I understand wanting your set to look great, I do, but I don't think you're going to find one that is 100% perfect, no matter where you look. Maybe I'm not picky enough, who knows...best of luck to you though!Well my other half has contacted me and said they tried to pawn him off with the one on display as they only had one out. When trying to back the second one this afternoon. He said no and they brought out about 5 or 6 going back to the stock room more than once . He said they were not happy about doing it which made the situation worse. Anyhow after looking through them all and even he is not obsessive as me said nearly everyone had messy hair loose stitching and which would I prefer out of the two I can live with. So I said asking as long is the hair is fine. So he picked one out of the two he thought was best! Now I stressing until I get home hoping its a good pick .
The 2011 Designer Snow White doll was also LE 6000. She sold out at record speed back then, because there was an apparent glitch in the online ordering system that did not limit the number of dolls per order as it should have been (it was limit 2 dolls per order at that time). So, yeah, a lot of sharks seem to have gobbled up a lot of the Designer Snow White dolls, which is reflective in her still relatively-low reselling price on ebay. A few factors that may have affected DFDC Snow White & The Prince's non-instant sell-out probably include: DFDC Snow White's braid does not appeal to the consumer, More people may be after the D23 Expo exclusive version, The price of the doll, among other reasons. I consider a sell out in two weeks to still be very successful for a higher-priced collectible at LE 6000. The retail stores still having stock in the USA may be due to bad projections of the target consumers in any given area or just that the remaining dolls may have glaring quality issues (and there seems to be quite a few of those out there).
As for the new location having 17" LE Ariel doll pre-orders, there may have been online order cancellations since the online sell-out, which opens the opportunity for there to be an allocation of dolls to that site. Also, I am sure that even when DS.com "sells out" they still keep some stock back to deal with quality control complaints (re: 17" LE Cinderella's shoes-DS customer service often offered a doll swap first for reported dolls with stained shoes even though 17" LE Cinderella was technically sold out).
Your pictures are fantastice, pupuce!Rose_Valentine did get my message and has one in hand! Thank you so much!
Actually on Snow White you could only do 2 per order not household/person so people placed multiple orders of 2 over and over again that's why they changed the rules for the next 5 dolls.

I think the set would have looked amazing with Belle in an embellished embroidered version of the rose dress she wears in the snow and sits next to Beast in during a fireplace scene. It would have really looked amazing. Ariel didn't get placed in her ballgown, so Belle didn't have to be either. Although I guess you can argue that Ariel's blue dress is more recognizable than Belle's rose dress (or green library dress). I am glad they did not make a fancy version of Belle's blue dress because most of the time she is with Beast and doing happy things together with him, she is wearing either the rose, green, or gold dress.
Exactly!! I just don't think the Belle doll looks special enough like the others do.
I'm probably in the minority too, but I think the Princes all look very handsome, and I almost wish they would have had Beast in his human Prince form instead of that weird molded face.
Does anyone know if the journals are limited edition also? Because I asked a cast member at my store, and she said they were. But I didn't see a limited edition thing on it, like the lithograph set has. Can anyone confirm this please?
I am so glad I ordered the Snow White set when I did! She arrived yesterday and is so gorgeous! And the prince looks so handsome in person. All pictures of the Rapunzel/Flynn set look great! So many talented photographers. I'm glad things are going smoothly so far. Hopefully, knock on wood, this trend continues!
Also has anyone else tried ordering the Ariel/Eric mug? It popped back up online and I've tried adding it to my bag but it keeps saying this product is not available at this time. Ughhhh haha :3
Belle is my absolute favorite, tied with Ariel of course, but even I didn't like her at first. However, I went in store and saw the actual doll and fell in love.
I agree, I actually like how most of the princes look... Flynn is pretty bad, but it is amazing how much friendlier he looks just by turning his head slightly.
Originally, this was my order of needs for this set: Ariel, Rapunzel, Belle, Snow, and Jasmine.
Now that I've seen them all in person though, it has turned into this: Ariel, Belle, Jasmine, Snow, and Rapunzel. I am not a big fan of Snow or Jasmine, but they look so pretty in person. To me, Belle and Beast have the most interesting appeal to them, because it is not often we get Beast in doll form. He actually looks wonderful in person.
I'm still trying (rather unsuccessfully, I might add...) to collect the original designer dolls too. So far, I've only gotten my claws on Aurora and Rapunzel for decent prices... sigh. Here's to hoping these sets might effect the secondary market enough to bring some of the originals down.
I know, Im thinking that Belle might look better in person? I haven't seen them all except for pictures. I got Designer Rapunzel at a decent price on ebay. I really want Belle and Ariel now but they are so crazy on ebay with the prices. Those might have to wait.
I wasn't originally going to buy any of the dolls in the collection. However, they are stunningly beautiful in person. I just started collecting dolls and this is a nice collection to start with. I just bought Rapunzel/Flynn this morning. I bought the very last Snow White my local Disneystore had. She is by far my favorite in the collection. I'm really excited for Rapunzel to arrive next week. She is stunningly beautiful.
I just started collecting too. I knew about the Designer Princess dolls and the Villians when they came out because we go to the parks a lot, but I wasn't a doll collector at that point. I just started in Dec. Ive managed to get a lot off of my wishlist from ebay. But I still need DP Ariel and Belle - seems to be the hardest. I decided better to not miss out on the Fairytale Collection and regret it.I wasn't originally going to buy any of the dolls in the collection. However, they are stunningly beautiful in person. Yeah it was the Designer Princess. I stalk ebay every day now for Belle and Ariel. Its hard paying more than the retailed, and I don't want to support scalpers so I just keep trying to find one at a fair price. You bought Rapunzel on eBay cheaper then retail? Congrats! I went in store, just so I didn't have to order it from the Disney Store website.
I would not be discouraged about eBay prices for the other dolls yet though, they have not come out and sharks are just over-inflating prices to scare us. I would say don't buy from them over retail prices until the fat lady sings. I think Belle and Ariel will be the hardest to get, but if you can go into a Disney Store, I think you might have a pretty good chance. Or even if you set an alarm for the website release. Rapunzel is still available on the website, and I think she is one of the more popular princesses in the set, and Snow White took two weeks to sell out. Last year for the villains, I just set an alarm for 3:00 AM (I'm on the East Coast) to get the Villains and I had no problem... granted, those were much higher edition sizes, but even if you look at the 17" Ariel that is coming out. She sold out within twelve hours, but if you go on right away you will have a pretty good chance of it! Best of luck to you trying to get Belle and Ariel!
EDIT:
Whoops! I didn't read that it was the original designer line you were talking about. Yeah... Belle and Ariel are up there, which is heartbreaking. I'm a Sophmore in college, so it basically becomes a game of "do I want to eat for a semester, or buy an Ariel designer doll..." You would be surprised how often I lean towards the doll... haha! But I've seen them pretty low on eBay before. The lowest Belle I ever saw went for around $150? And Ariel I saw one the other week for $200 and I almost bought it, until I read that it didn't have the COA... I was so upset! Otherwise, I've seen her go the lowest around $280, from my experience. Some day, they will be mine though!
