A group would be nice, I'd like to be a part of that!
Me too

Hey guys I created a group, DPF Disney Limited Edition Collectors

It is by invite online and only people within the group can read posts. I can add you by email if you like, just pm me your email and ill add you. From there you can then invite others who you believe are true collectors as well and would need the info

I didnt specify it as dolls because I wanted to leave the thread open to any LE Disney items and not just the dolls but I guess it will just predominantly be about dolls though
Thanks for creating. i requested to join via FB.

Thanks for creating the group! .... Sorry we made you late for work, Polaris ;)

Haha it's all good, I work a lot of OT anyway so work didnt mind.

Tinkerboy I just accepted your request then along with another two people. So hopefully that is everyone so far.

For those that provided their email addresses, what I do is I sent a request to join the group from Facebook to your email, as a result I believe you need to check your emails and you will see the request there. I am assuming that the email will just contain a link that you can click and just follow the steps through to add yourself to the group.

Also here's the link to the page. DPF Disney Limited Edition Collectors

If you click on it you can request to be added to the group through facebook, just let me know on here if you sent a request and who you are so that I can accept it. You can just PM me if you like so that you dont have to disclose your information on a public forum.

Thanks for doing all this. You rock!

Would it be helpful to have a file with everyone's name/username?

Yeah I did see your comment on Facebook about that and thought that would be great idea, only problem is that at the moment there are about 40+ members now and I am not sure how I can collate all that information easily? Also I just accepted everyone that requested but I was thinking going forward any suggestions on what the best way to filter out people who can or cannot join the group? As much as I would like to be open to new members I would really just want true collectors to be a part of the group but the difficult thing is how can we determine this?

Any suggestions would be great!

Perhaps we can have a referral system, where an established member can vouch for a new person attempting to join? I know that may seem a bit exclusive and hard for brand new people to be added, but that is sort of the point of a closed group. We can also sort of verify if someone is already established on DPF by their activity stats here for those people seeking to join. Also, it's not like things like the item links won't be on at least 5 other facebook groups' pages at the same time anyway...

Polaris... One way you can separate the collectors from the non-collectors is to have "members" submit a picture that includes some of their collection and within that picture, should be a name card with their "member" name, that way you know no one is using someone else's picture. The name card should actually be placed within the collection. :o) Just an idea.

Polaris, what a great idea with the Facebook page. I took a mini break from the forum and almost missed the release next week. I set up Facebook to send updates to my phone so I can take a break if I need to and not miss anything! I think it was funny how many Ursula's flooded the market and now sellers are letting them go at close to retail. I suspect the same will happen with Frozen. I wonder if this Anna will be more popular than the first one since she is more of a match to the first Elsa. Do you think people want both sets or one of each doll in the coordinating outfit from each release? I personally own the Harrods set and wish the Anna in that set was a fancier version of the newest release Anna.

Yeah I was thinking that too, a referral system would be the easiest way to go about it. I know it sounds snobby and very exclusive but like Shiva said if it is not done then its the same as just having an open forum. Plus it does sound pretty cool being in an exclusive group hehe.

Ok so to help me figure out who is who on the forum and who has been added can you guys message me on the facebook group what your dpf name is? That way it wont flood my inbox on here and I can just do a list up to match people's facebook with their DPF. Will that work alright?

Also would people be ok if going forward we do the referral process? Also asking for their DPF name? I know the glaring factor that information like links etc will be available on other facebook groups and even here on the site but I figured it would still be nice to have a group of true collectors? Open to suggestions so let me know what you think.

I feel like I'm in trouble. ;) I just wanted to collect villain dolls because they are my favorites. I love them. They are always dressed more interestingly, in colors that I like, and are much more interesting to me. Then...Elsa came along. I truly adore and love this character. So stunningly beautiful and so relatable and her song is one of my forever favorites now. To top it all off, she's not even a princess, she's a Queen. ;) I bought the Snow Queen Elsa for superficial reasons since I didn't know her character. I saw the movie and fell in love. I plan on buying the Coronation Queen Elsa doll for both reasons.
Now, my pickle, should I buy the Snow Anna? I very much prefer her in that look: it's adorable, it's her iconic image in my eyes (regardless of how she is marketed), and I just like it better. BUT! I still only really care for Elsa. Should I buy the Anna doll as a companion piece to my Snow Queen Elsa or should I just leave it as my two Elsa's?

Talk about first world problems, huh? ;)

Same here. I like her reminiscent red riding hood outfit. I saw the movie again today and she is just to cute. I say go ahead and get her and if you dont want her anymore, just trade or sell her. :)

I agree with AmandaAutumn definitely worth getting Anna and then deciding later if you want to keep her or not. At the end of the day even though you cannot return the doll to Disney I am pretty confident you will be able to sell her to cover the cost of the doll plus any other incidental costs like shipping and tax.

I think that if you don't buy the Anna, you'll regret it. She is really beautiful and I'm personally a proponent of buying what "speaks to you." I also love the edginess of the Villians, but this Anna looks really special to me. It is far better, if you have the money available, to buy her and change your mind later than it is to miss out and have her go up in price. It's entirely possible that she'll be as popular as Elsa this time around because she looks so great!

Just sent the Facebook request! Is there anything else I need to do to be approved? :)

The 10k listing for Anna and Elsa just "sold". Lol yeah right

Seriously why do they even bother? LOL Maybe they were trying to prove a point or something? But I dont think anyone is silly enough to believe it as it is obviously fake. Did you see whether or not the buyer has a feedback at all?

Why on earth would someone do that? Obviously, it is bogus, but if the person bought their own auction, wouldn't they have to pay eBay their fees? I looked on eBay and it looks like around 10% for final value fees.

Even if they fake buy them, how do they get away with not paying the eBay fees?

LOL that's a good point, the person will have to pay $1k worth of fees to ebay LOL.

Unless of course they then lodge a non payment claim? Because they reverse the fees then but it would still look like the item sold as it is still recorded on ebay as a sale as ebay does not indicate if a sale was reversed due to no payment. It still appears green and sold when you do a sold only search.
