Excited for Friday at DSF!
I am planning on going. If I am able to get selected by the random drawing, I was not planning on buying the Ursula or Sebastian. I might have 1-2 available if anyone needs one. One Sebastian is already claimed. :) Let me know!

So, I'm considering taking the train to Union Station, and then taking the Metro to Hollywood and Highland tonight, because I won't get there in time if I take the train or bus tomorrow morning. Is this safe? I've never been to a DSF release before. I realize that because of the wristbands and numbers handed out now, staying overnight is unnecessary, but like I said, if it would be pointless for me to take a morning train or bus, because I'll miss the release. I also really want Jafar, lol... Will anyone else be there tonight?

I remember the nights I had to camp out and I really do not miss it!!! It sucks that you do have to do that but I totally understand. Better safe than sorry. In my experience it was very noisy at night. You have the regular crazies that roam Hollywood at night, the homeless people that could put up a fuss with others on the blvd; the tourists passing by and asking why everyone was sleeping in the alley; the people walking to and fro the auto rental place next door and of course the smell of exhaust as cars come in and out; the drunks that have become hearing impaired and insist on yelling and screaming at everything; the people that blast their music on their very shoddy speaker system; the very cold very early morning hours...the list goes on and on. If you go you should try taking someone with you, definitely, so that you do not feel so alone and vulnerable (you will be sleeping, I hope). Though I'm sure you're not going to be the only one doing this. Perhaps others that come from far will also be sleeping in the alley to save on money and time. Hope you stay safe and warm =)

No joke, there has been a crime spree of violent physical altercations in the area lately. Right along Hollywood Blvd. If you do go and no one else is around, you may want to try to hang out in the hotel lobby, or inside the hollywood & highland center itself. There is a foodcourt on the roof with tables. Or maybe down by the CPK and the Starbucks they may leave their chairs out at night. Just tell the guards your not homeless and you're waiting for a store opening.

Thank you both for the information. I have taken many plane, train, and bus rides by myself at night in my life. That being said, though, I'm adventurous, not stupid; so I think I'll just sit this one out. The only pin I want for myself is Jafar--the TLM pins were just going to be traders. I was looking forward to the experience of meeting other DPFers more than anything, but I don't feel like giving up sleep for a night and potentially risking my safety for it.

can't wait! Taking a half day at work to drive up Thursday night, and then drive back to San Diego to make it in time for the second shift!I hope to recognize some of you and chat it up...maybe we should wear some name tags!

I know! A name tag would be good. I am getting Docfish2u to make a button with my SN and real name on it so I can wear it around and meet some more DPF members. It is in the process of being made so, I will not be able to wear it tomorrow but maybe I should wear something so people can point me out. If you want you can PM him and he can make you a button as well. He trades for them and is really fair. Then you can wear it every time you go to events.

Ive yet to make it to the Disney Fountain. We are never in LA long enough to go there. Is it really a good place for pins? My friend said that you can trade with the people who work there but they do not have a lot to offer.

Also does anyone have a picture of the ice sundae they serve with the free pin.

Look for the guy with a long black lanyard. One side will have Tron pins, the other will have 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea pins. That'll be me!

How late would you get in if you leave in the morning?

How late would you get in if you leave in the morning?

I wouldn't be able to get there until after 10:30. Earliest I could get there would be 9:30 if I took the Greyhound and Metro, but that's only if I convince my boyfriend to give me a ride to the Santa Barbara Greyhound station at like, 5:15 in the morning, lol. Like I said, not a big deal, I was just looking for a new experience. Another time.

I had so much fun mingling with everyone in Hollywood yesterday! Who knew I'd be in line with my next door neighbors? :) Very, very positive experience- I can't wait to come back! I made some great new friends and I scored beautiful new pins! Hope everyone else had a great time too!

It was fun! I ran in to old friends and I pulled a low number after really expecting not to. I was so excited. I was torn about the PTD's. I wanted to stay and see who the change would be but my feet were so sore so I decided to head home. Glad I left. lol
