Tinker Bell and Zarina Limited Edition Designer Dolls - My First Look

First look at my Tinker Bell and Zarina Limited Edition Designer Dolls. Here they are boxed. My Tinker Bell is number 2710 of 4000, and my Zarina is 0137 of 4000. There were no designer bags, as there were in the previous Designer doll collections.

My visit to my local Disney Store on Februay 18, 2014. I was there for the release of the Disney Fairies Designer Collection dolls. I also noticed that they had several items in the Frozen section that had been missing for several weeks, especially the mugs and Classic Anna dolls, but no Elsas.

They had eight of each Designer Fairy doll, Tinker Bell and Zarina. There were about that many people waiting in line before the store opened, waiting to buy them. I didn't do an actual count, but no one left the line when it was announced how many dolls there were, so there were probably seven or eight of them in the line. They had no designer bags, so they just put them in regular Disney Store bags.

I inspected my dolls, and they looked in perfect condition. I was surprised by their shiny pearly skin (similar in texture to LE Ursula and Harrods Elsa), but they looked very beautiful. The artwork on the boxes were also very beautiful, but the backgrounds behind the dolls were plain looking. The CM had to help me take off the slip cover of the Zarina doll, as it was very tight. She said all the Zarinas seemed to be that way.

To be honest, I don't like their shininess. For me it looks strange. Love Tinkerbell's outfit, but I must admit that I don't regret not getting these dolls. It felt kind of weird this morning when I knew all this doll buying was going on and I was not a part of it. XD
Congrats on everyone's dolls! It seemed like they were up a few hours on the European stores. Since when I looked at the Danish store two hours after their release, they were still available. I hope Aurora goes just as smoothly.
I fear for the next fairytale line though XD Stressful 5 times if I decide to buy them all (Still not sure if I'm getting Pocahontas, since I disliked her designer doll - so I want improvements if I'm going to buy her).

Also I hope they make Queen clarion, Terence, and silvermist. Id buy those but I really don't want to have the whole fairy collection.

Yea! Got my Tinkerbell at the store this morning! I wasn't initially planning to but I ended up getting Zarina as well. They are both so very beautiful -- I love them! Took me about an hour and a half to get the cover box off though, nearly impossible to remove - I thought for a while there that someone had superglued it on. LOL

Evidently, the covers are all hard to get off. The CMs at my store were all having problems with them. One of the CMs said she thought the entire production run had the cover size off slightly-- making them all hard to get off.

I do feel sorry for the crack down on all of the CMs (especially those on DPF that have been helpful). I hope the pressure on them and these releases loosens up.

They signed a NDA when they went to work for Disney. They are basically breaking the law and their word by releasing info that Disney doesn't want revealed yet. I hope Disney cracks down more on the ones that flaunt the rules and maybe that will basically stop all the 6 month "hype" there is with these doll releases.

I was at the store about 20 minutes before store opening was about 7th person in line. I was pretty lucky because they only had 9 of each doll. It was sad that the few others behind me didn't get Tinkerbell. But I went to another store in my area to see if I could get another Zarina (one to open and one to keep in box.) The other store still had 4 Zarinas and 2 Tinkerbells left, so depending on which store you go to, the demand doesn't seem to be too extreme. :hs:

So happy I got Tink and Zerena!! These dolls are gorgeous!!! I got to my local store at 10am and there were the usuall people waiting. I was 3rd in line and there were only 4 sets! Someone was behind me getting the last set. So, basically, the dolls were sold out as soon as the store opened. My mom, who lives in another state went to 2 stores and thankfully she was able to get Tink and Zerena as well. These dolls seem to be selling out very quickly. Good luck to everyone getting them online tonight. I have to add though, I MUCH prefer the first come method........the raffle takes too long but I understand the reasoning for doing it.

I'm really wondering why the dolls are being released so far ahead of the movie.....is it because of the leak? Did disney decided to put out the dolls early due to the leak?

who really knows the frozen dolls came out before the movie too. I got those on a whim without knowing the characters. Im glad I did but id like to see the movie and know the character before I buy it.

Maybe because in some places like here in the UK, it's already been released.

Seems as if everyone opened their dolls in the store. We were given them still sealed in the shipper box and they wouldn't open them so I had to wait until I got home. I was not lying when I said it literally took me an hour and a half to get the top box off. I was trying so hard not to rip the box or tear the display from the base. I was in agony because I so desperately wanted to see my doll and for the longest time all I could see were her little shoes! The suspense was killing me! LOL Amazingly I was able to get it off without injury --- to the box anyways, can't say I walked away unscathed!

On another note, did anyone get to keep their number/wait cards? I asked to keep mine and was told no I couldn't, but then I just saw someone on Facebook post a picture of theirs and they were at the same store. Was a bit miffed when I saw that! Thought it would be a nice souvenir. Oh well.

I definitely think anyone who breaks the rules of their contracts should be fired/reprimanded.

I feel bad for the CMs who are playing by the rules.

I agree too, that if the photos were not leaked, it might help keep the hype down a little.

Gutted missed Tinkerbell:( but it's my birthday next month so I will have to get her off eBay with birthday money, can't see her going for high prices like Elsa. Worst comes to worst I will sell the Snow gear Anna to buy Tinks:)

I suggest you check your local store. Oxford Street, London (far from you, I know) had about half a dozen of each at least! They were much better looking than any picture seems to show.

I managed to order mine at 8:11 right after they went live. F5-ing like mad! No update on status though bah! Here's hoping I can get my order in for Elsa next month. So worried... my net connection actually dropped right before Tink went live haha!

I did. I fully expected to hand mine over however (we number 1 so we went first. ) the line was so long that my fiancé was able to grab them and put them in the bag without the CM noticing Or remembering. Kind of nice to have :)

Tinker Bell and Zarina Limited Edition Designer Dolls - Covers Off

Here Tinker Bell and Zarina have the slip cover and top acrylic cover of their display cases taken off, so they are in the clear. They are temporarily next to my computer desk, in front of my Harrods Anna and Elsa Doll Set. It is curious that both sets of dolls consist of a blonde and a redhead. Photographed using built in flash.

How do you take the acrylic cover off? The back of mine lifts but I can't get the front to move.

Also, how do you take it off without the paper backing along with it?
