So the last month or so I have received several trade requests from the same trader, every request is for the same pin, my Pin 72170: DLR - Haunted Mansion 40th Anniversary Event: Attic Bride with Groom #2 Lenticular Ring Pin and the trader always offers 1 single Hidden Mickey cast pin in return, I always politley decline. One morning I recieved yet again another trade request for yet another HM cast pin, so this time I went into his tradables and found 2 pins that I thought would be a fair trade, Pin 27871: WDW - This is Love - Snow White and Prince and Pin 88506: WDW - 2011 Hidden Mickey Completer Pin - Cute Yeti Collection - Yeti Cat (PWP) I thought it was a fair trade but the trader replied saying he had a trade in progress for the pin I have with someone else and no thank you, thats fine no biggie, but just this morning I got another trade request from the same trader for the same pin and again he's only offering a single HM pin, and I understand, he's clicking on pins he's willing to trade and I have only one of them on my wants, so I reminded the trader of the offer I sent him, and that I was willing to do that trade and that I would enjoy trading with him, but I could not accept the trade they offered, so lets talk about it. so am I just wondering am I asking to much?? am I not being fair? I just want a take on this from someone elses perspective, any advice?

It sounds to me like this person is only interested in trades where he's coming out ahead. I don't think you're being unreasonable at all, but then again I don't know anything about the pins in question. But I certainly don't think a single hidden mickey would be fair to you.

The Trade Assistant on PinPics can be a little wonky, at times, and can throw out some off balance trade requests. Since you've already politely attempted to negotiate a different trade and was declined, I would simply ignore the trade requests and chalk them up to an imperfect system. No worries :)

As Lamorak said at this point you've done all you can so I would just stop responding. The other approach might be to explain to him again that you did make a reasonable offer and he declined so if in the future when he sends out TA requests could he kindly remove you from his list. It is a very simple process, once you've created a trade request you can go to "pending trades" and simply click whoever you don't want to send them to, in this case he would be removing your name from his list. This is not an unreasonable request, I've known people who have had other traders ask them to stop sending them requests, after all no one wants to get the same request every day for a pin that you have already agreed that you can't come to a reasonable agreement on. At this point you've been very polite, and shouldn't feel guilty about whatever you decide to do.

In addition to what rubyslippered said-- it's possible the reason you keep getting requests is not that he's ignoring your earlier messages, but that he doesn't know about the feature described above. I didn't know about it either until last week when a kind person told me about it. Until then, I was just sending out requests totally blind, having no idea who I was sending them to. I didn't know I could look at pending requests before they went out, and edit them. It's also possible he's new and doesn't know the value of things, and is just clicking on EVERY pin that comes up in the "what could I trade to get this" option. Again I didn't have any idea about LE pins until a nice trader at the Frontierland barrels explained them to me.

He *could* be doing both things deliberately, but I try not to attribute to malice what can be explained by ignorance.

In any case, I think there's nothing wrong with what you're asking, and nothing wrong with just ignoring him after this and not responding at all.

It is suprising how many people don't realize that the TA is only a tool. And that you need to do "smart" trade requests. Looking at the pins LE, T/W etc... before sending a request out. I try very hard to only send fair requests. Occasionally one bad offer slides through.
I recieve TR's all the time that are obviously from folks who literally clicked ever.single.pin. that came up. Over, and over, and over... daily. I have been offered the majority of my OE wants pins one at some point for my Classic D monorail in the past 2 weeks.

Yeah... I'm sorry to say I did that a few times myself (clicking every single pin that came up) before learning a bit about how to use TA and about making fair requests. At least I only did it a *few* times... I'm just glad there were nice people around here willing to explain it to me! :) I may still make some bad requests but at least now I'm trying!
