Many people make New Year's Resolutions to cut back on this or that, be good, etc. But I decided to start the year by allowing myself a (tiny, tiny) side collection, ha.
For the past couple years, every time Disney releases a new Snow White doll of any "caliber," I'm filled with overwhelming Wants. Lately, there have been more attractive pins of Snow as well. But I don't collect Snow White! She's never been my favorite princess (that was always historically Aurora, although I really like Rapunzel, too--who doesn't? Ha). And yet ...
I finally decided to just give in and collect a few select Snow items, including some (only a few, I swear!) pins. I'm justifying it because upon reflection, I realized that Snow White does have significance in my family. For one thing, I vividly remember my mom taking me and my cousins to see the movie in theaters when it was rereleased in 1986 or 1987. (I really think it was '86 but logic says it was for the anniversary year of '87.) And while my dad has not been to WDW since I was 10, he still refers to the Witch popping out and croaking, "Want an apple, dearie?" on the late, great Snow White's Scary Adventures ride. Most recently, BF and I spent a magical evening in Manhattan that included a visit to the fabulous Saks Holiday Windows, which this year featured Snow White.
So ... I'm falling off the wagon (or in this case, perhaps, the apple-cart) and adding Snow White to my Wants list.
Who else is starting something new this year? Any changes in or additions to collections?
And for those of you cutting back, please note: I'm here to enable you. If that means supporting you while you put mortgage, family, and sanity above pins--well, if you're on a diet, I'm the one who will yell, "PUT DOWN THAT DONUT; IT'S NOT WORTH THE CALORIES!!!" if that's what you need. Although, let's be real, it's more fun to encourage dreams! Ha.
