Frozen Disney Store Merchandise, What are you looking forward to? (Contains Spoilers)
Ugh. Not ready for this. Time to put some stuff up on for sale.

Disney you are supposed to be taking away the stress of collecting these dolls, not making it worse. Haha

I was told by my manager that the presale is for the DVD only and that the dolls are first come first serve and are to be in hand for distribution that day... that there is not a presale for the dolls. We shall see, but for those who do not have the funds and are counting on the presale so as to have time to save up, you may want to be prepared. I have posted a few times and while many have questioned the accuracy of my posts, they always have been right, granted, there is always a first time for them to be wrong. :o) Better to be prepared rather than unprepared is my motto!!!

That is a good point, better to be prepared on the 10th.

I guess they could be releasing the dolls to commemorate the Presale release? Which would be a first and is weird since they usually release them in line with the bluray release.

Either way i do agree with Ameth in that it is better to be prepared besides if it was a preorder on the 10th you would still have to have the funds available to buy them.

here is the info I have, interpret it as you like but to me it does sound like a Presale.

PRESALE LE ANNA DVD DOLL
99.95

PRE SALE LE ELSA DVD DOLL
99.95

^ to me that says Presale

Im going to try to have the funds just in case.

Even if its the same two dolls that were just released, id love to get them as I missed out on them before.

Oh the stress...

Lately Disney has been rather inconsistent, so who knows! Going to be prepared either way. :o) To me, a presale is a presale... but as we have seen, Disney has been changing things at the last minute. We shall all see!!!

I really truly hope it is a presale. It just doesn't make sense for it to be released right now, imo and the hype of the movie would still allow for a more than decent presale. I have money from Christmas so I'm prepared either way, but I'm still waiting on pictures first because I'd be looking at snow gear Anna (I already have snow queen Elsa and she's my favourite character), and don't get me wrong, Anna is cute, but I just don't love her like I do Elsa.

Haha I'm trying really hard not to get stressed about it. I know that there is a new set of DFDC dolls coming up in the next doll season and I'm set on getting at least Cinderella and Aurora (hope they make an Anna and Kristoff for that though, it would be super cute!). I'm trying to limit my doll purchases as I simply do not have any room to keep displaying them and I don't have that many to begin with. I got a giant bookshelf and I have 5 of the 2011 Designer set and the past 5 from the recent DFDC (technically 6 because I have an extra Ariel and Eric packed up and put away) and then the 17" LE Elsa. I've set up to have the 17" LE Cinderella but I haven't heard anything back from the seller so we'll see for that one. How on earth do people have complete collections?!

Id love Anna and Kristoff to be in the DFDC line this year. I would get them and Aurora/Phillip for sure.

Lol I have two bookshelves and two shelves just full of dolls. I have a whole room dedicated to disney products haha and that is still not enough. I need to get more shelves and clear the room up a bit only had to put the designer Cinderella away but with the new designers and LEs I will need to get another shelf to put them on haha. It's a lot of work and they do take up a lot of space.

I don't see why they wouldn't- it's a good chance to get extra dolls in and the movie is successful and the merchandise is selling like crazy. They could even release it near the coronation of Anna and Elsa into the official DP line. When they first released the 2011 designer series they included Rapunzel and Tangled had just been out in theaters in the previous months (around the same time of year Frozen was released). I think Disney will judge based on how these next dolls sell just to make sure that collectible Frozen items are still popular with adults even if they include Anna instead of Elsa.

OMG I would love an Anna & Kristoff set. I'm really hoping for some sort of an adult collector type doll of Kristoff; I only buy 17" and designer dolls and he is at the top of my favorite males.

Also..I have this strange feeling they are going to bump out Pocahontas & Mulan from the princess line so they can add Elsa & Anna. I think the designer dolls we have of them are the only nice dolls we'll get, and that's why their designer dolls are special to me. I know some people will give me angry eyes, but I kind of feel like they should remove them from the line. They get completely ignored when dealing with merchandise and their stories are far more prestigious.

Can I ask what you do with the slipcovers? I'd hate to throw mine out but they seriously just sit piled on top of the bookshelf and beside it. I could fit a lot more dolls on the shelves if the covers weren't in the way. I've thought of flattening them out and storing them flat just because I do especially like the concept art on the boxes of the 2011 ones and don't necessarily want to throw them out. I just need them out of the way a bit lol

i store mine away in the cupboards in the Disney room. We have four bedrooms for just the two of us so I just used the cupboard to store has slip cases away. The dolls really do take up a lot of space, hence why I have no idea how I am going to keep this collection up if Disney keeps releasing these annually.

I love both Pocahontas and Mulan, but I don't feel like they really sell well in terms of merchandise simply because they don't wear the ballgowns and whatnot that the other princesses get. And I might get trampled for saying this, but I probably won't be getting the Pocahontas or Tiana versions of the upcoming DFDC simply because I don't like how the characters translate into dolls. I had the 2011 Pocahontas for a bit just while I held onto it for someone from Toronto who got me my Rapunzel but the store ran out of Poca before he could purchase one. Honestly, I just didn't like her face on the doll, which is a shame because I adored her concept art. I think though that they for sure will include an Anna and Kristoff in the next line, but obviously they won't be selling a DFDC Elsa since she doesn't have a partner (and for that reason I think Merida will also be left out). Maybe they'll do a 2011 designer inspired Elsa as a bonus haha

Exactly. I've avoided the 17" LEs for this reason. I was originally just going to get the 2011 designer ones I wanted and then I decided to make room for the DFDC ones I wanted. Then I saw the LE Elsa and I had to have her haha! Next DFDC line I will be getting Cinderella, Aurora and if they do an Anna and Kristoff then that one as well. No more dolls after that (I may be tempted if they do an LE Jasmine for the Aladdin blu ray, but we'll see). I don't have the space or the funds to keep it up, plus I collect from the Sephora Disney collection and that's not cheap either. One of these days I'm going to have to get a nice big house so I can have a room for my collectibles lol

I agree that Pocahontas and Mulan should be removed from the princess line up, but only if they made a heroines line as an alternative

I would love a designer elsa doll and a frozen couple of (spoilers) Anna and Kristoff!! I think it is possible they bump Pocahontas and Mulan to add Anna and elsa cause they are so popular and the movie is just killing it at the box office! It's hit 500 million $$ now!! I think it's gonna over take tangled, To be fair it has already beaten tangled on profit as it cost almost half as much as tangled did to make!! I'm so glad it's doing well :)

It got so much hate before being released I was worried it would bomb :(

I don't agree that they should be removed, why would people just want to get rid of them? I mean they don't have much merchandise as it is and they aren't bothering anyone, so why are we so quick to want to remove them? I personally love them and it makes it all the more special when they do recieve merchandise since they are so underrated. Disney pushes them under the carpet enough, why should the fans?

I guess I'm just thinking it as a business move Disney might make. They know, and we know, that Anna & Elsa are major cash cows right now. It's just almost an insult to keep Poca & Mulan in the line and there's no word on them getting a LE doll anytime soon & they get completely ignored. Didn't they just re-release Pocahontas on DVD (or was it Mulan)? Don't get me wrong, I loved watching Pocahontas and Mulan, and would proudly introduce my daughters to both movies; however, I feel they are more prestigious than just being called a "princess" because they were both true stories in history. The rest of the girls came from written fairy tales; authors such as The Brothers Grimm and Hans Christian Andersen. I could be wrong though, please correct me if so. Sorry .. didn't mean to get off the topic of Frozen.

I don't think Mulan and Pocahontas will be removed any time soon unless they come up with suitable replacements that represent the same ethnic groups they represent. Can you imagine the outrage people would have over it and the bad publicity for Disney? I mean people are upset about Frozen having a white cast. Now imagine what would happen if they remove two poc princesses from the princess line.

I can understand what people mean about Mulan and Pocahontas and why the would not be the first choice when it comes to making then into designer dolls again. The tricky thing for Disney is that they aren't the ones sweeping the two girls under the rug. It is the consumers. The main target consumers are not as in Mulan and Pocahontas and I don't think it has anything to do with race but because of the movies being relatively old and not as popular as say TLM or BATB was.

I think it also has to do with the fact that Disney is a western creation as a result most fans will probably relate more to the other princesses. I don't want this to be a race thing cause I honestly don't think it is, I just think it is more about who the fans can relate to more and for the key demographic these just tend to be the other princesses.

I agree with Naname in that tif they were to be removed it would be a marketing ploy rather than a race thing. The tough thing for Disney is that how can they remove the toe without it looking like a racial issue? I think if they were to remove them they should put them in a heroines line along with Merida as that is what I see the three girls more as. I agree putting Mulan in the line was a stretch but I agree that Pocahontas is a princess in her own right, Merida I never agreed with as she just doesn't fit the line which has become rather evident with her being less popular than the others and now with Elsa and Anna being introduced she has just been pushed to the back and overshadowed more.

I know this has gone way off topic but I can see why people believe that I they were to do another DFDC line if they were to exclude some from the release we all know it would be either Mulan or Pocahontas unfortunately. I am still hoping that they will do all 6 including an Anna and Kristoff. We all know Merida will be excluded regardless due to her lot having a partner.

Luna_Ray I know what you mean about just buying just ones that you want haha. At first I was just going to buy the LEs that I wanted but ended up buying all if them. Same thing as well with the designers lol. I just have no self control when it comes to disney dolls haha.

I'm not arguing that I think they would be the first to be excluded in a designer line, it is clear they would be, although Mulan would be my first bet since she really isn't shown romantically at all except the last five minutes in the first film. At least Pocahontas has a very strong emotional tie to John Smith and sings "If I Never Knew You" depending on whether you watch the theatrical release or not. What I don't agree with is when people think they should be removed from the princess line altogether. Sure, they are not "princesses" or are very loosely those, but they've already been inducted and should remain. They aren't as popular, so they just get less merchandise and that is fine. Can you imagine though as a child being told your favorite princess can't be one anymore? I think it would be so problematic not only because of race but because of gender issues. The "rough and tough" princesses which are Mulan, Pocahontas, and Merida being removed? That is dividing the line with children and showing them that they aren't worthy of being a princess and were revoked their title because they were different. Can you imagine all the negative publicity from parents and social justice bloggers that would surromd that?

Please don't feel like we think you arguing against anything has said as that was not the intention and is your opinion which you have every right to. I just wanted to voice out that it is not disney that pushes them under the rug but they are forced to as a result of them not being favorited as much as the others.

I know the line is a lot more popular now than it used to be but wasn't tink originally in the line? I think even Meg or Esmerelda was part of the line too and yet they were removed. I definitely don't see it being something unlikely as it could happen if the line gets too big and it may not happen overnight but could be a gradual phase out.

Also i hate to say it but even if a princess were to be dropped from the line that doesn't mean the merchandise would stop would just mean that they are no longer in the line up but even if you were to go in store now and go to the princesses merchandise there isn't much Mulan or Pocahontas stuff there anyway so I don't think they will be as missed as the kids probably wouldn't notice at all.

i honestly think this is an area completely open to interpretation though so what a princesses represents to one person could be completely different to another. The funny thing is right now I don't hear a huge debacle over the lack if merchandise for Mulan and Pocahontas but if you were to remove them then that is when there will be a huge ruckus, i just don't think it as a big deal to create a new heroines line to recognize the other female characters and will be a line where Merida, Pocahontas and Mulan will stand out.

By the way this is just my opinion but I don't think Pocahontas was as strong a character as Mulan and Merida were. She is one with the forest and has a great understanding of nature but in terms of personality she is definitely one of the more quieter and serious princesses making her more mature and harder to relate to for most kids.
