What are your pin-related goals for the year? Have you resolved to spend less? Get a certain grail? An inquiring mind would like to know :D

As for me, I'm hoping to collect 12 PTD's! I want to start a new collection, but I can't say I have a lot of spare money at the moment. I figure one pin a month should be enough to hold me over for the year I hope! *fingers crossed* lol

~ Spend less, and be judicious about which pins to get (trying to cut down on "ooh, shiny!" instant gratification, especially on pins that don't fit in my already established collections)
~ Clear out my keeper binders and focus on the collections that I am actively working on
~ get at least one grail-type pin for my Lion King and Robin Hood collections

Our goals are:

- Think before we buy
- Focus on our main collections and let the small pins go
- And we also want to start collecting PTDs (but selectively).

My biggest goal is to spend less money on shipping, by limiting my overseas trades, and not sending out so many gifts. (I sent out close to 75 zaps in 2014, and although it was a lot of fun, I just can't do it anymore. This year I'm going to try to limit myself to about 25.)

My other goal is to resist temptation as much as possible when it comes to random pins I see for sale here, on Instagram, and on Facebook - and instead try to save up and focus on buying one nice limited edition pin for my collection a month. Something I can be proud of. :)

I'm only missing about 10 pins* to be complete in my collection after nearly a decade of serious collecting (though I first started back in 1999) so my goal for this year is to find the four that there's actually a chance could turn up. The others are impossible so I'm going to just try to hope for the merely *REALLY REALLY difficult* ones in my signature. :D

Oh, and next week I'm putting all my trade pins up for sale, so I'm also hoping I can sell them all in a couple of lots to help pay some bills.

* a few of the more recent pins still on my wants list are in the process of being acquired. :) The only one I still need from 2014 is that WDW Festival of Fantasy pin but other than that, I'm just missing the older pins on my wants. So close and yet so far!

My goals for the new year for pins:

1. Make more displays to enjoy the pins I have

2. Complete a trade through Pin pics or anywhere really

3. Follow my price limit on grail pins and not regret that decision
(I have to work on the no regret part the most, having just lost two to bidding wars and snipes)

4. Stop glaring at the blond on the front page of pin pics for having a major grail on her lanyard....

5. If I can't trade a pin in a year make it a possible zap pin

My pin resolutions are to go to a pin event in Northern California, to complete a few mystery sets, and to work on my side collections (Spanish, Java, and teaching).

Oh this is such a good thread!! Nothing like the New Year to bring out our ambitions. OK for me the list is surely longer than this but my main objectives are...

1. Sell/trade pins that I don't like, want, NEED or fit into my main loves.
2. Refuse to overpay for pins no matter how much I NEED them lol.
3. Send more anonymous zaps (my personal fav)
4. Get to the parks/DSF and do at cost pickups for fellow collectors also out of the area.
5. ORGANIZE EVERYTHING!

I have a few goals for myself this year for sure;

* Trade for or find one of the Ariel pins in my signature for a reasonable price.
* Trade for or find one of the Aurora pins in my signature for a reasonable price.
* Get a frame for my Rapunzel collection, as I'm the happiest with it thus far.
* Finish the Eau De Magique collection - I decided to collect all of it and I'm excited!
* Visit the Disney Soda Fountain at least once and find a nice pin there.

Keep working on my Kaa collection and maybe obtain at least one grail - and of course get any future King Candy pins that may or may not release this year so that I can stay a completist, haha!

I also want to take a trip to WDW in the winter and buy some LE pins in person, either for friendly pickups or trades! Would be awesome to meet anyone in the area at that time as well! I was not a pin trader the last time I was there!

Finally, I want to do a grail zap for someone random this summer! Someone who may not even know me!

:)

First off Sara (sorapandora) I have one of the pins on your list. Pm me.

My goals for the year.

1)Run another free pin game(already working on that one thanx to Darice)

2)Do a 12 zaps of Christmas in July thread.

3)zap more people this year then last.

4)Do another 12+zaps of Christmas in November again because it was so much fun the last time.

5)Throw another pin trading party in May to meet up with old friends and make new ones. (Okay so this one is also already in the planning stages.

6)Make more trades, mostly here.

That is a good start.

Do you have the 12 in mind or will it just be 12 that catch your fancy as the year rolls on?

I think my major goal for this year is to try and focus on one particular collection and hopefully get some really nice pins for it. I'm just not sure what collection I will do that for - I was thinking Belle, but I'm tempted to focus on Frozen or Jasmine. But other than that I want to try and get a pin bag for my various smaller collections like Peter Pan, Lady and the Tramp and Robin Hood as they're currently just in a draw.

I would just really like to get my Very Bad Slip Sven :) Other than that I will be on a slight hiatus from pin buying, doing minimal trades and I'll only be buying UK releases to build up my traders. My fella and I will be getting our first house this year come hell or high water so I need to be strong and stop the pin spending :)

* keep the spending to a minimum
* only trade for my collection, seeing as the postal office has become too expensive to casually trade
* focus on Tangled
* find the Tangled designer pins
* find the BATB Human Again set

So my plan was to only buy pins to complete my already started collections (and only buy them at a fair price). Started out great... managed to get two of the Cast Exclusive Stained Glass Collection Tower of Terror, and Turtle Talk, and now I only need Chip and Dale Tree of Life and Daisy Mission Space!!
But then I decided to start the Eau de Magique collection and bought 2 of them (also at great prices). So now I've already spent more than I intended lol and it's only January 8th!!! I really have to curb my Disney spending all together.
So going forward my resolutions are still to only buy pins needed to complete collections at really REALLY good prices, try to make some trades for pins I like but am not desperate for (and would prefer not to buy), send out some zaps, and maybe sell some pins if I can't make more trades. :) And to be more active on here because its fun and I like sharing the hobby with people who enjoy it as well (since my friends and family don't quite get it lol)

My goal is to buckle down and focus effort/$$$ on knocking off some of my most wanted Alice grails. (Of course, because I am cursed with expensive taste [which my father has rued since the day I was born, ha], they're all older, HTF, rare, and fairly pricey. Blah.) I wedged in a few last year, but since I am one of the fools who also collects (some) Frozen pins, I've gotten distracted too often and poor Alice has fallen by the wayside. (Alice Grail Fund + New Frozen Release I Really Want = No More Alice Grail Fund.) She is and will always be my primary collection, so I need to give her some love.

Good luck on resisting temptations to all :) I hope everyone has a good pin year and finds grails a-plenty (without spending too much)
I think we all have the same resolutions really lol Pins are so addictive

new goal this year.... Get back in the mix and have as much fun as we all can as often as we can at DLR.

Mine is to:

- Have and keep within a monthly Pin budget
- Sell my existing traders to pay for the pins I want. (since I haven't much luck trading lately)
- Be very selective on the PTD's I get (Traveling down to DSSH to purchase myself)

Ditto that xD Everyone I know accepts it but thinks I am insane.

• Buy any new releases for Beauty & the Beast, Robin Hood, Donald & Daisy.
• Start working on a good Sleeping Beauty collection, with emphasis on Briar Rose.
• Slow down and think before purchasing.
• Make a grail fund.
• Start zapping. :)

One thing I'd like to do that's not really a resolution is to consider whether my current tactic of focusing on buying pins for trade is really working for me. I don't have a lot of opportunities to trade, and when I do, there aren't many pins from my main themes being offered. Trading sure seems more fun than buying though. :/ I'm going to keep trying before I give up.
