DisneyStore Limited Edition 17" Dolls Discussion
Amm, your store was really organised for the Cinderella dolls. Maybe you can call them and let them know you're concerned that the same thig will happen with Nov 3rd as with Jasmine? And that you're wondering why they deviated from the normal procedure? Maybe it wasn't supposed to happen that way and they can be prepared for Nov 3....

So how will the line work with tsums and dolls? Like do those in line for dolls get first picks at tsums or? I'm so worried about going in store for frozen fever, but my store reopens October 10th so hopefully not many people realize it's open, hehe. ^__^

Yeah, most of us regulars were surprised by how they handled it because the store is typically super-organized. I think part of the problem was that the usual manager wasn't there. I'm hoping it was just a one-off and they'll be better prepared next time, but I might call the store the night before the release.

If you get a number for the doll first, you should be able to go for the tsums and then get the doll afterwards as the number guarantees you a doll. You just won't have first pick. The tsum tsums seem to be a free-for-all -- no one ever makes a line for the tsums at my store, unless they've changed procedure since the last time I went in-store.

I'm worried because our dolls in the UK are released instore and online the SAME day. That's why I'm trying to see if it's worth going to my local store but if I do that I won't be able to try and get them online because I'll have a crap internet connection.

I don't know why they just don't do dolls instore Monday then online Tuesday it would be so much less stressful!

I I just have a fear of not getting to my store early enough and missing out both instore and online.

It it was bad enough for the 2011 Designer dolls and here we have numerous dolls, tsum tsum and probably pins being sold on that date. How the website will cope I do not know!

I hope this is not a dumb question, so forgive my ignorance: Why are people lining up for the tsumtsums on release day? Are they limited editions as well and can't you get any on the next day? I'm a bit confused, as in the EU Disney Store the collections are always available for quite a while...?
Am I missing something there?

In the US the Tsum Tsums are usually gone within a couple of days in the stores and within just a few hours online. I'm not sure whether it is because Disney doesn't make enough of them or that they make a decent amount that sells out instantly anyway because of all the collectors (and the scalpers) on the market, but the stores can get pretty crazy the mornings they are released. :) I'm glad they're available longer in the EU.

Thank you, I didn't know that! That's though...we've had them available for months and some collections which were out (Ariel) even came back a few weeks ago.

The snowflake necklace is really pretty! Is that how much it retailed for at D23? What do you think of the quality, worth it?

The earrings were $150 and the necklace was $130. Sterling silver with Swarovski crystals. They are very pretty. I was going to say they seemed like good quality, but I just went to look at them and realized one of the crystals has fallen off an earring. It is still in the box. Kind of annoying because I haven't even worn them yet. :( I don't know, maybe I can get someone to repair it.

I'm a sure a good jeweler would be able to repair it. Considering Swarovski had a hand in making it, it's most likely just a fluke that the crystal came off. Their quality is usually extremely good.

Yeah, I'm thinking it should be an easy fix--- I'm just bummed that I now have to pay someone to repair it when I haven't even had a chance to wear them. I don't think Swarovski made it --I think they just supplied the crystals. :( Thank goodness it fell out in the box though ...Only now I'm going to be worried the other crystals will fall out. They are very tiny. The earrings are soooo pretty though and one of my favorite items from the expo.

I'm sorry to hear! I was hoping the quality would be nice for the price and that they were in silver instead of some sort of base metal.

amm3, try jewelry glue. One of my other hobbies is dabbling in minerals/gems/jewelry. I have a glue called "Hot Stuff, - Super T." It is cyanoacrylate. And as I found out, it does NOT work on gluing rhinestones to doll dress fabric - it bleeds :(. However, it works great on securing a jewel to a metal backing. Just apply a very small dab to the back center of the crystal and stick it firmly in place.

Thanks for the tip! :)

I don't know if this has been covered already and I've just forgotten, but does anyone know what's coming out of the vault next year? Just wondering about doll possibilities for 2016.

All these doll releases and I'm already thinking about what we might get next year! LOL. :D

Haha, you are not the only one! I am trying to pace myself for November but it is hard not to think about next year with such a long wait!

The Pinocchio Diamond Edition has been confirmed for sometime in 2016 (probably February) and then it's a mystery. I read a rumor somewhere that Snow White was coming out in the fall as the first of a new line of re-releases, but of course Disney hasn't made any announcements about it yet. :) I missed my chance for the 17'' Snow White though, so I would love it if they made a different version of her!

If they release another Snow White doll I am so going to get it! Even though I said that I only have room for three dolls, Snow White is an exception!

If Pinocchio's coming out, I'd kill for the Blue Fairy in 17" glory. Omg… she could be SO beautiful! I love the classic girls~<3

Yeah, Swarovski tends to just make the crystals. They are known for being such high quality because of the patented cut they do. I used to be really into jewelry making and now only do it rarely (I don't have a kiln for involved projects, nor much time for beading simple projects).

It's such a shame that happened. You'd think that shouldn't happen for the price. Are the crystals set in, or glued/soldered in? If they are set, you might be able to find a jeweler willing to tighten them for free and reset the loose one, or a small fee. A lot will do it for free as good customer service. I have a diamond ring with a lot of smaller diamonds that belonged to my grandmother and I get the stone settings tightened periodically. My grandfather told me one of the stones fell out when he got it for her (a 50th wedding anniversary present, so very sentimental to me), so I promised to make sure I'd take care of it and get them tightened. The stones are fairly small but very good quality, so I really don't want to have to replace any. I had a local jeweler that used to do it for free, but I've been to some chain stores that do it as well. If they're glued in place, I agree with Elphaba, and recommend just getting some good quality jewelry glue and doing it yourself. Tweezers and something with a fine point for the glue should be all the other stuff you need.

I agree. I really hope they do a Blue Fairy. Tonner did one years ago and I've tried getting on Ebay, but it always goes out of my price range. It's a very lovely doll, though.

Thanks, I think they may actually be set in because there is an indentation/empty hole where the crystal should be..(??????).... I honestly can't say I'd know the difference though. I'm probably just going to take it to a jeweler anyway because the crystal is so tiny I would most likely lose it trying to handle it or else make a complete mess of it, but I appreciate everyone's help! :)

(And I think that's so cool you know how to make jewelry btw! I am always impressed as there seem to be so many crafty/artistic people on here.)

I honestly think if they could do a Blue Fairy and do it right, this would be my ultimate dream doll. I watched Pinocchio not too long ago and the animation of that character is just so beautiful.

And I would love another Snow White version and a 17" Evil Queen. If they did those three dolls, I think I could end my doll collecting career right there. LOL.

I honestly can't find a reason why Disney won't make another Snow White doll. If they can do it with frozen, they can do it with Snow White. I'm guessing if they do make her again, then she will probably have the 17in singing doll face with longer eyelashes, and a more accurate dress covered in embroidery and rhinestones. These dolls are a cash cow for Disney, so why wouldn't they continue the line.
