Ok. How many of you have set up a pin trade and then forgot to mail the package?

I got a package in the mail today. I wasn't expecting anything but when I opened the envelope, there were two pins I had traded for. How could I forget? I sent a PM to the trader to let them know I received my pins and thanked them. They responded and asked if I had tracking for them. I went to look up the tracking and realized I hadn't even sent the pin. I was mortified!! This trader was going to think I am an idiot and a flake. I have never done this before. I immediately sent an apology. I sure do feel stupid. I think being sick for four weeks with cold and flu must have fried my brain.

I hope my trader can forgive me. Your package is going in the mail on Monday.

Still feeling stupid. :(

Yep, did the same thing recently... Only mine was a sale. Looking through pins about a week later I saw one I was sure I only ever had one of, and I knew I sold it... That's when I realized I never shipped it. *Horror*

Fortunately, the buyer was like 'No problem, thanks for letting me know.' :) Most of us seem to be pretty cool about things like that here, I'm sure we've all forgotten something at one time or another.

We're all human!! It happens -- most people are understanding! If the trader knows anything about you, they know they've got nothing to worry about. Feel better!!

We are all human, cant do everything 100% of the time :) at least you realised that you havent sent it. All you can do is say sorry :)

Been there and done it,I just send a friendly letter mentioning I forgot and then send a extra pin to make up for it

I never forgot to send a package, but I once agreed to a trade request someone sent me and they never replied to confirm. But one day I just received their pin and I hadn't sent out mine yet, because they never got back to me about when they would want to ship. So I mailed them with apologies and I sent out mine. I never heard from them again, so weird.

I have never done that before....you know they say the mind is the first thing to go. Must be an old age thing, you need to stop pin trading and give all of your pins to me (That's if you can remember to do that). :naughty::naughty::lol::lol::lol: JK

We all probably have done that one time or another.

This is no biggie. I've made a much worse offense. I locked down a multi trade with someone. Pulled what I thought was all of the pins and mailed them. The next day I went to a trade meet and traded one of the pins that was supposed to have been mailed off. The person gets their pins and was like umm..where's my pin!?! Luckily it was with a person I've traded with before and he was more than understanding. He told me just not to forget that I owed it to him. I scrambled for a week or so to get the pin again. I did and sent it to him with a little something extra for my blunder. Like everyone said above, we are all human and make mistakes. I can only hope that the person you are trading with is understanding.

Thanks everyone. I feel a little better knowing I am not alone. My trader sent me a message and was very understanding about the situation. :)

It happens to all of us!! I have the problem of forgetting to respond to PMs when I take a little time to think about a trade. At least you remembered the trade when you received their pin!!

We just had a similar thing happen. Amy took some packages to the post office for me and forgot a bag of international pins that had to be mailed. It happens to everybody, the key is letting the other trader know what happened asap. I have never had a problem with anybody for not mailing right away. Life happens, it is what happens afterward that is the important part. The only time I got really upset with somebody here was when she told me she mailed it on a date and the envelope had a different date and she lied about everything.

I did the same thing once. Thank goodness the other trader was so understanding. I felt pretty bad about it, though, so I made sure to send an extra pin along with the trade.

I have the worst memory ever, I have done that probably at least twice! I just did it to PrinceAli here in the forum. Most people are cool about it :)

I haven't forgotten to send (yet) but I have sent the wrong pin. I've also accepted trades with my address and did not hear back. A few days later, I received the trade and then I had to send an awkward email that I didn't know the trade was on but was now sending the pin. Things happen :)

I've had the same thing with the date, when I ship an international package on a Friday, it will get the poststamp from the Monday after, I saw it last week when I shipped some packages, so weird!

And Sue, I also have forgotten a few times to ship packages but most are really understanding :)

I think we've all done that at least once. Sometimes life gets busy and we forget about the hobby until we receive a little brown envelope in the mail.

I agreed to a trade with TBird, only to go home and not be able to find the pin. I felt horrible. Then, when I contacted him, he had already sent mine! UGH, I was sure he thought I was a terrible trader, but he was very cool and said to just consider it a zap. Thankfully, after searching through my pins for a few days, I found the one that I was supposed to send and mailed her off. I still feel badly about it, though.

No need to feel bad, I would trade with you again in a heartbeat. I know that your a great person and I would never have to worry about you making it right if something went wrong. That is what is so great about the people on this forum, they are all such wonderful people!!
