Somewhere, someone payed a ridiculous about for that pin and the FB pin community has never let it go. Far be it from be to say what a pin is actually worth. But no, this pin is not worth that. I think it's a case of false inflation.

Again, just my opinion.

Yeah, this is definitely a case of false inflation. It's insane to pay 100+ for an le6000 that came out in the last year. Hopefully that price will come down eventually or you can see if you can find some reasonable person selling it for a reasonable price.

Yes, LE 6000. Wow, I just looked on Ebay and sure enough, people want and have paid (what!) over $100 for that pin. That's insane!

The MF was the first pin of the month in the series, so who knew... which may also be a contributing factor to its current demand. I bought this pin back when it was released, it didn't even sell out that fast, but it is a nice pin and the price Disney charged was very reasonable, so perhaps vacation travelers were attracted to it more (ie, a lot were sold to non-pin traders). Thus... many of the 6000 of this LE pin could be part of vacation memory collections. Just my thought on why an LE 6000 pin would be worth so much. Crazy.

Wish I had bought a second one to trade.

My only point of reference was the 60th anniversary diamond countdown pins. The first one took a while to sell out, but then the series took off and everyone was searching for the first one released and those that had it jacked up the price. It was LE 3000. About a year or so after the last DLR 60th countdown was released, the price came down (from $150-$200) to about $70. So I would imagine the same will happen with the MF pin.

I will say, in its defense, it was released first at the Star Wars 40th Anniversary con/event in Orlando and it was a few weeks until the pin made it to the park. But even then, if lasted for quite a while. I think I picked up over 10 of them...

You still got some lying around somewhere? ;) Run, go check under your couch...

I'm thinking even non pin collector Star Wars fans may be getting them...

I also wonder if some fans are anticipating the Solo movie too. There will be a bit of Falcon pins related to that movie.

Funny thing is this pin was released at the Star Wars Celebration fan convention and no one gave a hoot about the pins at the convention. All the extras ended up at the parks and kind of sat a while too.

Wow. I bought 2 way back, and traded 1. (way back). At those prices selling is tempting.....
No Lynn no! Not to the dark side you go.

Okay crossed my mind too, but I am completing the set, so there is nothing to sell... Nothing to sell... Nothing to sell...

Keep repeating...

My oldest bought the MF when it was released. It was on that trip that I had introduced my kids to pin trading. They each got to buy some and they traded a little. When we went our second time, many months later, the MF was selling for hundreds. We didn’t know that though. He saw a basic Aladdin pin he wanted to trade for and the trader asked him for his MF pin. Another overheard and he offered to go buy him a pin from the store so he could trade for the MF. I felt like wolves were circling, so I told him to hold onto it because he liked it and later told him that people seemed way to anxious to get him to trade it away. Later in the day, we ran into someone who said the MF was going for a lot at auction. I looked it up and that’s when I discovered why I wish we had bought more than one, lol

This is why I hate trading at the epcot tables...............

Gosh, that's awful that people actually try to take advantage of a kid...at least make a decent offer.

As I read this, I started getting that awful feeling in the pit of my stomach. I am so glad you did not trade it away.

Me too. Not just because it would have been an unfair trade, but because he really liked the MF - he was just excited about the opportunity to trade with someone other than a cast member. Now he’s collecting the entire series, which is displayed in his room, and dad just picked up the ghost ship yesterday. I personally have the At-At and Death Star. Wish I had the MF, and X-wing, and tie fighter...
