Irvine is my home store. But both that store, and the one in Santa Ana have told me there is a woman who comes in and buys every single Disney pin they get in stock. Sometimes they can stash a few away, but otherwise she cleans them out. I wish they'd just impose some sort of limit on her and only allow her to buy so many of each style... (they do this for Funko POPs!)
 
These mystery bags appear to be only the last wave of heroines. They had the villains ones at an event a while ago (I got villains spanning a while chronologically at that event so I wanna say it was more than one wave in those). Hoping tomorrow they have mystery bags with previous heroine waves!!

also, not sure if it has been shared here, but someone on FB called D23 and they said new pins are coming out tomorrow; not just leftover clusters! Hopefully that is also true!

I literally just got off the phone with D23 and the (very nice) lady said there is "usually" separate merchandise but "it varies". She most definitely did not give me a definitive answer.

Edit: sorry, pilcrow! This was not me trying to disagree with you! <3 it was just that I literally had hung up the phone after getting the CYA roundabout answers. XD

It's like one of those "Who's the liar?" brainteasers!!! It may be wishful thinking on behalf of all of you (since I'm just a bystander in this), but I would hope that the CM who overstated is telling the truth. If you're vague and wrong, no one will yell. If you offer something specific and are wrong, man, you're getting a poop-ton of Customer Service calls with further complaints. Why open your mouth and "promise" something if you're really not sure? <fingers crossed>

Side note: I will be available to enable you throughout the "WTF, D23?" customer complaint process, should this turn into the almightiest cluster-fluff that Disney has produced to date ... :D

Anyway, here's my purchase to add to the AP sets.

No kidding. I saw comments where someone was told that they split the clusters into today's allotment and tomorrow's allotment, and that today's allotment was now mostly sold out.

Oh haha, no need to apologize! I wasn’t the one who called; I was just sharing FB info. I feel like they wouldn’t hold this event with all the hubbub then NOT have anything for the D23 people but I also don’t exactly trust Disney on this type of thing so I wouldn’t be surprised either way! I’m hopeful though because I flew to Florida just for this event ;_;

And now I am seeing the mystery bag profiles today look like they are from the first AND last wave but nothing in the middle???

With the villains, they were one per bag and I think were “held back” (that is, kept specifically for this purpose.)
