I had somewhat of the same issue where I was just spending crazy money on pins. Due to that I have tried to stay off fb sites and haven't been as active on this forum. I miss everyone here but until I get my finances more in check I am playing they out of sight out of mind game.

Good for you!!! That is a huge accomplishment! I also have problems letting go of certain things, and there has been a lot of good advice on this thread already. But one other thing that helps me pass on items that need to go is thinking of how they may bless others down the line. I'm sure you can picture how excited someone will be to find Disney pins in a thrift store!! Maybe a kid, maybe a newbie collector or someone on a really tight budget.
You can do this! Keep it up! :hsd:

It happens... But you only got 10, not too bad. Maybe you need a monthly budget you're not allowed to go over for pins. Like a $50 budget, limit you to maybe 1-2 pins if you're still compulsively buying.

I'm sorry about your relapse - I know the feeling. I have bipolar disorder and when I'm in a manic state, I have trouble limiting my spending... So much so, that I don't allow myself to own a credit card (because I know I'd be in debt).

Sometimes when I'm in a mania and going overboard on online purchases, I will hand over my laptop and phone to my family for a few hours or days until I feel more in control of myself. (That keeps me off of eBay and other shopping sites!)

Do you live in Southern California? You could try selling your pins at Frank & Son. There are a couple of people I know of that might buy from you.

Make sure you have your pins organized by Open Edition and Limited Edition. You won't get full retail value, but at least you'll get something for what you want to sell off. You could probably get half of what you paid retail.

I think the most important thing is not to give up! This is just one small relapse, it doesn't undo the 600 pins you let go of which is amazing work.

This is me. I really need to start limiting my collections and sell and zap a bunch of pins. I haven't deleted my FB pin groups, but I've been trying to avoid them, although I get tempted. And going to Disneyland last weekend doesn't help curb the pin search. Outside of my lanyards that I wear to the parks, I have my favorite pins in 1 box that I look at every now and then. The rest....are just in the closet.

Pinbum - you're still doing a good job. Keep at it!
