DisneyStore Limited Edition 17" Dolls Discussion
My tracking number for Elsa is finally up and running on UPS! I received the blast-off email on Saturday, but I guess the order wasn't actually processed until this morning.
I hope everyone still waiting for their tracking numbers will get them as well!
The LE orders take longer to get mailed out because they have to go through every one to make sure no one ordered doubles, they also have to fill thousand of orders at once for one product. Also Amazon has spoiled everyone
Saturday isn't considered a business day for UPS when items ship ground. Same with Fed-Ex. So if you miss the cut-off time on Friday for either, they won't show up until Monday to pick up items shipped ground.
Again....
I have made other orders after the frozen fever dolls and all have shipped.
Also; do you seriously think that Disney has an employee sitting there going through each record one by one? They use an automated system to check multiple orders, they also use an automated system to send address to the warehouse, print the labels, stick them on boxes and finally be dropped in a crate.
This process requires minimal human work. And this has nothing to do with Amazon. It's Disneystore being a chaotic company that stupidly decided to release over 10,000 limited edition dolls a day before they opened their biggest sale of the year.
My frustration comes from having 4 orders placed after Wednesday and all shipped and in transit, while the frozen fever Anna doll still hasn't shipped.

I think I'm in the minority because I was actually excited to get Regal Elsa. I don't know why but I liked that outfit in the movie and it's such an iconic scene for her too... it really reinforces how alone she feels when the room ices up around her.
My dolls finally updated and says they should arrive to my shipper on Wednesday. I really hope nothing happens to them!
After seeing the comparison pics I think I definitely prefer FF Elsa, she just is overall pretty and I love that her braid gets that bit thinner at the end (SQ braid always bothered me the more I looked at it!)
Can't wait to see a deboxer collector put FF Anna in Coronation Anna's dress!

Frozen_Jane I really like Regal Elsa too. I believe she is the only one with the aurora borealis finish on her face, which is really pretty and suits her character so well and goes perfectly with the purple sky in the windows in her background. The outfit is also, IMO, reflective of her story/personality as she really took her duty become a responsible queen seriously and believing that she had to restrict herself to do so (trying to do the impossible and even succeeding for a while). She really looks like the model of regal restraint, especially knowing she is only supposed to be a young teen at that point and soon to have losing her parents added to her burden - ever since her parents misunderstood how to deal with her gift, she had to grow up quickly, and this outfit represents that well. A tough time in her life where she has to push herself hard and I think many of us have to go through some times like that. "With great power comes great responsibility" and Elsa is determined not to let her people down, she pushes herself to control herself for others' sake. Her outfit is also quite detailed and seems especially realistic for a Nordic royal. She reminds me of real members of royalty, and inspires me to dig for willpower. And, of course we know the future for her, so it gives optimism during those harder times The LE doll is also the only way to get her in this outfit in any form, AFAIK, so for a major Elsa enthusiast like me, that is a plus as well.
She does look great with the FF Elsa because it's like reflecting the two sides of her. I have several issues with the FF short, but the look itself is very reminiscent of the SQ look - and that's what I choose to focus on - the sensuous flowy gown is reflecting her being comfortable with her true, magical nature, literally "letting her hair down" and feeling she can move freely, ice powers and all. More of a magical Elsa than regal Elsa, and still the Queen. A capable leader who is also comfortable with herself. It is the happy ending I was rooting for. But if she didn't go through her earlier phase, I wouldn't have been rooting so hard. I think more than any other character, Elsa's struggles are a very important part of who she is. I find her to be the most realistically complex Disney heroine yet. (And if Frozen 2 ruins all that I am going to ignore it pointedly!)

I'm with you... I was disappointed in the promo pics when I first saw them. I didn't like the look of the material and it seemed a bit dark. In person though, I feel in love with the regal set. I think the dolls are very well done. I even like the shiny skin and tinsel in the hair (still don't like the shiny skin on Cinderella). I think the shiny skin is fitting on this set as it reminds me of moonlight hitting snow, or the aurora borealis effect. I like to see them do something a bit different and surprising with the dolls. I wouldn't pick Regal Elsa over the other Elsa dolls, but it is still a really beautiful doll. I think Anna is the better one between these two releases, but wouldn't want to part with either one. I like the Anna better than the one in the snow gear, even if the snow gear is more the iconic look.
It seems a lot of people want the iconic look all the time. I like to have the icon look, but it's been done. I don't know... I often feel the minority with the dolls. I guess it depends on why you collect. I like dolls in general and look at them as the doll first and character second. I love everything about Ariel too. She's what got me into collecting these dolls. It seems most the complaints are with the fact she doesn't look enough like the movie, but I love her look. I even really like the tail. That's one of the first things I noticed. I've never seen one done like that. It was so creative and lovely. I'd like to see them get more creative with the Frozen dolls. There's an appeal in having something that looks right out of the movie, but I like to be surprised too. They've kept the Frozen dolls more true to the movie than any others. The only thing they really went out of the box on was the skin tone on the regal set.
