2015 Pin Releases: Let's help each other know about them.
I'm glad it's not just me. I don't even think they're all that pretty. I was beginning to wonder if they were like infused with Walt's ashes or something.

Disney could sell that pin for $1000000 and still have a bidding war!

+1

I have been out of the "pin loop" for a few months and am just now getting back into trading, but I really don't get the hype with these pins...like at all.

Actually, it does make sense from a Disneyland FAN perspective, NOT a pin trading perspective. Just like the Marvel releases at DSF, it's expected chaos not from pin people, but Marvel people. There was just an auction of vintage Disneyland memorabilia, that sold for $1.7 million, and things like the DFC have a very big presence. Back during the 50th, on the actual day, people started lining up at 10PM the night before and spent the night in DCA. Since pins were part of the 30th gift giver promotion, and the 35th, it is not unexpected that these pins would be popular with general Disneyland collectors, and many of them are ex-pin traders.

Resellers can account for some additional bodies now, but the first release was chaos too, and no one predicted that. That's why I said it's like old times.

Outside of pins I have a Disneyland Memorabilia collection and a Walt E. Disney collection. Now these pins hit on all 3 of my collections and that is what makes them so inciting to me. Granted today was the first time I braved a release, It was still and experience for me (crazy but memorable) and I am happy I have the pin :)

Yes, this. Nostalgia. Disney fan. Disneyland enthusiast. (and yes, I was one of those people who spent the night in DCA for the 50th anniversary). I like that it's represents my home park, celebrates the anniversary of the park, and has Walt quotes. Is it the best looking pin? No. But when I saw it, I knew I really wanted it, even before all the hype ...

I want them because I collect Walt picture pins. I have a whole pin board of Walt pins... so these were a no-brainer for me and my collection.. so I brave these INSANE releases

Spectromagic - Cinderella & Prince Charming

FWIW - The previously released pin flyers for WDW showed that today the Piece of Spectromagic History: Jaq and Gus pin was to be released today. Instead, we got the Piece of Spectromagic History: Cinderella & Prince Charming

I'm not complaining, lol. But in case anyone is looking for the Jaq and Gus pin, it wasn't released today (at least that I could find).

I can add to it that it's LE 1000, unlike a lot of the other spectromagic pins, which are 2000+. Happened to be in the parks and got one today.

Dang I was really hoping there would be some new ones instead of just swapping them but oh well..weird that Disney didn't post anything on the website about it though. Thanks for the info!

It's supposed to be only until they get the new ones in.

So I collect Skylander Toys, Amiibos and a few other things, and with the port strike being a big problem with those collectibles right now and those companies responsible for them have said alot of the items won't be available until MAY or JUNE.

If this is the case for them there's a huge chance that the hidden Mickeys are also facing this problem. If that's the case they won't even be delivered for a few more months.

I'm so annoyed about this diamond pin madness. I'm working on a set because I like the quotes, but I'm really starting to wonder if it's with it. My group had pretty good luck this round, having our pins in hand less than three hours after arriving at the park, but considering the number of people who are lining up all night, I'm not sure if that luck will hold out for the diamonds/quotes I really want.
I've already missed the red one and I'm having trouble working up the energy (and funds) to deal with getting one.

You are right, I missed that!! For reference, here's a pic of the back:

2015 WDW Easter pin with Stitch

I also noticed that the pin flyers showed the WDW Easter pin as a LE of 1,000. Instead, it is 3,000.
