Frozen Disney Store Merchandise, What are you looking forward to? (Contains Spoilers)
Is there a reason why disney doesn't hire teenagers as face characters?

I mean, it would make sense for a 18-21 yr old to play ariel, anna, elsa, and the others.

I mean.. I don't know about you, but it puts me off to see an adult woman being Ariel, just cause her character is supposed to be 16 years old.

She probably is about 20, I personally don't think she looks old :), I just don't think she has the right face for Anna is all!

I agree but Disney won't hire you unless you can double as other princesses. She looks more like an Ariel or Cinderella to me.

Oh yes, I realise this :) (I worked in costuming at wdw hehe). None of the Anna's we've seen so far have really had an amazing Anna face, I think it's because she has a much different look to the other princesses :)!

Haha sorry! Did you work in the Animal Kingdom one? I've been in there for an audition before and thought it was cool. I also agree about her face but I think some of the girls who play Snow White would be a good match for her but I'm not casting and who knows what goes through their heads. I feel like most of the Elsas they picked look like her, even if in the movie Anna and Elsa look similar.

No, I worked in the Magic kingdom one :)! But I visited AK costuming during training :D! Yes I agree one of snow whites friends might be a good match for her :)

Ah that's cool! :)

So does anyone know if this dress is for a special ceremony like they did for Merida last summer, or is it a new dress so she can go outside and do meet and greets and parades and not have a heat stroke?

I'm pretty sure Disneyworld hires teens. I know one girl in real life who was Cinderella and she was 17 when she was hired.

It doesn't bother me to see older ladies as princesses so long as they look the part. And if it is not at a disney park, I don't mind any one of any age or size or race cosplaying and dressing up as a princess. There is an Ariel I see at conventions who must be in her 40s and she looks divine as Ariel. Little kids flock to her and everyone takes pictures.

I think Anna looks great in that photo. But the picture is a bit fuzzy and her wig is what I think makes her look off. The bangs are too full and long so her hairline is off.

And back to merchandise: I just realized Elsa's tiara is gold in the movie but her merchandise tiara is silver. Anna doesn't have a crown, so her gold one looks more like Elsa's from the movie. Both are missing a blue stone like Elsa's has, but I guess the dangling gem has enough iridescence to reflect blues.

I agree that Anna looks odd.

Some of the characters Ive seen are kind of odd choices in casting. We met a Latina Belle who had a mustache. She was very cute and friendly, but not who I would have cast as Belle. And someone couldnt have directed to her a spa for a waxing??

I would love to hear everyone's thoughts regarding Anna's "princess look." Right now everyone is calling the Snow Gear look her iconic look, but if you look at it against other Disney ladies it is actually her "peasant dress." So do you think Disney will start marketing her in her more princessy (coronation) look or keep her in the Snow Gear?

Personally, I think the SG is fine, but without the cape it looks VERY frumpy, especially when compared to Elsa's glamorous (whoever said this I love it) 'nightgown' dress. Her merch may not in fact be selling as well (as Elsa's) simply because of this. Also she does her two big songs in the green gown. I love the green dress, and I would buy anything with her wearing it, but I am restricting myself to SG outfits that at least include the cape.

So what do ya'll think, will we be seeing the coronation gown take over once Anna is crowned?

I'm not sure but I also prefer her coronation dress. I love how red heads looks in green and I love the romantic look of the dress and the cut of it. I think it is a good contrast to Elsa's ice dress too because it looks more spring or summery with the green and rosemaling.

I just got home from my local mall (and its Disney Store). Oh my God. It's like Frozen didn't even exist. All they had left was a few nightgowns, Hanz dolls, and Anna plush dolls. If it wasn't for "Let it Go" plying on the monitors, you'd have thought it was just about Anna and Hanz and wasn't that new. I did preorder the movie though. The lithos in person...they just look bigger than normal but still not very impressive. I think I'll give my mom the Olaf one, frame the Elsa one, and then split the cover and frame those...storing the other two lithos behind them...:/

I was able to successfully order the Coronation Elsa doll online (thanks to Mike). But when I was there, I told the girl that I ordered the doll online but was curious if they had a display doll so I could take an in person peek. She looked confused and I couldn't read her facial thought process, but the store manager just snipped in and barked "We didn't get it in." It left me feeling like these doll releases potentially make the employees hate life. ;) Think about it, constantly being asked the same questions over and over again...with the same answer being available each time. Maybe she's snapped. ;) Oh well...just have to wait even longer to finally see my Elsa doll. <3

That happened to me back when I was new to forum. I didn't use quote function but instead addressed someone with "at" symbol in front of person's name. Did you do that? In my case, it never did post. I don't know why it needed to be moderated--perhaps the bot thought it was email address and was programmed to send automated message? Have no idea.
No I don't think I did use that symbol, but I can't remember. I don't know why it happened either, but a nice moderator said they would review it, and hopefully it is okay to post. Maybe it could be because I'm new?

Good question. I think Anna is going to go against the grain and her snow dress with cape is going to be her iconic dress. I think this because Elsa in her ice dress is her iconic look and Anna in her green dress is paired with Elsa's coronation dress, not the ice dress. The snow dress is Anna's "transformation" gown. She almost becomes Gerda (from the Snow Queen) with that look. I think it has enough fairytale charm to be her true iconic look. I think it is beautiful. Then again, I love Germanic/Nordic/Ect. looking outfits quite a bit.

Thinking about it, Rapunzel never gets a second fancy gown in her movie. Her purple dress really isn't that glamorous.

Do you think her attire could reflect where she is in the park? For inside venues, the coronation dress. Outside at Epcot, maybe the winter gear? Belle is in her blue peasant dress when outside at Epcot, but in the fancy yellow dress when doing inside photo-op events. Not sure what she wears at MK for the Enchanted Tales with Belle.

I'm sure it was just something silly. You shouldn't worry too much. I just rewrote my message when it said it needed to be moderated. I was like, "Oh, yeah? I'll rewrite it then." Haha.

 That's probably what I should of done. I'll do that next time it says it needs to be moderated.

It's not a great picture, but I thought Anna looked great at DLRP when I saw her in the parade. Don't know if anyone else also does her or only this girl.

I think she looks young and fun.

Nooo, not when I don't have the money for it! Aww.

Edit: Can anyone tell me whether the Elsa singing doll is of a good quality? I've seen photos, but does her "singing" actually work properly? I'm thinking of getting one but I'm still kind of hesitant because of the reviews on DS.

I think they must have only had one or two snowglobes back in stock. I managed to get to checkout with it but didn't order it as I already have one. I would keep an eye out though if anyone wants one. I'm sure it will pop back up again.
