2014 Designer Dolls - Fairytale Collection Part II

I really, really don't think this will be the only designer collection released this year. Some people have confirmed the continuation of the line of the princesses in the fall. At my DS the managers told us it was a sure deal. Even if some cast members had not given their confidence in the 2nd part of the fairytale collection, I really doubt Disney will skip them as that is their biggest seller. I think the fairies designer line is merely a bonus and a missed opportunity that was not taken last year when they re-released Peter Pan. So for those who are upset about not getting the other princesses, cheer up, I really think we will be seeing them

Yup, heaven. Love them both and know Disney could make them look gorgeous. It was one of my favorite Disney movies as a kid. Not enough Robin Hood love from Disney. On eBay, someone in Portugal is selling all these Robin Hood toys--tree house, wagons, the elephant guards, Little John, etc. When did those come out!? Or was it only in Europe?

I'm glad they used the designer formula for these dolls. I think the boxes are the best style of doll display and box all in one that I have seen for any doll.

I love the designer cases, although I don't like when it's the full collection all lined up as they look a bit boring, prefer the LE ones with the different background and colours. But tinks looks amazing, I want to put some glitter in the bottom of her case for pixie dust lol.

Sadly they're already on ebay, which is ridiculous. Some people are asking over $200 for them. And they don't even have the dolls. I would definitely report them.

I agree with you in that it is a little odd to just release two dolls let alone one being the newest character, I would have thought that they would have released dolls of the other popular fairies like Periwinkle but my guess is that they only released these two as they are the main two characters in the upcoming movie so just wanted to highlight them??

Either way it is a strange release which is why I think that is is a spin off like you said, maybe from now on every time they release a new Tink movie they will release a new designer fairy doll with it to build on this collection as two dolls is not really a collection lol.

Of course what this does mean is that there will still be an official designer release at the end of the year and that these are not the "designer" dolls of 2014 but are instead a designer related doll release to commemorate the new Tinker Bell movie.

It's stupid and ridiculous, really. I was also thinking about reporting it - I mean, they don't have the dolls, yet - not even a pre-order!
People should try and get the dolls themselves - especially since these dolls are cheaper than the regular price - 60 USD or something, right?

It would be nice if they kept doing these little releases for other characters, I bet they're using this set to test the waters of popularity! It would be nice to finally see the heroines that everyone wants like meg, Jane, esmerelda etc !! I can't wait to see photos of this summers designer dolls

I'm actually not expecting any more fairies because they actually canceled the other films they were going to make of the other fairies and I think there will only be one more now after this one. So unless they release more for the last film, which I could see them doing. Apparently the films and merchandise aren't selling well as they like, so they've decided to drop it. I'm actually quite sad about this because I have a lot of good memories of the line when it was new and my first trip to Disney World I remember watching it in my hotel room with my mom.

Guys dont forget that the US excludes tax from their price tag therefore these dolls will probably cost about $65-$66 depending on where you are located within the US. Also that being said since the dolls are less than $75 you will have to pay shipping of around $8 in the US. So that being said the dolls will actually come to around $74-75.

In the UK the prices include taxes and they have free shipping for everything 50 pounds or greater, therefore what this means is that you will just be paying 50 pounds per doll which works out to be about $83USD at today's rate. So yes it is slightly more expensive in the UK but overall the prices would be reflected based on the cost of living in the UK as well. Dont forget paying someone at the warehouse in the UK to pack and ship your items will cost more than it will for someone in the US it is just the way it is when dealing when dealing with sales of products around the world. If you are interested you should read up on the Big Mac index as it is an economic theory about why selling the same item in a different country will not necessarily always equate to the same amount worldwide.

I personally find the Tinkerbell films to be pretty good for direct-to-dvd movies. I am looking forward to "The Pirate Fairy" because its finally getting into the story of Peter Pan. I would like to see the other characters in the future, but I don't know if that will happen. If not, I will be fine with it. I'm just glad they are making a beautiful doll of Tink (the more I look at her, the more impatient I get). I got my college refund check in today which couldn't have come at a better time because I am SO using it on her!

They did cancel some upcoming films, but there is 1 or 2 after this I believe. Also, there wasn't a lot of merch for the last couple films and there is for this one, plus they upped the production quality and star power. I suspect they may have canceled those outlier films until they see if they can get to the dollar amount they want with the new efforts and merchandising. I love the Fairies line personally, and always get sad when the limit the amount of merch released. I'd bug snow globes, mugs, and dolls for sure of the non-LE kind. I also wish they would do the whole gang in the 11" size, the tinies are okay, but they loose a lot of detail. I want a proper Vidia, the one they did for the third film, her face was so off - especially compared to her tiny, which has the best Vidia face ever!

yep at the moment it is just these two that have been confirmed to be released on the 18/19th. I don't think there are any others expected

That is what I am hoping for too. If they are really only going to make one or two more, then finish off the movies with a film about how she meets Peter. It would be the perfect ending to the movie franchise.

I kind of hope they keep the series going! I mean they are a lot better than any sequels made and better than some of the classics! I think for direct to dvd movies they are really good and seem to get better each one! I loved great fairy rescue and secret of the wings and this new one looks good. Personally I prefer them to Peter Pan! But for the final film I hope they show how she meets Peter .

I have a few of the book fairies, so far Prilla and Rani. the book Vidia is off (she looks like a child) though the rest look like the illustrations. The flutter Vidia they did for the 3rd film doesn't look like the movie version either. I just want a 11" Vidia with the face mold from the tiny version...in a Designer case

If they made any more of the characters down the road, I would personally like a doll of Silvermist. She is my second favorite fairy with Tinkerbell being my first. Thankfully, there are some really nice alternative collector dolls out there for the other characters if Designer versions of the other fairies aren't made. Like the collectors dolls from Jakks Pacific. They include a high quality doll with a charm that is a vial of "pixie dust", a special doll stand, diorama box, and a DVD that has a scene from the films.
