2017 Pin Releases

Oh hush, you! You know what I meant: living and/or depicted sufficiently to be turned into a pin.

I figured someone would mention that, but I'd dare argue what counts as "depicted sufficiently" considering how obscure PTDs and what not have gotten!

But let's see, Hercules (who in fact has TWO sets of parents!), Simba, Merida, Riley, Aurora, Cinderella may be a bad choice for a Mother's Day pin but it's there!, Ariel (they did the prequel with her mom being shown), Bambi, the Darling children from Peter Pan, Lady and Tramp's pups, Dalmatians and their pups, I'd argue for Aristocats being that O'Malley becomes their adopted father, Mulan, Pacha and Chicha's kids from Emperor's New Groove, The Incredibles, Tiana, Rapunzel, the girls from Frozen (if they're gonna make a pin for Cinderella's dad they can do the king and queen of Arendelle!), Arlo, Dory (now), Judy Hopps, Moana?

I would like to point out that Herc has TWO sets of parents and we've had two Zeus fathers day pins... I call shinanigans.

This is a longer list than I would have expected, so thanks for putting it together!

I'm pretty sure DLP had the Queen of Arendelle for a Mother's Day pin already.

Spray-tan always wins.

Yeah, several of these characters have gotten one, either Father's Day, or Mother's Day (some even both like Simba) pin! Just saying, like to see them do matching sets featuring both parents in the same year or something

I'm sure I'm the lone duck here, but I'd like to see a Mother's Day pin showcasing Minnie/Figaro or Widow Tweed/Tod, and Father's Day pins showcasing Amos/Copper or Mickey/Figaro to represent those of us whose children are four legged and furry. :bigthumb:

That would be a wonderful pin idea. (As long as it wasn't Tremaine and Lucifer!)

ETA: For those who were wanting pins from the new Japan framed set, I was able to get a guaranteed slot for a set, so I am running a co-op for most of them in the co-op subforum, and will be auctioning off a few of the ones I've reserved from the co-op once they arrive from Japan.

In fairness, Free-D actually thematically works for this since it's a foam finger, and it is white in the movie. But this pin pretty much can never come out of its wrapper. :/

Free-D aside, I actually really like the design for this. The background is a yellow circle, and it's a happy scene, so it's like the pin is one of Joy's memory balls. And the numbers in the year are the other four emotions' memory balls.

(Side note - I desperately want Disney to make a Foghorns jersey.)

It's like they read my earlier post and said, "Not this month."

It is very thematically appropriate, for sure. Just a nightmare to keep clean. Hahah!

Also, I had noticed the emotion balls on the bottom, but I hadn't thought of the yellow background! That is pretty thorough! I like it a lot more now, hahah!

WHY do they insist on making pins with the rubber enhancement free-d? NO ONE likes them. NO ONE. Or am I wrong? lol

They usually look pretty good, when it's done right. It's just a matter of keeping them clean. It's not a good material, but aesthetically it works. Hahah!

I definitely agree with you! In fact, many of the Shanghai pins that I think look pretty cute become deal breakers because so many of the Shanghai pins coming out have Free-D components. I really wish they would retire it from pins.
