In my eyes this totally screws over anyone who goes through all that effort and doesn't pull a good number... sad that I probably won't be going :( Chances will probably be close to 1 in 3 if the Maleficent release is anything to go off... :( And I was excited too!

Good luck everyone <3

What? You need a voucher to get in the trading the event and it will be based on what number you get? So if I get a bad number I would still have to wait to get into the trading area when people who got a good number leave the area. So basically if you pull #500 and up its not worth staying for anything: No pins, no PTD and no trading for you?

That's what I read it to be. :(

There is also no reference as to WHERE the breakfast will be served, just that you have to have a voucher to get breakfast (consisting of croissants and hot cocoa [hopefully made with milk].)

I'm hoping that there will be a few people passing out croissants as people get their vouchers and then cocoa nearby :)

I think that if they wanted to separate the place where you pay versus the place where you pick up pins - they should have had it as pay at GSF/DSF and pick up inside El Capitan. Also, they should have let voucher #s 500-800 into the hotel to trade first, since voucher #s 1-400+ will be busy in line at GSF/DSF, and maybe give them a 1-2 hour time limit; i.e. if there are people waiting outside to come in to trade (either voucher #s 1-400 or 800-1xxx, those that are inside have to leave within a certain time); like if the hotel is open at 7am, they should be told to leave at 9am to allow other traders to come in. If by chance people leave before 2 hours, the number of people leaving can be replaced by an equal number coming in; and if by chance there is no one waiting outside in line to come in, those that are inside can stay longer than the time limit but must leave once a line starts forming. Maybe that's too complicated for GSF/DSF to figure out.

The El Capitan Wrisbands at least don't get damaged by water. They've done wristbands the night before a few times and it wasn't a problem taking a shower....

make sure to put a plastic bag around your wrist then tape it to your arm. any signs of removed or altered wristbands will void them. lol

Alright the campouts are back way to go soda fountain.I will get their at 11:45pm for my wristbands and stay at the camp till 5:30am for my voucher#...

I'm not sure why anyone would need to stay the night as it says you have anytime on Friday and then the release is Saturday, is it because some of you live too far to come back 2 days in a row?

I'm glad they extended wrist band pick up on Friday until midnight. 8pm is just not late enough for those of us who work full-time and don't live in LA. Now at least we'll have a chance. Of course that will also increase the number of wristbands.

Many people live 2 hours or more away from DSF (I live an hour away if there's no traffic whatsoever). If you get a wristband at the latest possible time, 12 midnight, it's not going to be worth it for people to drive home to sleep for an hour, only to turn around and drive back to make it for the 5:30 a.m. voucher cut off. Might as well pay the $13 to park at the Hollywood & Highland and either sleep in the car or get the chair/tent and camp out in the alley.

I know a few people coming from NV, AZ, and Northern California for the release. They could save money ($50-200) by not getting a motel/hotel room for the night. Leave at 12 noon (or later), make it by wristband cut-off time and then just go to the alley.

Others are going to get their wristbands and then go clubbing.

Yes, the whole trading part of this release is what irks me. I have been a bit nervous for this release because it will be crazy, but I thought, at least I can go trade afterwards if I get a bad number. Well, I was wrong...this release caters to the people who have the good numbers. The least they could do is let the people with bad numbers go trade first since 1-400 will be in line buying the pins anyway. But now, if you pull #2000, you might as well just go home because there is no way you're getting in that room to trade.

Hoestly it's a good thing for them. There is no way 2000 people can just hang around all day, let alone 50% of them not being pin traders. Even if you put 1000 in the alleyway and 1000 in the hotel thats still a ton of people on the street.

I understand the room capacity thing, but why is it fair for 1-400 to be off buying pins leaving the trading area empty while the people with bad numbers could be in there trading?
