DisneyStore Limited Edition 17" Dolls Discussion
I personally don't think that this is the end of the doll madness. I feel as if there shall be a Surprise Purple Dress Jasmine for those who didn't get Teal Garb Jasmine and couldn't reach Red Garb Jasmine.

Peter, Hook, Hag, Leia and the ONCE Dolls are a GREAT start to branching out with obscure characters.

Frozen Fever Anna and Elsa were obvious but at the same time out of the blue. I'm going to try for Elsa but am not sure about Anna.

Anna and Kristoff are sweet surprise and how funny would it have been to have the wide release Frozen set be an ANNA/HANS set.

SIGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Im so over frozen!!!!!! BUT I love love love loveeeeee those fever dolls! Im a completest so I'd get them anyway but I simply adore them especially anna! The only doll that really burns my toast is that red jasmine. Im glad the box is the exact same and the dress is strikingly similar so I don't need to worry about getting her. This is the biggest doll year yet it seems. Im not worried from a financial perspective but its the stress of waiting in line and going online that kills me nerves. I need to get used to the thrill of the hunt.

Reveals/Exclusives thoughts:

Red Jasmine: Red Jasmine is the reason why I complain about Disney. I know someone in the Heroes VS Villains said that people complain too much. But that person needs to understand that we went from Dolls like Snow White to the general release of Jasmine. What used to be normal and sold for $99.99 (I think Snow White originally was $60) is now considered to be Exclusive worthy and limited to 500 or 100 and sold for $500. That's why I complain. You can't seriously tell me that the embroidery on the top part of her skirt and the dangling gems and stuff don't belong on the $119.99 version of the doll.... It's sad to see Disney treat their fans this way... But we can't change corporate culture.

Frozen Fever Elsa: Perfect in Every way.... With the exception of the hair being too long and the background they choose for her. I just think it's too much. They should have gone with something more plain. Like the SQ elsa one. Also, I refuse to believe that these are the dolls that we will get because they look way way way too detailed for a general release. Expect this specific Elsa to be Harrods exclusive with a less elaborate one released on the general public.

Frozen Fever Anna: As a doll, she's kinda perfect. They fixed the problems that people had with her hair when they released the coronation one. The detailing on the dress looks great, but I just wish they only used metallic thread on the embroidery and not on the skirt. The plain color of the skirt just pops too much when it should be the embroidery. I think the little house/clock is absolutely ridiculous. If you are going to give her a gift, give her all of them. The house just looks way too weird!

Surprised that these were LE5000, you'd think they'd up the numbers a bit since it's frozen. Oh well.

Princess Leia: Bad PR for Disney.... Never release Leia merchandise and when you do, it's D23 exclusive! Good luck to people who are trying to get her.

agree why they wouldnt make the frozen fever in at least 7 if not even 10 thousand , they will sell out no matter what really. and then red jasmine only 500 is insane they could have at least done 3 thousand for her. as ive seen more people wanting her in red more than standard. Disney honestly could have gotten more money that way.

This is my wallet/bank account right now:

Me too. I must have them to complete my Frozen collection.

Lol. I was soo unimpressed with Aladdin and Jafar that I forgot they were revealed!

Aladdin: Um... Not sure what they were going for. It was pretty obvious that they had to go with the Prince Ali outfit... But I guess they didn't! But not only that, but He just looks weird! I was kind of expecting something like either the Pin or the King of Thieves outfit. He just looks weird in that box! Especially since he's the only character that's facing side ways! Let's start from the top. Abu is a nice touch... but looks like a re-packaging of the one in the doll set that was released this year. His hair is completely messed up. I wonder why Disney just can't get the men's hair right! His face mold is absolutely positively horrible! Why abandon the really detailed 12" model that is being used right now and use what is clearly the nose that Phillip had! They couldn't even get the nose right, which is what Aladdin is distinctly known for, feature wise. A perfect example of how to do an Aladdin doll is the DFDC doll. His outfit looks kinda plain.. But I'm gonna give him the benefit of the doubt and wait till we see better pictures, but for now, I am not impressed, and this is certainly not worthy of $119.99... Especially when a 12" doll has more details that this large one.

Jafar: Now with Jafar, I couldn't really make out what was going on. On one hand, we have a weird looking iago plush, on the other hand we have the amazingly detailed staff. On one hand we have an interesting box design, but on the other hand his box is red. On one hand he has an amazing sculpt for his hands, but on the other, he doesn't have actual hair (especially the mustache and beard).... But his outfit looks way way way too plain to be in this series, so I'm assuming he has hidden features in it, but so far, this looks like someone just enlarged the classic doll and added the staff along with iago.

Okay, so Leia is LE 450 and a 12" so it can't be more than $100 retail... I'm guessing we will be getting a doll of her in DS pretty soon, just not as decked out. We already have her outfit that I saw the other day. It makes me happy that they're expanding to the women in SW (no matter how few there are).

WOOOOWWW!!!! SO much, catching up. WELLLLL.... I have to have the FF dolls, no doubt! Now I have to think about the rest :/ Oh man do I need to save and get a job.

Glad im not the only one who didn't like Ali!lol the glam-ed up street rat outfit is just.. weird and ironic to say the last. Something about his expression creeps me out too.

Im holding off judgments for Jafar until I see him in person. :) but I love the fact that they included the staff already.

I truly wish you're wrong about FF with the display ones being Harrods. :( we've already went through that with Aurora and I'm really really hoping disney won't false advertise again. I was very if-y on Elsa's spring costume as they don't look too impressive on the classic dolls but they really did a wonderful job with the LE ones. I even want LE Anna when I didn't like her outfit in both the short and especially the classic dolls!

For me personally, I don't think the le numbers for dolls should be raised. I know raising the edition size for dolls would be good, but for me it kind of loses the same special quality to it. This is how I feel personally and I know others feel different about it, but for me one of the things I like about these dolls is that they are limited and not very easy to find, and for me, it makes the doll feel more special to me personally, of course I just love the details and work that goes through these doll, but I think the edition number does add a bit of specialness. That's one of the reasons I don't collect classic dolls, yes they are pretty but they're just too common, and they are changed every year so you feel the need to buy the better new version. Ok rant over lol! I got hyper seeing all these new dolls, especially the frozen fever Elsa!

omg all these dolls look AMAZING! I need a job so i can afford them :( I'm thinking of getting Anna & Elsa Frozen Fever dolls!

That preorder states that if the person isn't able to get the doll then they'll cancel the order.

As for the $500, someone here said that that it would cost that much so I was just confirming. It might still be $119.95

NUMBER CRUNCHING TIME. Prepare to cry!

This is for anyone who plans to collect all the dolls, which, SIGH, I do.

All prices are in Canadian dollars with the tax rate I pay in my province (12%)

SO first we have the 5 piece Heroes vs. Villains Fairytale Set. They'll be $139.95 each or $156.74 with tax.

September 29th: Snow and the Witch - $156.74, a cheap day!
October 6th: Peter Pan and Hook - $156.74 BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE. This is also a Tsum Tsum Tuesday, which I also collect. I don't know the series they plan to release this day, so have no idea how big the set will be. Actually, that would be the perfect day to release the Peter Pan set but for some reason that's the November set? I suppose there's a possibility that Disney Store might move that set to this day to go with the doll's set release so I'm just going to go with 10 Tsums being released this day. Tsums Tsums are $5.95 Canadian, x 10 + the tax is another $66.64...except I always go for two sets *cringe*. Total for this day - $290.02 unless the Tsum Tsum set is not Peter Pan and is therefore smaller (HOPEFULLY)
October 13th: Rapunzel and Gothel AND Aladdin AND Jafar AND picking up Jasmine. Thankfully Jasmine is already paid for. Spread out the pain.... $156.74 + 145.54 + 145.54 = $447.82 for this day. WHY DISNEY WHY
October 20th: Ariel and Ursula AND NOTHING ELSE - $156.74 (this price is looking like a steal!)
October 27th: Elsa and Hans AND ALSO NOTHING ELSE - $156.74 yay

November 3rd: Potentially the worst of them all...
17" Frozen Fever Elsa - $145.54
17" Frozen Fever Anna - $145.54
Anna and Kristoff set - $156.74
Peter Pan Tsum Tsum sets (if they don't bump the release up to October) - $133.28
Olaf Tsum Tsum carry bag - I don't even know how much these are in Canada. I think around $40 so I'll go with that, with tax - $44.80
GRAND TOTAL $625.90 FOR ONE DAY LOLOLOL

I should just sign my paychecks over to Disney Store!

Adding everything up, over the course of those six weeks, the grand total will be.....

$1,833.96 AND THAT'S NOT EVEN TAKING THE AFTERMARKET PRICES FOR RED JASMINE AND THE OTHER ELSA/HANS INTO ACCOUNT OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG

I think I'm gonna join staykawaii in becoming a stripper.
