Well, they might not all be scalpers now, at least not for the older dolls. I think a lot of scalpers sell right away. Some of us had to buy our dolls at scalper prices so if we go to sell them we will sell them for whatever the going rate is. I have no intention of selling mine right now, but if I paid $250 for LE 17" Rapunzel I am going to list her for at least that much.
 

Blonde Rapunzel?!? I might be willing to trade, I have a Designer Ariel with COA and slip cover.

Both my 17" LE Snow White and Rapunzel are store displays! I found a great seller on eBay who was truly kind, I got Snow for $500 and Rapunzel for $200, both with free shipping. She also sold me the store display designer Rapunzel for $100....there are great deals every now and then, and it never bothers me that they don't have a COA... I love them!

Thats very tempting! But mine is not actually for sale. I just was using her as an example because I had to buy her off ebay and if I ever did have to sell her I'd list her for the going rate.


Oh that is so lucky! I'd jump at that chance too. Especially for 17" Snow...or Designer Ariel. Those two girls are my doll grails. Well, and Alice but she's so limited I don't really even dream about finding her.
 
It's interesting that Rapunzel sold out in Europe before Snow White did, but Rapunzel is still available online in the US.

Bought both snow and rapunzel online. I work at my local disney store and it took all two weeks to originally sell out of Snow White, however we sold out of Rapunzel in the first day. I can only anticipate the next 3 dolls to be even more popular and sell out sooner both in store and online.. on top of the LE ariel, ursula, and eric.. it's going to be a chaotic next couple of months both mentally and financially.
 
I would be completely shocked if Rapunzel lasted in the US until the release of Jasmine. I honestly don't think she'll last any more than a couple of days. I understand that she falls short in some ways, but in person she is just incredible looking. Also as a side note, the Disney Store does allow you to return limited edition dolls that are ordered online. I bought an Evil Queen last year with a broken gold chain belt and they exchanged her for me with no problems. I bought two Rapunzel dolls just in case of a defect (since she'll likely be sold out by the time she gets to my house) and the plan is to give her as a gift for Christmas if they both turn out good. It also pays to make a stink. My limited edition Ursula Vase showed up poorly packaged and shattered. After complaining multiple times, they refunded me the purchase price and shipping without making me pay for return shipping. My faith in the Disney Store is restored (for now). How long do you guys think Rapunzel will take to sell out? Do you think Jasmine will go faster or slower than Rapunzel (since she is beautiful but less popular)?
 

I truly think Jasmine will be the slowest seller of the bunch; she and Al may still be around when Belle and Beast come out!
 
I can't wait for the rest of the dolls! Also I became brave and redid/reposed both designer couple snow and rapunzel...Here are some pics...took out braid from both snow and rapunzel and moved flynn more up






 
We will see in about a week! However I haven't heard as many dollys say they want her. The top one I've heard it Ariel! I fear there will be a mob at my store that Tuesday.... However I'm going to take support to hopefully up my chances of getting Ariel and Eric!!!
 
- OMG! I love how you did a repose with both couples! Plus you let loose of the hairstyle for both as well. Looks great! Especially for Snow White! Ugh I'm loving all these great posts for the dolls so far. As for Jasmine & Aladdin ... I'm actually getting mixed reviews. Cause more people are actually planning to get them as it's one of their favorites! I was surprised with that response & overwhelmed that aladdin is getting lots of popularity! Can't wait to get Aladdin & Jasmine.

Wow! Beautiful job with Rapunzel and Flynn! I like how Rapunzel's hair ended all straight instead of wavy because of the braid! I also undid Snow White's braid, but I think I'll keep Rapunzel's braid as it is. Thanks for sharing pictures !

That is what I am thinking. Though I'm kind of surprised Rapunzel/Flynn are still around. My guess is either Belle/Beast or Ariel/Eric will sell the fasted. Both of those princesses are incredibly popular. My guess is Jasmine/Aladdin will be around for 2 weeks like Snow White was.
 

No, no, no - *Knock on wood* I don't want Rapunzel and Flynn to sell out fast. I just need it to be there on Monday or Tuesday so I can get my money in order. When Ariel and Belle come around I'll be flush, so I'm not as worried, I can try for them on the release day.

I agree, I haven't heard much buzz about her online or in the stores. She's not one of my faves since I'm not a huge fan of her movie, but I may get her anyway because I'm a completist and I'm getting everyone else so far.

what do ppl here think about the collection so far? Is it pretty good odds that we'll be getting the other five princesses next year?
 

I doubt disney will be continuing the line again next year. I think they will try to be creative and do something different. I really am hoping for a heroines lines ie a line for the other female leads that are not princesses.

To be honest I would be so disappointed if Disney were to do the remaining characters because I don't think they would sell very well and I think Disney knows that. As much as it would be cool to see the remaining characters with their partners there would just be more negatives than positives for doing so. For starters it does not show any originality, the remaining charcters do not have strong enough partners to stand out and if they were to do princesses again in 2014 it would mean princesses again in 2015 as that is an expo year, so that would mean three years of the princesses as a designer line and to be honest I think if Disney were to do that people would start to lose interest fast as they would be seeing the same sort of thing repeated each year.

By having the villains in 2012 that really changed things up and whilst they did not sell as well it still showed Disney that there is a market out there for these dolls. It would be a shame for Disney to stop applying this concept to other characters other than the princesses due to the semi failure of the villains. So I am really hoping for something new and different from Disney next year. Something that will blow us away and redefine and reinvent the line.
 
I honestly wonder why some people are ignoring Jasmine... just because she's Asian?

Hardly anyone has been discussing her on here, and personally, I think she is one of the best in this collection.

I don't believe it has anything to do with race, I believe it just comes down to personal preference. Also a lot of people have mentioned on this forum that they are excited about Jasmine or the set in general. Just because she is not pointed out as a favorite, it doesn't mean people don't like her.
 
I kind of hope they don't continue next year,I wouldn't be intrested in Pocahontas,tianna, mulan and I just don't think their movies are as popular , I'm glad they were done in the original designer dolls but wouldn't want them again and their princes arnt that popular! While I would like Cinderella and Aurora done again I don't no if Disney will as their princes arnt that popular besides they would look very similar to Snows prince! The only one from this set Im not intrested in is Jasmine and not because of race! But because I don't have an interest in her or her design.Do you think their will be anther designer line? Or maybe a whole new collection? I'd love them to do heroines!
