DisneyStore Limited Edition 17" Dolls Discussion
I wish I could have gotten the cindy le 500....but the disney stores here didn't carry it... and I have one DS 10 min away and 3 more less than 30 mins away...It is easy to get LE dolls in california, but not when they don't carry it :-(

It's kind of hard to gauge the secondary market value of the slipper. It seems to go for anywhere between $500 and $1500. I'm not sure it would be easy to get sq Elsa for it. She's a really popular doll from a really popular movie and dolls aren't really equal trading grounds for other merch IMO. Sq Elsa is a solid $2k doll on the secondary market and I'm sure she'll only climb as she's becoming scarcer an scarcer.

I've found a collector to trade my sq Elsa for her wedding Cindy, but that's a more equal trade.

I sold my pink Aurora but still love the blue one, the sleeping beauty dolls are a lot nicer than the recent Frozen ones though. I wonder who will be next to get the live action doll treatment, maybe Alice? I wish we would have got a live action Aurora and Maleficent.

I'd imagine it'd be Alice, Belle and (possibly) Mulan for the film collection series! I agree with Maleficent dolls. An LE Aurora with her gold dress would've been beautiful!

Yes Aurora in the gold dress would have been stunning! And a Maleficent with the wings would have been nice.
I would have loved a LE maleficent from the Disney store as the only one we got was the IMO crappy jacks pacific one. An LE one could have been gorgeous. I am more than happy with my hot toys Angelina maleficent though she's amazing and looks just like Angelina

I agree completely. In my opinion, once the hype of Cinderella calms down I think the prices for the LE wedding doll and glass slipper will come down some. Already starting to see more wedding cinderellas on eBay. People listing wedding ones for 2K and up will probably be sitting for a while.

Yeah I think the temptation was too high on such a turnaround. I think even a lot of people who bought the doll to collect realized they liked an instant $1500 profit more than the doll itself. I for one was not expecting her to climb so quickly. I'm not sure if her price will drop since she's so limited. I know there's a lot of panic purchasing with some new releases, so I'm curious to see where Cinderella will settle. I just know I won't risk not buying such a rare doll in the future lol. Curse that movie for being so wonderful!!!!

I actually think the opposite for the wedding LE doll (original retail $500) versus the slipper (original retail was $100?) Because you can actually buy one made of crystal (versus resin) at Swarovski for the same price that the resin slipper is going for. So who wouldn't do that instead?

I am sure that there are more than 500 collectors out there that have to have every single LE doll that Disney makes. Assuming that only 250 (half the stock) got them and the other half (250) went to resellers, there is still less of a supply than demand.

I love the large one(very pricey though) but would rather have the small one than the resin one atleast its swarovski and pretty. Wouldn't pay ebay prices for a resin version, imo wouldn't pay much over retail for it but then lots of people will because it's LE 500

Even though I wasn't crazy about the Maleficent movie, I agree. If they start releasing live-action LEs on a regular basis (which I am 100 percent sure they are going to do from now on -- Disney has gone live-action crazy, it seems) it will be a shame that Aurora and Maleficent will be missing from the LE collection.

If the ridiculously pointless release of this past March's Frozen dolls has taught us anything it's that there is no longer a rhyme or reason with Disney releasing these dolls. Everyone was expecting new Frozen dolls....just not the ones we got. They set a precedent that Disney can release any doll in any outfit at any time. So, while the likelihood of getting Live Action Aurora or Maleficent isn't super high since the films theatrical and home media release is long passed, there's a chance, however small, that they could release them to celebrate an anniversary of the film (5th would probably be the absolute earliest) when they have no other dolls to release in a certain time frame.

Which brings me to something I've been thinking about and HOPING for, but probably will not happen: This June marks the 20th Anniversary of Pocahontas. How great would it be to get LE 17" Pocahontas and John Smith (separately) to celebrate the film's 20th Anniversary?? I know Pocahontas and Mulan are the two princesses left out the most BUT they are still part of the official line up and they both still appear on quite a bit of Disney Princess merchandise at the Disney Store, plus have their own adorable Animators dolls and other playline dolls. They always get costumes at Halloween. It just feels so wrong not having them in 17" LE form. Sadly, I think the biggest hurdle to that is that their Designer Couple's dolls are basically 12" versions of what I picture 17" versions looking like, with very little change (especially for Pocahontas, who has an outfit that's pretty difficult to spruce up and make it look like a $120 doll) but then they did it with Rapunzel and her Designer outfit is super similar to her 17" outfit. I suspect 17" Jasmine will also be similar to her Couple look.

Basically what I'm saying is NOW IS THE PERFECT TIME FOR A 17" POCAHONTAS (and John Smith) GIVE THEM TO US DISNEY WHAAAAAAA.

This is my first LE Disney doll (Live action Cinderella). I love this doll. She's very pretty but my mom doesn't like her. Every man to his taste.

I hope they will make pocahontas but i have no hope :( the only one i think will come out is jasmine. such a shame but i totally agree! i hope they just give jasmine pants and not a dress :(

I think they might just release a 17inch pocahontas but with a very low LE size just to ensure she sells out like the rest. I think they will only release her when they don't have any other doll lined up (potentially at the end of all the live action releases??.) but then again they may just surprise us with an in-between live action release just to fill in the gaps.

Disney have made 17inch versions of all the really popular animated princesses, they will want to milk it for all its worth and potentially concentrate on the live actions one with a couple of low LEs of the ones that are seen as less popular.

They probably have a whole schedule of doll releases to fill the next 3 years. I agree, disney know they are onto a winner with these 17inch dolls, they will bring out as many as they can, so an aurora and maleficent doll is possible, maybe to mark an anniversary of the live action movie release?

My predictions:
This year:
frozen fever 17inch anna and else
aladdin and jasmine
Possibly fairy god mother (low LE?) for the live action cinderella release on Dvd (as the movie has been so popular)
possible pocahontas (low LE)

Future:
Alice live action and possible queen of heart live action
mulan live action
moana
Beauty and the beast live action- belle 17inch plus a low LE of wedding belle just because disney know they can charge ridiculous amount and we will all lust after her
Aurora -as they have missed the opportunity before

i think the next live action remake to be announced will be aladdin and probably rapunzel both will come with 17inch dolls.and i wouldnt be surprised if they made a disney remake of snow white as the one with KStew wasnt by disney, they may want to stick to the original story and do it more fairytale rather then dark version and with that will come a snow white live action 17inch!! But i think they will wait a few years before they re-make that one.

congrats on your doll, she is beautiful, my mum didnt like cinderella either hehe but i think that was more due to the price of the doll rather then the doll herself, my mum much preferred the regular cinderella/wedding set over the LE version but i love them all

Actually I'm starting to doubt that Disney is going to make 17'' Frozen Fever dolls now. They missed their perfect chance already when they chose not to release them for the premiere of the short film, and I'm more willing to bet they would pick a 17'' Lady Tremaine or a Fairy Godmother to commemorate the DVD/Blu-Ray release for Cinderella over FF Anna and Elsa (given that the short will be a bonus feature on the Cinderella disk, which I believe will happen). The film collection series has been such a huge hit already, even with just two LE dolls, that I don't think we've seen the last of live-action Cinderella dolls just yet. :) I'm personally LOVING my Blue Dress Cinderella and would hate to believe the other characters won't be made eventually.

As for the rest of your predictions, I for one would totally "lust" over any live action Belle granted she is well made and and resembles Emma Watson by even a tiny bit. And I can't wait to hear more about Moana, as I'm sure the movie and inevitable LE doll will be great!

Not sure about a new LE Alice though, since the "classic" Alice still took a lot of inspiration from the 2010 film. And it's possible that they'll do an LE Pocahontas sometime but I honestly doubt it. Yes it will be the 20th anniversary of the film and Pocahontas is a Disney Princess, but with the LE Aladdin dolls and maybe a couple more Cinderella dolls in the mix I'm not confident that they'll consider doing another princess this year (but I'd love to be wrong!). :)

Honestly, the only 17" dolls I see being released this year are Aladdin as Prince Ali, Jasmine in turquoise, Jafar, and Frozen Fever Anna and Elsa. Elsa and Anna would most likely be released with the DVD of Cinderella or whatever DVD the short will be included on, but I think it was really shiesty of Disney to not release the Frozen Fever dolls to commemorate the premier of the short. and yes, I am aware that Disney is milking these Frozen dolls to the last possible opportunity, but still.

As for the next couple years I expect Moanna and Film Collection Belle, Alice, and Mulan. I think the ship has sailed on any Maleficent dolls unfortunately. :/
As for the Pinocchio Diamond Edition, I hope they release an LE Pinocchio marionette!

Sad that we won't get a film collection but I'm happy to have the hot toys Maleficent which is better than what the disney store would do anyway lol.
I too hope Jasmine is in pants and not a dress!

I completely agree with this the Hot toys Angelina Maleficent is amazing and looks just like Angelina much better than any thing disney store would do lol. I am looking forward to Jasmine and hope she is not in a dress but pants.
