I'd presume it's an attempt to stop people from running to World Showplace, but I doubt that will stop people, no matter how logical it is.

I can only imagine it's going to be chaos trying to get everyone in numerical order at the event space. "What's your number? Okay. What's your number? So I'm behind you, but there will be 4 more people in between us..."

Haha def reminds me of the good ol’ DSSH morning releases. We had to line up in order based on our randomly drawn ticket

Did pretty good today! Hoping I didn't get over excited and trade all my good ones though lol. Also hope these photos work and/or aren't too big.

Also, I know it's not anybody on this forum, but I wish people attending the event would remember to be kinder to newer pin traders. My friend has been doing it long enough to not have fakes and to have decent pins, but not long enough to accumulate a lot, and several people wouldn't even look at her one page of pins even when she was asking after an OE. They'd open the binder, see the one page, say "that's it?" and then shut it without actually looking at the pins. Like come on. You don't know what someone has unless you look. This is why the trading hobby seems to be dying and falling to people who are content to buy fakes off shady websites. Hard-core pinners are scaring people off before they can fall in love with it.

Good luck. Don’t forget to look up how many dolls are in the IASW attraction.
289!

I noticed it says “One Family Trivia” so I wonder if they will add some new questions geared to this year’s theme. I know the Encanto family is Madrigal and Rey is Palpatine’s granddaughter (and Kylo Ren a skywalker/solo). Any other thoughts on what might be questions?

This is unfortunate about some traders. I do hope your friend does not get discouraged.

Nice haul!

She's a little spiteful, so she told me that she was just going to remember their faces and not trade with them even if they wanted to trade with her haha. I just feel bad for other traders that might not be as tough or have a friend there with them. I'd probably have cried if someone treated me that way at my first pin event since I was alone and already nervous to approach people.

Thank you!

And good luck AJK!

If they ask about what side of a villain a certain feature is on, and you are not positive, say left. They often put identifying features on the left side (Scar's scar, Hook's hook, etc.)

My first WDW event in 2016... I didn't even go into the back room. I did some minimal trading in line and of course with the WDW boards. Even with this limited interaction I had some crap experiences. I remember several people telling me this pin or that pin were not worth anything. I really didn't understand the comments at the time and just dismissed them as manipulative (ie, I am now sure it had to do with resale value)... just thought well someone will collect the theme and be interested in them.
