtaking.

Oh boy I'm in trouble.

I feel like a little kid during Christmas time who counts down the day until Christmas...except I'm counting down the day until October 1st! 18 more days to go! LOL

Same here! I was just thinking 2 more weeks! Also really anxious though, since it's been so publicized on Facebook and all the forums, and at the expo. At least the "likes" on FB fan pages for Eric & Ursula is like at 250 and not like 8,000+

That does make me feel better though! Only 250 likes.....may be people aren't paying as much attention as we think....:x:
The only bit of reassurance that helps me is knowing that Lady Tremaine was easy to get last year. I don't have the store option, so the internet is my only option. I have convinced myself that if I am on there the second they become available that I'll have time for one doll. I am going to buy Ursula and then go back and try to get Eric immediately. If I can't get them then I'll just go for the designer couple and wait for the prices to fall on Ebay next year. I have found that with patience, most of the 17" dolls drop in price....it's just hard to be patient!!!!
