Drew some ideas for a Disney Zodiac pin series [fantasy pin drawings]

I had an idea the order night for a Disney Zodiac pin series, so decided to try and draw some rough concept sketches of what I had in mind.

Yeah as a big Hercules fan I was thinking of Nessus, but wanted to only use one character per franchise, and I had Phil in mind for Capricorn.

from Notre-Dame
would be a good pick
for Capricorn.
They use Phil all the time.

Those designs are absolutely gorgeous. I love the use of colors and character placement; absolutely wonderful.

Please don't take this as a criticism, just an inquiry because I want to understand the thought process behind your pin designs: how did you decide which characters would represent each zodiac signs? Were you trying to figure out which character's personality would best represent his/her respective sign? Which character had the best physical representation of the sign? Which character would look best when placed into the pin design itself? A mix of all of the above or something else?

Normally I make sure the characters line up with the symbolism, like with that Disney Villains tarot deck I was working on, it was more based off meaning. For this zodiac one, I just thought it would be fun to draw a set of pins with Lumiere and Sebastian after thinking they would work well for Libra and Cancer in the Zodiac. I haven't drawn those characters before so thought it would be fun to.

At first I was thinking Chip from Beauty and the Beast, but I decided to do one character per franchise and I already but Lumiere in there, so was thinking either the bucket holding brooms from Fantasia or Winnie the Pooh with a honey pot.
