So I got home today to find a package I was really excited about getting. 14 pins from ebay

The first one for my year collection was great

My attraction pins I ordered looked pretty good too...

Look again though! A blue giraffe on the safari pin and Donald's face is blue on the Kali pin. None of the sliders slide properly!

This looks pretty good (other than being filthy) but Mickey is loose

I was really looking forward to this one because it holds great memories for me... And it arrived like this!

Filthy and stained

How does someone even manage to damage their pins this much?

I'm not sure what this is, but it is not a lapel pin!!

These next two I was most excited about..

Goofy is filthy, has something stuck to him (looks like tissue gone hard) and has odd green staining

and they're both lobsided

Final two!

Both have bent posts!

Yes. I'm going to as soon as I get a change. I didn't check if they accept returns or not, but I have a sneaky suspicion they don't

Even if they don't accept returns, if they did not specify the pins where in that condition and damaged you can open a case with ebay about receiving damaged goods. You will get your money back :). My guess is that the pins where handled by children, on my own collection I have used a q-tip with a drop of witch hazel to clean up the pins. It gives them great shine and has not damaged in any way. Good Luck!

It's not possible to not accept returns on eBay, part of their and PayPal's policy. You can return an item for any reason, show PayPal that you returned the item (shipping tracking number), and they will refund your money. Doesn't matter what they state in their auction listing, if they accept PayPal, they accept returns. If they accept credit cards through some other service, they accept returns. That's part of the policy any seller has to agree to in order to allow purchases by credit card (which eBay requires).

and you can even go through ebay because the items are not as stated...I had a recent issue with someone sending me a fraudulent jersey, and I tried to work it out, but look at ebay, they have a 30 day policy to cover you. I missed out on that and had to go through paypal to get my money back, but ebay definitely protects you as the buyer, whether they have a return policy or not

It doesn't matter PayPal will always side with the buyer. Even if the seller does not accept returns.. how were the pictures in the actual listings?

The pictures were not the same as the pins i got. I did notice today that the Donald pin that isn't lapel is stained in the picture, but the one I received isn't.

The seller is being very helpful though :)

Thats good! A seller should be as helpful as possible and hope you get this sorted :)

I personally just go straight to opening a case, a buyer shouldn't have to deal with a seller that is obviously shady by not disclosing defects, I also don't think it's fair that ebay makes the buyer pay for return shipping, because let's face it, if you knew that it was junk you wouldn't have bought it. Whatever you end up doing I hope it works out in your favor.

Witch Hazel, huh? That's so funny I use it as an astringent.

You should message me about the year pins that you have, I might have one you need. I would have to look because it's not listed with my traders as it was probably a park/HM trader, but it's worth a shot.

That is so sad that people will sell pins in this condition, without disclosing the poor quality of the pins! :( If the seller won't do anything about it, contact eBay directly, open a case, and explain the items were not received in the condition described in the listing, and they will fix it all for you! I have unfortunately dealt with the same situation in the past and eBay MADE the seller allow the return and refund my money!

I'm so sorry you have to deal with this. Good luck with your case. Glad they are being helpful thus far.

Whatever is on Goofy there... ewww!

I've fixed many a bent post, very very carefully, and most of the dioramas that I've bought have been lopsided to some degree. I'd try the witch hazel on the dirty ones and if it didn't get clean, I'd request a refund. I'm one that tries to fix (to some point) if I can. Whenever I put something on "that auction place" , I take my own pictures of a pin front and back.
