Alice in Disneyland (Wonderland) event
All I am going to say to everyone who is interested in these pins is... good luck. I am also interested in all of these pins and if I am lucky enough to get any, I will go to Disneyland to pick them up :)

Thanks for letting me know I'm not into pin trading much - I didn't realize that after spending every day of the last five years talking about pins online and building my Alice in Wonderland pin collection to where it is.

And I guess the overnight waits I've done in line to get pins because I can't afford secondary prices either or the events I've attended don't count as passion for the hobby either.

What some of us are just trying to say is for goodness sakes CHILLAX!

We are all to some degree OCD about pins or we wouldn't be here. But when your level of anxiety is so high that you're complaining daily... you're missing the FUN in the hobby because you're so freaked out about getting everything.

Guess what? I want every pin being released too. I want them just as badly as you do. But we will find out when we find out and then hopefully we will ALL get the pins we want. And then we can look forward to the next release of pins that we all want.

But if all you're concentrated on is how upset you are at Disney for not telling you everything you want to know when you want to know it, it doesn't sound like this is much fun for you after all.

Thank you Jabberwocky. Couldn't have said it better myself. I don't think any of us were trying to be rude in any way.

THANK YOU!!!!!!!! That was my point, exactly. Did we get into pins because we want to have fun or because we want to stress out over every single release to the extent to which we are complaining about it daily?

And, just to clarify something, I mentioned in my earlier post that one of my main collections is the Cheshire Cat, so YES, I AM DYING for these pins but I am CHOOSING not to stress over this pin release because, for me, pins are supposed to be fun and, well, how fun can they be if I am stressed out over them? If I get them, great. If not, as I said, isn't that why it's called pin trading?

ok this is for all of you who think i was attacking you directly im not.i feel the same way the only reason i put anything in this thread everyday is to make sure its an updated thread for anyone interested in the pins scheduled to be released.and by the way im not interested in every pin just a few of them, and i love pin trading it doesnt give me anxiety, but what you all dont seem to understand is to be able to get any of these pins i have to put it on a calendar weeks in adv ance because i have a life ,i cant just drop whatever im doing just to wait in line because disney decides to release late info days before hand.thats what im trying to get across.and the way some of you come across is like why bother...no people have to make arrangements for things to be done.especially for those who are not close to dlr.and jabberwocky if you are who i think you are your collection is AWESOME.so sorry if i sounded grouchy,or defensive but just wanted to let you know it felt as if the mad alice people were getting attacked, and i wanted to get my feelings across.

hint taken,im sorry if ive come across as a downer,i love disney and i know they have alot more on their daily agenda then to worry about the release of alice pins.in the future ill try to be more upbeat if im not and i start sounding negative again just tell me to shut up,ill get the hint.

LOL No need to tell anyone to shut up. Just sometimes we all need a reminder that pins are a FUN thing, not a stressing thing. :)

Absolutely! Instead of stressing, we should just remember WHY we got into pins in the first place, which, for me at least, was to have fun and share many enjoyable experiences with friends! :)

I don't mean to bring the mood down again, but I just looked at ODPT "upcoming pins", which now goes thru Thurs April 28, and I DON'T see those special Alice pins..... :-(

My guess would be that before they officially announce the pins on ODPT that they need to finalize their plan for the release. That would be the smart thing for them to do anyway is have a plan before going public.

I always have FUN with pins. I love to trade and will sometimes just send people pins just because. I love this whole Disney thing, but I really do NEED those Alice pins. I can't travel to CA to get them, but if I could I would. I'm not stressed :anxious::anxious::anxious: just really want these pins and it's frustrating to live so far away. But I get your message about negativity. I'm already OCD about a lot of things, but I do love my Disney pins :lol::lol:

my only real worry is if they decide to push back the date because of the great response they got for these pins at the last dlr ptn,and love is magical.but i hope not, maybe their trying to make an effort to make the release date a lil extra special.im sure there will be some news soon april is right around the corner.

I will not cry:cry::cry:
I will not be stressed :anxious::anxious:
I will not be angry or upset :mad:

But gosh - I really WANT THOSE PINS:p:lol::drool:

I can definitely identify with all the Alice pin fans out there! I'm such a Haunted Mansion fan and I got anxious on every release day of 2009's Haunted Mansion O-Pin house new release day! And that was before they did RSP online, so I had to do an early morning line up for every release of that theme! Boy, was I tired by the end of summer! But at least I got everything I wanted, it was worth it. I wonder if the Alice pins will be RSP or not. If the Alice DLR POH was any indication of how popular these will be, and if this will be an early morning line up, look out and get there early! Best of luck to all of you who want these pins!

No info yet eh~ Maybe now that they put out all the info for the big sci-fi academy they'll work on getting the info on these pins out.Or Maybe they'll pull an april fools on us!

Also, what if perhaps they are still trying to make it a small event and thus the delay on any info~
Though I'm gonna have this face ---> if there's someone just sitting there with all the info prepped, only thing left to do is a mouseclick to publish, but they are sitting there watching us all roll around in turmoil.

In all seriousness though, hopefully we get news soon, and hopefully it's wristbanded and not RSP.The online RSP is too easy to abuse.Sure you need a matching ID to get your pins, but people could (and I am certain have) make a bunch of mule (fake) accounts to register, and keep track of all the ones that win.Add up the totals and you know you have a GUARANTEED minimum of that amount for the standby line.Gives you a better guess as to if it's worth it to get in that horrendous line...
I'm willing to bet if there are some insanely amazing pins here with low LEs people would go so far as to register multiple accounts, multiple rsp,and if any win, make a fake id to match the chosen account v_v
Also with the whole online rsp thing, you're gonna have people from all over the place registering, either not knowing you have to pick it up in person,or thinking they can just send someone to get the pin with a printed confirmation number,or thinking they can have the pin shipped etc etc etc.

Personally I think wristbanding is much better, sure it can be chaotic and nerve-wrecking,but it's also quite fun.Plus I think it's a bit more fair than the online. If someone in portland gets an rsp but has no intention of flying out here, how is that fair to those of us who plan to go to the park?
If you really want the pin you gotta be willing to work for it
/rant on process of obtaining the pins

the online rsp is fair.1. no one under 16 can sign up. 2. it says you have to go to the park to pick up the pin by 1pm after that the pin is fair game for anyone who did not get an rsp and waits in the 2nd chance line. this way there is no line swelling at all. disney does not have to shell out money for extra security to keep people from hidning in bushes or going on to property before the line up time. and i really dont think people would go thru the trouble and the expense of getting fake ids just to get a piece of metal. overall, as much as i miss the overnights waiting in line for a pin, i think this online rsp system is better overall, even after i ranted about my daughter 11 at the time being unable to register for an rsp!

The thing is,there isn't a way to stop people from registering fake accounts. It also doesn't prevent people with bad intentions from entering just to be jerks (someone who knows they aren't gonna go,but don't want someone else to get picked)

Plus, not to sound rude to people, but we all know there will be people who register and get picked, not understanding that they have to be there in person to get the pin.Thats another pin going unfairly into the standby queue.

Like I stated, people can register a bunch of mule accounts in hopes of guaranteeing extra numbers for the standby line, which is unfair.

I wouldn't rule out the fake id's for the lower LEs,it may be a piece of metal, but it's also $$$ to the ebay sharks sadly

I know it's a pain to disney to have all the security issues with the lurkers and such, but the RSP is just faulty in my eyes UNLESS it's for the ticketed events (since you gotta buy your event ticket to put in your rsp request, meaning no people making fake accounts, not knowing they have to be there etc etc)

I know it's off topic but what was the reason they told you your daughter would be unable to register?I can understand infants and toddlers (I've seen babes in cradles with wristbands....) but your daughter is at an age where she's a collector

it was something about the site they used. i was so mad! i blasted them at the park that day: IF she pays full price to go to the park, able to buy her own pins, register for an event and do that rsp why the heck couldnt she sign up online for a chance to get an rsp for a simple pin release! i talked and was very angry with a couple of the pin team about this and never got a good answer to it! they said that things would chang to where all online rsp stuff that they would have to be a certain age to sign up but i havent seen it yet. but then i havent gone to an event since then lol. with the online rsp at least i know i will have a fair chance to get a chance to get something!
