Received an e-mail about how Disney is removing Item #15 For Every Laugh the is a Tear pin set from the Imagination Gala Pin Event Merchandise catalog

Pin 100785: WDW - Imagination Gala - For Every Laugh There's a Tear

I am so pissed. I really wanted Bambi and to use the other ones as traders :(

Maybe if we sent e-mails to Disney saying that we still want the set they will do it?

Official e-mail from Disney

Two tiny wings, eyes big and yellow, horns of a steer, but a lovable fellow, from head to tail, he’s royal purple pigment, and there, Voila! You’ve got a Figment!

That’s right everyone! It’s me Figment! And I’m writing to you just months before my big event where I’ll be hosting the Imagination Gala! But first, my ole pal Dreamfinder has sparked a few inspiration updates for all the pin creations he’s been imagining.

Due to unforeseen circumstances surrounding production, Item #15 For Every Laugh There’s a Tear pin set has been removed from the Imagination Gala merchandise offering. Remaining items in the catalog will keep their original product number.

What this means for your RSP:

If you have not yet started an RSP – NO ACTION IS REQUIRED. You may initiate the RSP process at any time and will not be impacted by this change!
If you have started or completed an RSP that does not include item #15 in your requests – NO ACTION IS REQUIRED. You may continue to log-in and view or modify your selections until July 27.
If you have started or completed an RSP that does include item #15 in your requests we ask that you please choose one of the following actions below:

Use your registration code: XXXXXXXXXXX to log-in here. You will find a blank selection where item #15 was previously entered on your RSP. You will then:
Please choose another item to replace item #15 in your selection list OR
Promote the remaining items on your list to fill in the gap (the last entry may be left blank or filled in with a new item)
You may continue to rearrange any of the preferences on your RSP at any time before July 27.
Contact us for a full reset of your RSP allowing you to enter your preferences from the start. You may reply to this email or call us during regular business hours at (407)827-7600.

In addition, the name of Item #11 has been re-imagined into “Remember When.” No action is required regarding your RSP preferences.

Well, that’s all from your ole pal Figment until we meet again on the purple carpet of the Imagination Gala! But first lets all join together in song as we remember what has brought us all together – our ‘Imagination, imagination. A dream, can be a dream come true, with just one spark, in me and you!’

Thank you,
Disney Events

I really hope that this pin set wasn't cancelled because people complained. I mean, what, are people upset by this pin set? If so, those people should never watch Disney movies...EVER!

There is absolutely nothing wrong with this pin set. There are paintings of these amazing moments, so why can't there be pins? I really think everyone who is going should complain that Disney chickened out on this set...

The email said there was production problems, isn't it just possible that something went wrong and they're not able to fix it before the event? Why does it have to mean that Disney pulled the set?

In the chances of being attacked for this opinion, I thought it was a terrible set. I didn't really care that it was being released, but I am honestly shocked by people upset that it won't be released. Just an opinion. And not saying anyone is wrong for wanting the set, just...surprised. Disney could produce something way better than this for the time and money that goes into producing a pin set. I'm just interested as to how the meeting for a new pin set idea went when John/Jane Doe said "How about we commemorate the saddest moments in Disney? You know, the parts everyone hates but are necessary for plot development?" LOL :P Hope it works out well for you all though!

I didn't want this set at all, and didn't like it too much. But I'm really bummed it's not being made. Just because people were going to ask for this on their RSP at the top (#1, #2 choice) and that was going to give me better odds to get MY #1, #2 choices. Now, there will be more people fighting for the fewer sets left behind...

Interesting... Disney also had a production problem for the "'Rebel Rendezvous" event in May and they just bumped the delivery date out to July for RSP#12 set. Wonder what the issue was to cancel the set altogether??

I can almost guarantee it had nothing to do with production. Either guests complained or someone within Disney put a kibbosh on it for fear of complaints. So pathetic. What a great set. I'm hoping MAYBE it was just the Simba/Mufasa one causing the issue and that the rest can be broken up and put on boards.

With the clients I work with we use that excuse for pretty much anything. It pushes the blame off on someone else.

At the DSF event I talked to the lead guy with a few other people about this set specifically.

He said there's possibly hundreds of pins each year that don't make it because of production problems. And it's reallllllly likely *wink wink nudge nudge* that this set didn't make it because one of the pins in the set had a major flaw that didn't get caught until to end of production and the whole set of the one pin had to be reordered.

He said that at this time it's really likely that it'll be released on the DS.com at a later date.

i pray to god they do get released.

While I will not be attending this event I was still hoping to acquire the Penny and Rufus pin at some point.
It's such a great pin that shows some love for a couple of very rarely seen characters.
Now I'm going to shed a tear knowing it may never be in my collection :(

I'm hoping they get released at a later date too. I wasn't too fond of them at first but they're growing on me.
