Limited Edition 17" Collector Dolls Information
Sorry but idk what any of that means :dunno:
That is a fair point and that is true that at the end of the day they are just dolls, but to be honest if you really find it hard reading the thread then just stop reading it as no one is forcing you to and I am not trying to sound mean or attacking you in any way but sometimes you need to understand that the forum acts as a way for people to help relieve their stress and vent as it is a place where they can talk to other collectors about things that they love. Granted it is a personality trait for collectors to be perfectionists or completists in some way as a result it is a given that they would worry about packages not arriving and of packages arriving damaged and this is due to the increase in popularity and the ridiculous prices on the secondary market. It really is just a coping mechanism for some so just leave them be.
So whilst I think your point is valid and is something people should consider when they are stressing out I don't think it would be fair of you to tell people that they shouldn't feel that way because at the end of the day everyone has a right to feel how they want to feel about things and it has nothing to do with experience or age, everyone has their own little thing that they love that makes them unique so if it bothers you that much the best thing to do is just avoid it, like my parents always say if you don't have something nice to say then don't say anything at all.
No, folks need to buck up! Some things/complaints are valid and any sane person can understand them, but do YOU not think that too many things here are just way too dramatic? I'm sorry but when people come on here and repeatedly post snobbish posts demanding this and that (ridiculous things mind you), it gets old. I'm not the only one here who thinks that many of these posts are sophomoric. I spend just as much of my money on these collectibles as any of you, so I should also have the right to post MY thoughts. Folks, Disney may not be perfect in packaging these dolls, I agree with that... But expecting them to jump through hoop after hoop for you because you're too picky is ridiculous. Call me mean if you wish, I'm just stating fact. DON'T GET ME WRONG -- yes they should replace damages goods, but when you constantly complain here that a doll has a hair out of place, or a loose thread and you demand a replacement....seriously??? That's all I'm saying. We all spend the same amount on dolls, they will most likely ALL have some small imperfection, that just sets yours apart from everyone else's just try not to fall into such dispair over little stuff, that's all.
That would be amazing. But I would go broke too. They should just make 17" dolls for every character... but then we'd all go broke.
My LE Ursula arrived and for the most part is in great condition: no messed up box, no detaching tentacles, no messed up hair, etc.
However, I do have a funny story about her: she actually busted out of the grey plastic tie around her waist before she got to my house! Obviously, she was getting her revenge against her slim Designer Doll version by really basking in her voluptuous full-figure. In the pictures below, you can see that the grey plastic tie already looked out of place in the full-bodied picture. The second picture shows the broken tie. The end near her arm is actually the broken end. The third picture shows the back of the inner doll backing where the tie is supposed to come through the hole and connect to the twisted portion. Luckily, I can tuck the grey wire under the fold of her bejeweled bra top so it does not show.

Well, my big lovely lady arrived today! And guess what?! I took her out of the box. And Ariel. I just needed them to be free. An I LOVE LOVE LOVE them! So here they sit at my work desk. They will keep me company as I pay bills and fill out tax forms. Ahhh shipment worries are over!!!!
I love my ladies!!!!
I love your photo and they do look amazing together. I do find it a shame that proportion goes out the window with the Disney dolls though, as mentioned by other members about the Beauty and the Beast designer set wherein the Beast that generally towers over Belle in terms or size and girth is only slightly taller than Belle. In this case I remember from the movie picturing Ursula as being larger than Ariel, to the point where should wrap her up in her tentacles, but as you can see from this photo that is definitely not the case, almost looks like a more mature Ariel standing next to Ursula rather than the one in the movie.
Nevertheless I still love how Disney acknowledged the full size Ursula even if she is still a little small proportionally when paired next to Ariel, I wonder how Eric would look next to them as he is an 18" doll. At the end of the day I am just glad that Disney did the trio as they already look like they are perfect as a set.
I know what you mean. Just how large would an Ursula doll be if she was scaled to a 17" Ariel?! That would be massive! But still cool....I probably wouldn't have been able to afford that version though. LOL
I think next year for dolls is going to be cuckoo too! Im really really hoping for a beautiful Aurora doll, and for Aurora and Phillipe as a couple doll set.I can't wait to see what they do with Aurora. I also have wondered if Disney would release 17" dolls of the same characters, but with different outfits when they re-release a movie of a doll that was already released or different characters of the movie. I would love to see 17" Triton, Vanessa and Athena ♥♥ (would die for these), 17" Flynn/Eugene, Rapunzel's parents (I really want her parents in dolls), 17" Charlotte and Facilier, Gaston. I really hope they release these dolls at some point in the future. My mind wonders and dreams of the possibilities :x:
I agree!!Hmmm, I think the only other two LE dolls I would really want would be Eugene and King Fergus.....however, I would love a King Triton.......Beast.........so actually 4! ^^
Great picture! I love that you are a deboxer. And Ive said this before but I just absolutely love that Tonner Rapunzel. I keep hoping to catch one ebay at a decent price one day.
I think a King Fergus would be a great idea!! I am so in love with the classic doll they made of him, a 17" one would be amazing! We happened to be at the DS the day that they released him and I had not seen him. My husband comes to me and tells me, "you are really going to want what I have in my hands", when he showed me I screamed in excitement. We both love Brave and that became his #1 Disney movie so anything Brave related is definitely coming homeHmmm, I think the only other two LE dolls I would really want would be Eugene and King Fergus.....however, I would love a King Triton.......Beast.........so actually 4! ^^

From the bustline-up, LE Ursula is almost a good match to LE Ariel. Her belly, booty, and tentacles all really needed to be made a lot more massive to really keep in scale with LE Ariel. So that said, I think that a 22" LE Ursula would have been perfect (not counting tentacle length), and I totally would have paid more to get one! Note that in the film, each one of Ursula's tentacles should be as long as Ariel is tall, and just one of Ursula's arms is even bigger than Ariel's human portion!

I think Jafar would be a great idea, but I really, really want a HADES and Dr. Facilier doll!! I would have loved to see a 17" Charlotte, she is adorable!! So many doll possibilities. I am praying and hoping for 17" Ellie & Fredrickson ♥ That would be fantastic!!!
I feel so silly but today I went on eBay I found a Cinderella 17" LE doll for retail price...and I kinda bought it.
Now why didnt I think of that. Great idea. I wonder how they would do a LE Maleficent different from the Designer Villain. It Would Be Amazing If They Made Flora, Fauna, And Merry Weather To Scale With Auroras 17" Next Year. Maybe Box The 3 Of Them together And Charge A Little more.... They Would Be So Pretty!
Thats awesome! Congrats. I bought a Designer Villain Mother Goethel and Urusla off of ebay today, both at or below normal retail. Made me happy. Sometimes you can find a great deal. Just have to keep looking.I feel so silly but today I went on eBay I found a Cinderella 17" LE doll for retail price...and I kinda bought it.
