DisneyStore Limited Edition 17" Dolls Discussion
So when will the LE LA Alice dolls be released, approximately?

No line up at our Disney store, only 8 dolls. It looked like they still had 3. Hope everyone who wanted her got one. I waited in line x2 days at D23 and couldn't get Minnie then. She's different but just as cute as the D23 one.

She actually sold out on the first day!? Wow...I really didn't expect that considering how no one really seemed to want her! But as to be expected, the stock pictures don't even come close to doing her justice and she turned out REALLY nice. Congrats to those who got her!

She sold out quickly!

Maybe it's that she appeals more to a different type of Disney collector than to many of us here who are mostly interested in dolls of the more human-looking Disney characters. Personally I've never been that into Mickey and Minnie (Minnie in particular I found too unempowered for my generation - that short, "Get a Horse" they did before Frozen? :|), but I always knew Mickey was the iconic symbol of Disney, and Minnie's been around a long time and has got a lot in common with Hello Kitty, so I wouldn't be surprised if there were people who were particularly focused on them (or even just her) specifically.

There are tons of people that focus their entire collections around Mickey and Minnie or just one of the two. They are both really popular, but even still I never in a million years would have expected her to sell out day one. There was so little discussion on her that I expected her to be on the website for at least one or two weeks. Guess we underestimated big time on this one!

I admit that Minnie does look better in other photos that I've seen. Although she isn't my cup of tea, but it would make a nice gift for someone who like Mickey/Minnie

Same for mine! My store got 6 dolls in and I was the only one there to pick her up. By 3pm only 3 of the dolls were sold, mine and the dolls two of my collector friends went up and purchased. They had actually ordered online already, but prefer picking out their own in person so they chose to cancel the orders and just get her in store after I told them 5 were still up for grabs. Personally I think the 20ish degree temperatures and her being available online well before the Disney Store opened might have had something to do with the low turnout, but I still expected other to show up after the mall opened. Poor Minnie! :-(

Minnie is now sold out in Europe too! (at least where I checked! On the british, french and italian online store)
I really didn't expected it at all, I'm very happy too =) This will probably encourage Disney to make more non-princess LE dolls!

So it really doesn't look like we'll be getting any dolls for the Snow White release, does it? :(

It's sadly starting to look that way...such as shame :(. This could have been the perfect opportunity to at least give us an Evil Queen doll. I can't help but feel that we would have gotten Snow White dolls if the diamond edition for Pinocchio came out next week like they originally planned followed by the Snow White signature collection Blu-ray in the fall.

I've completely given up hope for a Snow White doll, but I heard that it was supposed to be Pinocchio with the dvd release instead of Snow White. So I guess Snow White was a last minute thing. But there is hope that she could be released randomly along with other merchandise.

There is a possibility that a secret Harrods or Platinum set could appear like it happened in the past, I would hope so but at the same time I would also prefer to just get the normal 17" LE, with the usual price and also not a few pieces like they usually do for the harrods/platinum sets.

That's true, but it doesn't make sense for them to make a harrods set, without making at least a "general" Le release for the movie. And besides, many people would be pissed since if they did make a harrods set, it would be like what, 500$? I forget, and Le of 100. It's possible, but very unfair. It would be understandable if they released regular Le dolls, and then the harrods set.

I don't think there will be a snow white doll because no other merchandise for Snow White have been released. Usually when a diamond edition is released, they would release a slew of merchandise to go with the blu-ray, however, we have not gotten any snow white merchandise.

Yeah :( it's really sad tho, they would have sold out everything in hours, maybe minutes, people would have been so happy. So, why release this new Snow White Signature Edition without some merch or LE Dolls? I don't get it, especially given the rumors of LE Dolls for the fall release of Beauty and the Beast, it really doesn't make any sense.

Ok, I've lost hope 100% for a new Snow White doll. It's a shame that Disney isn't at least putting new merchandise for the one that started it all.

In a way I'm a little relieved(spent some of my doll money, I have no sales resistance). Since this dvd release was a last minute thing, maybe they'll have a special edition dvd or something with a doll release

Random question for you guys:

I was just looking at a couple of my dolls' COAs and noticed that the information is also in French on the back. I'm in Canada so this isn't really surprising but then I started thinking about how The Walt Disney Company is an American company so most of their signage and merch has things written in English and Spanish. In Canada, products legally have to feature information in both English and French. Could it be that there are special LE dolls with English/French COAs designated for Canada? Or are all COAs in English and French?

Nothing really pressing but I was curious. ^^;

I had assumed they were the same, but I had to check. LOL I just checked my heirloom FF Anna... mine is in french as well. The plastic bag warning is English, French and Spanish. French is pretty common on a lot of US merch, although not at common as Spanish.

I haven't completely given up hope for a 17" Evil Queen. I can't see it happening this year (clearly), but maybe for a major anniversary of the movie. Next year is the 70th and a D23 year. I think it's a long shot, and if it doesn't happen, I'll be holding out for the 75th anniversary (like the dollaholic I am). Thoughts?

Also, I was wondering... Does anyone buy dups for your collection? I have a few dolls that I've done that with, but they aren't usually LE dolls and not normally expensive. If I have a doll I really like and want to debox, I'll on occasion buy one to keep it nice in the box, or buy a used version for display. I try not to that because it's less money for new dolls, and I don't have the space for it. Still, I'm having a really hard time not buying a dups on the FF dolls as I've been seeing them go for well below $200 on Ebay for over a month. I have dups on heirloom Maleficent and pink Sleeping Beauty as I couldn't pass them up at below retail on Ebay, and my original Mal has a paint defect on her chest, and the first pink SB has a damaged box.

So I dunno how many of you seen this or not, but the Disney Limited Edition Dolls Tumblr page stated that she was talking to a cast member today and they told her about an upcoming release that we should be very excited about. Whatever this doll is, she believes that it will be released near the end of March to early April. She also did confirm that the next wave of designer dolls WILL be a continuation of the Heroes vs Villains line.

Considering that this doll might be released near the end of March to early April, that makes me believe that it MIGHT be a doll of Rey from Star Wars The Force Awakens. The release date for the Force Awakens was leaked to be early April on Blu-ray with a digital release in late March. Some people are predicting that its going to be the Alice dolls, but its way too early for those to be revealed and released. We shouldn't hear anything about them till the end of April or the first week of May. I REALLY hope it turns out to be Rey!

What are you all's thoughts on this? Any predictions?

EDIT: Its also been confirmed that they aren't Frozen related (thank god lol).
