Limited Edition 17" Collector Dolls Information
8 days to go!!! Yah!!

lordofanime: Who cares if you are a guy and Brave is your favorite movie!! It is an AWESOME movie!!! I think the only time I ever cringed when someone told me their favorite movie, was when a 7 year old told me his favorite movie was Creepers!! I won't even watch those movies because they scare ME!!! I can't imagine letting a 7 year old watch it! LOL

I think Brave is amazing! The story line is beautiful and the characters are all wonderful. I love Elinor, she rocks! Fergus is adorable and who doesn't like the triplets, they are soooo cute. Merida is a wonderful princess, I love her outgoing and independent personality. Brave has beautiful family values.

Haha, no problem. I'm not that stressed out. Heck all these dolls aren't even for me. I get them as gifts for my sisters. And one of them
Has been asking for Ursula. So I promised her id get the doll for her.

As for brave. My country released the movie a month late. It was torture. I had a friend in the US watch it and then describe it to me... When I got back to the US, (2 days before they released it back home btw) I rushed to a movie theatre by bus and watched the movie twice! I fell in love with the movie and to this day it is my all time favourite movie. Heck, everyone around me finds that statement cringe worthy cause I'm a guy. XD
I love that your guy (so am I) and that you loved Brave so much. Im Disney obsessed and a closeted doll collector. ha.

what do you guys think is the best way to get both dolls online? my biggest worry is having one in the cart and by the time i get the other in the cart or finish the payment theyll sell out!

There is no right way because the payment process can take a couple of minutes and sometimes getting a doll into your cart can take time. I am picking my favorite of the two and buying it first then going back for the other one. I have all of my payment and shipping information saved to save steps. I know others can get both dolls into the cart fast and then do the check out process. It's just that I am sure I want Ursula, but won't be heartbroken if I don't get Eric.

yeah i have all my stuff saved too for that purpose as well im just nervous that it will still go so quickly!!!! thanks for your response ill definitely go for my favorite as well

I am a fan of using multiple devices, if you can. For some things when I knew they'd be popular, I would set up my computer and my iPhone and would get one in the cart and be multi-tasking with my phone to get the other. It is especially nice if you are experiencing lagging on the computer, because you can just use that waiting time to further your phone's progress. I've also done it in the past with two computers (desktop and laptop.) I'm a good multi-tasker though and am very technology oriented, so it isn't for everyone. My theory is that if you do them at the same time on different devices, it eliminates the time damage you might receive with just one device because of lagging or site crashes and once you get one in your cart for one device, you can zip through the checkout and finish whatever stage you were on with your other. I would definitely suggest going for the one you want more first though, because all is possible with these releases.

see i was thinking that i could try that as well...ive got an iphone so i have two devices ready...i may just do that! Im about to practice lol i feel like im in the olympics!!!!

How do people get early links?

Also, it is pretty safe to say that there will be no surprise surprise dolls, right? I've never followed the 17" releases before because I only found this site within the past year, but it isn't likely they will have a REAL surprise doll, correct? My biggest fear is that since The Little Mermaid is so popular, they are going to go overboard with dolls while they can and release a wedding Ariel, or worse... some sort of Vanessa (since they got a pretty positive response from her inclusion on the 12" classic doll set)... and completely demolish my bank account.

I know of a person who is working on getting an early link for the forum, but I believe they are trying not to share openly how they do it. I am trying to find it too. The reason for not sharing how is to prevent word from getting out and everyone finding it. If I find it I will share it immediately with the forum.

That's right, there is no way that you can get the Ariel doll on Oct 1 unless you either order it from the UK website (or buy it from a Euro Disney store) or if you are lucky and an order is cancelled at your local Disney Store.

Note as well that because there is a high probability that some online orders will be cancelled I would not be surprised if the doll comes back up for sale online so if you did miss out on preorders definitely keep a close eye on the website as she could pop up at any time.

So, just curious friends.... Is it usually pretty easy to buy online at midnight? October 1st will be my first attempt! I usually just order when I get up at 4:30am, but don't want to take any chances on Eric!!! I see that someone usually posts a link here???

I was lucky I guess when I got Lady Tremaine, just woke up in the morning and got here. If memory serves, I think she was available until around noon CST?

I bought LE Tremaine at 7:31 am Pacific Standard Time. When I tried to purchase a second one, she was sold out. I looked up when I bought it on my e-mail history...so it's not a guess!

The Toronto Eaton Center will be doing it in a raffle for any Torontonians wondering :)

False.

It's going to be first come first serve.

I find, with this being a new store and all, the staff there aren't that knowledgable yet. You need to go straight to a manager to get a straight answer. It took me four people last week to get them to understand that I was talking about Eric and Ursula, not Eric and Ariel. They kept correcting me and saying her name is Ariel. I was like, yes, you are right, the doll coming out on Oct 15 is Ariel, but I'm talking about Ursula and Eric, two separate dolls on Oct 1. Then they tried to tell me that was Ariel, which again was right, but... well, anyway, you get the point.

So don't show up there at noon thinking it's going to be a raffle! Just thought I'd give a heads up.

Nah, it just pays to be an informed collector, so really I'm just grateful I can come here for all the news I need. It does make me nervous that they're feeding other people false info, though.

The guy I spoke to today tried to tell me Ursula and Eric are going to be a raffle, so I drilled him until he went to the manager (who was in the back and so I couldn't ask her directly).

He was like, yes, there will be a raffle. You enter your name between noon and one--at which point I cut him off to ask if there were going to be three different raffles for the three different dolls being released that day. That stumped him quickly.

Again, the store is just getting its juices flowing, so I'm not going to hold it against them that they're still learning. It's a lot to take in... if you're not us! :D

Could not have said it better myself, we are much more in the know! lol :) It is frustrating though because last month when I asked one of the employees if he knew when the Frozen merch was being released, he asked me "whats that" I tell him and then he says, oh if the movie is not released until November, the merchandise won't be released until a couple of weeks before the release. All you can do is take a deep breath and try not to get angry. Obviously this is false since the DS always releases the merch of their new movies a couple of months in advance and a week later the date was finally set for the release. It does bother me though. I am not expecting everyone to be super Disney crazies like us, but it's a work ethic that she be applied in every place. One should be aware of important release dates and how special merchandise will be handled. In my store if its not the managers, no one knows anything and even so, we tend to know whats going on before they do.

I used to be a manager at Macy's and people would come in asking about Black Friday Deals or when the best sale of the holiday season was, etc. The regular store employees were never told about them, but the management staff had all sale, markdown, gift with purchase, black Friday, and whatever else in hand at the beginning of each quarter. For Christmas we knew the entire layout of the rest of the year by the end of August. We intentionally didn't tell the floor employees so they would have plausible deniability. The biggest difference I see is that they were told not to make assumptions or guess, but to tell customers that they just didn't know more than a week in advance. I wonder if Disney employees do know ahead of time about most everything or if they find out when we do with the public announcements from the Disney Store. It seems like it would better for an employee to simply tell the truth, that they don't know and we should ask the managers.

Very interesting! Thanks for letting me know about this! I spoke to them quite a few times over the last few days and they all told me it would be a raffle. I will make sure my friends know about this as well.

What I found funny at my local store is that I asked, about three weeks ago now, if it was going to have the Ursula and Eric dolls released there on the 1st. The sales rep said yes! Okay, so I asked her if it was going to be first come, first serve and she said yes! Alright. Next question was how many will be available. She didn't know and went to the back to ask the manager. She came back with a subdued face and said that she actually wasn't sure if they were going to have them at all or if they came out on the 1st. This got me wondering, do they really tell everyone but are not supposed to tell? She obviously knew what I was talking about and I'm still going to show up on the 1st first thing in the morning. I mean, I got my order for the Ariel submitted there so why wouldn't they have the Ursula and Eric?????

How many dolls do you guys think will be in the stores versus online? I have never been able to get a doll in store so I don't have a real understanding of how many stores there are and how many per store. Anyone have an estimate or educated guess?

Each store varies so it would depend on the size and popularity of the Disney store, obviously the bigger and more popular the store the more likely they will get more dolls than another.

A majority of the dolls will be for sale online with probably only about 100 units being made available in shops in total. Based on what other have posted on here some stores are getting as few as 4-5 of Ursula and less for Eric.

I hope there's no surprise release on Oct. 1. Oh how my card hates Disney so. I usually just happen to walk into my Disney Store and there's a 17" LE Doll that's for pre-order. I got lucky for Merida, Wedding Rapunzel, Cinderella, and Ariel. 8 days left! I'm nervous yet still excited. My mother's going to get Ariel for me on Tuesday because I have school that day and I can't miss it. You miss one day of school and it takes such a long time to make-up the work. I'll be thinking of Ariel all day that day. :hs:

Just got charged for Ariel....wonder if they are going to ship her early because they normally don't put the charge through until they ship. It'd be awesome if she was here next week!! I went on the Disney site to check but it's down :-(

Oh no, does it say "shipped?" I am freaking out because I haven' transferred my money over to the account I bought my Ariel with. I am doing it right now.
