Has this happened to you - missing package??
We live in an apartment complex.
Not sure how the package could be mis-delivered, unless it was just placed in the wrong "mail box" as none of the apartment numbers are identical.

Yep, that is what I mean, mis-delivered to the wrong box. The mail carriers are human after all. (S)he might have stuck it into the wrong mailbox while thinking of his dinner for that night, lol! Either way, he must have scanned it before delivering if the DC# shows delivered. I think he was absent minded and just not willing to accept it. Maybe you can print out the whole tracking info/history and take it down to your PO.

Bets of luck and please let us know how it turns out.

Hi, I'm sure it will be Monday before anything else can be done but keep checking and calling them Monday - the mailman may have had a dyslexic moment or else another mailman delivered it to a wrong address - it does happen. Does your mail usually arrive so late in the afternoon (4pm+)? If you contact them enough and ask them to run a scan, they can find out more maybe. sorry this has happened and sorry it is the weekend and you both have to wait.

This is a very bad situation. It happened to me one with a pin I purchased off eBay. I paid $60 for this pin and the DC said delivered yet I had no pin. I filed a claim but lost because the tracking said delivered. I lost my $60 and the pin never did turn up. :(

Oh, sorry to read this Erica, that is terrible. And you know, a similar thing happened to me too once. I have checked on-line and the pin showed up as "delivered" , but I had no pin in my mailbox. I was very bothered until the next day, but decided to wait few more days. Luckily, it turned up next day. My guess is that the package had fallen into his truck or something and he found it later.

I am so sorry to read that you were out of $60 though :(

Hmm... seems Judy's package isn't the only package that was sent to us that never made it here, but says it was delievered.
Wonder whats going on. :/

OH boy..thats NOt good!!where was the other one coming from? You might have to go to the PO instead of calling with both DC numbers
Judy

OMG!!it was DC?if so maybe you need to go to the PO for it..I have no idea here..this is starting to worry me,as I know it is for you

Yes, it has a DC# and was DC.
I was looking forward to trading often again now that the wedding plannning is pretty much finished and Paul is finally back at work.
But with two missing packages in one week, I am alittle hesitant.

I haven't had this particular problem, but more than once Alice pins I was purchasing here on the boards (only Alice pins, go figure haha) showed they were going everywhere BUT NJ. One went to PR twice before finally being delivered here, and the second time the pin traveled around CA for a while before going to some random state and then being delivered.

I always get nervous when I trade because I'm afraid that my pins won't make it. My mailman though does occasionally deliver our neighbor's mail to us.

I HAVE had this exact situation happen to me about four months ago.

Another DPF member and I set up a trade and it was someone I knew I could trust.

I received his pins and mine showed delivered with a DC number.

He never got them.

I then traded like crazy and then purchased one of the other ones online and met them at D-Land as I happened to be going. I felt responsible for making sure he received the pins, so I replaced the pins at my cost.

The other member told me not to worry about it, but I could not leave it like that.

Hope this helps.

Vicki

I quess we all have some problems with PO and myself included. Sent a box out with DC and it said it was delievered but they never received it so I refunded money because I felt bad and 2 months later they received the box. I receive mail from addresses across town or down the street and take pictures of them now because my PO said that it doesn't happen very often but I beg to differ and plan on showing them just how often it does happen.

One time I sent a package that didn't turn up. The last thing on the DC showed was the Orlando sort facility. The other trader was really nice about waiting to see if it showed up, but after 2 weeks I sent a replacment because I didn't want him to think I was a flake. About 2 months after I sent the pin he wrote to tell me it finally showed up and he returned it. So it all worked out in the end :)

Is there a way for your to have either the postman or your apt complex look in the boxes to see if it was placed in the wrong box? Maybe it is in a box where someone is gone or no one lives there? Just a thought.

I had this happen once to a friend in Florida and they had placed it in the wrong box and the person was gone for a couple of days so the delay in getting it over to the right person. Another thought is you would think based on the time scanned they would know where your postman was delivering at that time and whether is was at your complex???

I asked my postman to check and he was very rude and told me there wasn't a package for me on either day. I tried not to get nasty with him, but I let him know if there wasn't a package then I wanted to know how come it was scanned and said it was delivered. I will have to take this up with the PO tomorrow. As I am very upset about the situation.

He has no right to be rude towards you- you have every reason to be concerned! It's so strange that not one but two dc packages have not shown up.

I am so sorry for you and I really hope they find your packages soon! :(

We recently had a similar situation happen - it was with our Stitch as Gracey and Lilo Haunted Mansion pins.

We were so sad to think that such great pins might be lost in the mail.. but they ended up being delivered. yeah!

In your situation.. it sounds like this is not the first time this has happened.. Definitely, bring this to the attention of the manager at your local post office. We hope that you will get your pins soon. Let us know how it goes..

Hi fellow DPF people,

I need advice with a delicate situation:

Pins were sent, DC# shows package was delivered, yet the other party says that they have not received the package.

This is uncomfortable and bothersome, I would like to know how to deal with this. Do you start by checking at sender's post office, at the receiver's post office, mailman, neighbors ...?

If good ole usps can not find the package, how do you make the situation right? Return the other trader's pins, send replacement pins? Or do you sleep in peace as your pins show sent and delivered and you have done your part?

I would appreciate input and if you can share any past experiences like this (if you have any)

YES, this has happened to me on two occasions. Once for a trade (pinpics), once for a purchase (ebay). Both times, I had to go to the post office with the DC # (and the print out from the USPS website to show that it had been "delivered"). Once, I had to go twice because the girl who handles PO Box deliveries had already left by the time I got there. The post office tracked it down within their own office. It took a while to wait while they were searching but fortunately, they ultimately found it.

Called and got a automated service that gave me the run around, finally spoke with a customer service rep. Was givin number to local anex AGAIN. Called and spoke to someone, who spoke with my postman, who said the pckg was too big for my mailbox and he left it at the front office of our complex.

Really? This guy had no idea what hes saying... I informed them I spoke with postman twice about missing pckgs and that he said there were none for me, yet they were scanned and marked delievered!! I asked neighbors and I have gone to the office, still no pckgs. :-(

I really think this is the new postmans fault. I NEVER had problems with my mail till he started running the route. Now the mail doesn't arrive till about 5pm EVERYDAY and pckgs go missing. I have driven past him at the mailboxes on serveral occasions and EVERY box is open as he puts mail in them, and people are coming and going getting their mail. Who's to say someone didnt take it, or the postman lost it???

I checked the office, they said there weren't any packages in the back for me.
I went to the PO today with printed copies of the DC. They made a copy and left a note for the Anex supervisor. I was told to expect a call sometime tomorrow.
I also called the 1-800 number again, and filed a claim for missing packages. I should hear something in 2 bussiness days reguarding my claim. I hope they find my pckgs.

Just a suggestion. I know that one has to pay for these, but I am wondering if it might be worth your investment to get a PO Box. Would that be a safer bet than a possible "mix up" in an apartment building complex??

At any rate, I certainly hope you get your packages! Good Luck! :)
